Professional :: Load External Swf As A Different Size?

Apr 1, 2010

I'm using Flash CS3 and AS2.0.I'm using the loadMovie function to load an external swf into an empty movieclip. The problem is that the external swf is bigger than the frame I am loading it into, so I'd like to load it in with specific width/height parameters (basically load it in and scale it down).

Professional :: Specifiy External Window Size And Screen Location?

Jan 28, 2010

I have this ActionScript: function openNewCart(evt:Event):void { navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://www.3dcart.com"),"_blank");} OpenCartPage.addEventListener("click",openNewCart);

Is there a way that I can have it open a 5 pixel window that automatically closes after it loads? Also, is there a way to specify within the actionscript where on the screen I want the new window to open?

I'm newer to flash. What I'd like to do is have it add a product to the shopping cart and close back down.If I can't do it straight from flash, I'm sure I can have the flash page open up an html page which redirects to the add to cart page and automatically closes, but obviously a much bigger pain in the butt, and it will only work anyway if I can specify in the actionscript for it to open a 5 x 5 pixel window.

Professional :: Build A Flash That Auto-adjust Its Size To The Browser Window Size?

Jun 8, 2010

I am trying to build a flash that auto-adjust its size to the browser window size, while leaving the content of the flash itself top-centered in the screen.I have found this solution [URL].. on How to keep centered stuff in this exact case so i am pretty confident i will be able to adjust that script to do what i want.

Now my problem is that if i put my content inside the movie-clip (centerrectangle) with all the animation require, link and other stuff, the movieclip (center rectangle ) never have the exact same center, thus making the script go wild trying to always adjust the location to the variable size of the movie clip.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Moviecliploader Document Size External Swf?

Feb 9, 2009

ActionScript Code:
var container:MovieClip = createEmptyMovieClip("container", this.getNextHighestDepth());
var mcLoader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
mcLoader.addListener(this);
mcLoader.loadClip("crossball.swf", container);
function onLoadInit(mc:MovieClip) {
trace(container._width);
trace(container._height);
}

This always traces the width/height of the content of the external crossball.swf file, not its stage dimensions. So let's say crossball.swf has a document size of 200 by 200 pixels and in it is a shape of 115 by 30 it will trace the last as the width/height of 'container'. Is there any way to get the stage dimensions of an externally loaded swf through moviecliploader?

ActionScript 3.0 :: External Loaded SWF Size Not Correct

I am loading an external swf, but when the swf is loaded, its height is correct, but it's width is not. Why is this?

"Block9.swf" is a simple MovieClip with a width of 100 and a height of 120.

But when the swf is loaded, its width output is 169. But the height is correct at 120.

Code:
var swfLoader:Loader = new Loader();

var swfRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("Block9.swf");

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading In An External SWF At A Pre-determined Size?

Jan 10, 2007

Ok so basicaly what I want to do is load in an external swf onto the stage which is 1024x768, above all existing items (so preferably into an existing container mc) but set the loaded swf's width/height so that it fits into a pre-determined space of 700x400, even though the loaded SWF is larger.

The stage of the SWF being loaded in is 700x400, which as stated above is the desired size, but objects within it are larger than it's stage for purposes of the animation. This means that when you load the SWF onto your current stage with the normal loadMovie("xxx.swf","container") you wind up seing parts of the object that would normaly be outside the 700x400 stage if you were to view the SWF on it's own, obviously resulting in an ugly movie clip.

I could cover up those parts with extra layers, but the majority of the primary stage is transparent so this isn't really an option. So, is there a way to load an external SWF but only display the actual stage of that SWF, or set the width/height to mimmick the same sort of thing?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Limit Display Size Of External Swf?

Oct 8, 2007

I have an external swf I am loading. It is a text scroller, and part of the way it works is that it moves the text up or down off the top or bottom of the stage when it scrolls.Unfortunately when I load it in a master swf, the guts of the thing are showing through, spilling outside of the intended boundaries of the included swf. (i.e. outside the included swf's stage height).

IDE :: Resize External Swf Movie To Stage Size?

Feb 5, 2009

What i try to do, is to make a "wrapper" in Flash, in which other swfs could be embedded. (passing the URL of the external SWF by URL) to attach a link to the swfs. (ClickTag - Issue, maybe someone knows this).In the HTML - Code this would look like this:

Code:
<embed src="wrapper.swf" ...>
<param name="filename" value="path-to-external-swf.swf"/>
<param name="clickTag" value="http://www.example.com"/>

The SWF "wrapper.swf" should load the "path-to-external-swf.swf" an puts a onClick - Event on the whole area.That works just fine, BUT The loaded external SWF should always fit to the stage size (like 100% width and 100% height) .My code looks like this:

Code:
// Variables should be passed by URL
_root.filename = "http://example.com/animation.swf";
_root.clickTag = "http://www.example2.com";[code]....

Code:
mClip._width = Stage.width;

When i click on the swf, the movie fits exactly to the stage width...

IDE :: Forcing The Display Size Of An External Swf On The Stage?

Oct 12, 2009

For my AS3 website, I want to have different buttons at different points in the timeline which load and play external swf videos. These swfs would ideally be displayed on the stage at the actual height and width of the video rather than in a new window.

The swf files themselves will be generated using a third party video player, which wraps itself around an external FLV creating a nice self-contained swf video player (the generated swf contains the player and the video).

The problem is that the third-party video player i'm using ALWAYS displays the loaded swf at the full size of the stage and not the actual size of the swf video. So when the user hits the button to load and play the video, the swf video fills the stage leaving the user no way back to the website.

Also if I use _blank to open it in a new window, it fill the entire browser window.Is it possible to force the width and height at which an external swf is displayed on the stage and if so could some guru give me a code sample to use? It doesn't need to be dynamic according to the swf dimensions, as these will be the same for all videos.

Below is the code I'm using at this point to call the swf:-

var Xpos:Number = 0;
var Ypos:Number = 0;
var swf:MovieClip;
var loader:Loader = new Loader();
var defaultSWF:URLRequest = new URLRequest("swfs/eyesClosed.swf");

[code]....

..it compiles but I don't see the swf at all, whereas if I don't set the width and height it appears. I've changed the width and the height within these variables but the swf never displays unless I remove swfwidth and swfheight from my code.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Resize External Swf To Its Original Stage Size?

May 13, 2010

Here is my problem (unfortunatelly didn't find solution @google or in this forum): I'm loading external swf[AS2] into main swf[AS3] using Loader class. The main swf is 800 x 600 and the external swf is 290 x 247. After adding the external swf to the main swf the external swf expands (scale to) from 290 x 247 to the main swf's size: 800 x 600. How can i prevent this? I want the loaded swf to save it's original stage size.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Setting External SWF Dimensions To Root Stage Size?

May 15, 2009

I am loading the SWF just fine, but I want the SWF to fit the root stage exactly. What happens instead is that the external SWF seems to include white space from around itself.

For example, the author-set width of the Tanks game (an example file I was using) is 550px, but when I set the width of loadEvent.currentTarget.content.width to 550px, the game is resized to maybe 350px width. I have to set the value of loadEvent.currentTarget.content.width to something like 640 in order to get the game itself to make full use of those 550 pixels.

Code:
package {
import flash.net.URLRequest;
import flash.display.Loader;
import flash.events.Event;

[Code].....

I have CS4 with AS3. I hard-coded values for cWidth and cHeight instead of getting them from flashvars because I am just testing in the IDE right now. Normally I would get those vars from flashvars.

ActionScript 3.0 :: External Textfield Ignoring Container Size When Set To Autosize?

Mar 3, 2010

Really not enjoying myself with AS3 - it's about as userfriendly as an airplane cockpit. I'm sure Flash the program is quite happy with it, but spending hours into weeks trying to implement pretty ordinary functionality is getting really tiring.

I have a textfield loading in html/CSS file. The textfield is in a container mc. I'm trying to use a scrollbar on the textfield, and I need to set the textfield to  newsText.autoSize = "left";. When I do this, the textfield displays the entire contents of the html file in the swf, ignoring the textfield size AND the mc size, displaying all the lines in the file in howover many lines are in the html file.

I'm autocenting my swf in the browser, so this of course throws the whole thing off center.
