Professional :: Can't Play Flash Movies Locally On Mac?

Im creating a website and when I test flash content in an html page locally on my mac, I get this annoying message
"Adobe® Flash® Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation. The following local application on your computer or network: /Users/myname/Documents/Websites/mysite/version 1/site/Scripts/expressInstall.swf
is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location:fpdownload.macromedia.com
To let this application communicate with the Internet, click Settings.You must restart this application after changing your settings."
Ive tried following the settings button and adding "/Users/myname/Documents/Websites' to local storage settings by site but no joy the content still wont play and every time I refresh or test the page I get the same message. I want to add the whole websites directory so I don't get this message again, when testing other sites pages and content.

I have a question in Flash play/pause button. I have created a flash slideshow which was exceeding 16000 frames, so I've split the movie into two. I'm loading the second movie at the end of the main movie using loadMovieNum. I have placed the play/pause button in the main movie which works fine until the second movie loads. This used to work for me in the older version of Flash (flash 8).I'm using CS4 now.

I want a user running a Flash game on his machine (not from a server) to be able to save some game data locally.From what I've read, there still isn't any way to do this, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone knows a sneaky xml or php work around.

In my scene I have a movie scene(movie1) that will slide into frame once a button is clicked.
Inside Movie1 I have another movie scene (movie2) that will fade in once button is clicked.
When I click the button movie1 will play but not movie2.
Here's the coding I use for the button:

I have a linear movie I have created in Flash and I am not an ActionScript user at all, but I am trying to find an answer or some resources on how to create a small "button" that once clicked by the user will pause my Flash movie, and then once clicked again, will make it play.

after a while of searching i still despared to find out how to play youtoube movies inside my flash.I notice there is a as2 script that caputure the rigth url to load the flv inside my own flash? or a php code that filter out the right flv?

I have created many flash video over the years so I definitely know how to embed an flv into flash. Also, it is very hard to screw up the import video wizard in flash so I have eliminated that as a potential problem. I haven't created a movie in quite a few months and yesterday I tried to create one. I used the wizard in flash to import the working flv and when i hit ctrl+enter to preview, a blank white screen showed up. When I right clicked, it said movie not loaded. So I tried to use AS3 and netconnection to embed the movie. When I previewed it, the same thing happened. I then went to view one of my existing swf's that did not have a video and that did not work either. I searched and found the adobe flash player security preferences and changed settings and NOW I can view swf's that do not have video. I can ALSO view old swf's that have video embedded BUT as soon as I open the original fla file and press ctrl+enter to preview, the swf's DO NOT preview anymore

I created the movie in a new folder, so I owuld have all the files... fss.html, fss.swf and MinimaFlatCustomColorPlayBackSeekCounterVolMute.swf I uploaded all these to the server.....

I have several products I want to animate with graphics and text individualy then stack them on a time line for output with play and pause buttons. Is there a tutorial somwhere that shows you how to do this? and how do I stop the entire animation on a frame, I don't understand "not_set_yet"

I downloaded a XML based website flash template and made some modifications to it. With this template there was few fonts included in separate folder (I had to install them to view swf and edit fla correctly) after all my mods done I published it to swf file and opened local file with browser, everything was working perfectly at this moment. Then I asked my friend if it could upload it on his server to check if this website looks the same on the web. I noticed that text (which is written with custom font that was included) is either missing or misplaced

Any movie whatsover (i.e. any file in any location on my drive) cannot be published (including test movie via Command-Enter) because I get this error:
"Error creating SWF movie file. Be sure the destination file is not locked or on a locked drive. Also, check that the file name is not too long."
The file name isn't too long, and I am logged in as an administrator on the machine. All folders I have tried to publish to are unlocked and I have read/write priveliges to them. This is a new install of CS4 and has been updated to the very latest version (and it didn't work before the update, not does it work after). This is NOT to do with my specific permissions. This is a clean install of Flash CS4 Professional on a very new Macbook Pro running OS 10.5.7.

Using Actionscript 2, I'm a bit new to all the scripting stuff.I have a loader loading a couple of flash movies like this:loadMovieNum("sound.swf", 1);loadMovieNum("logo.swf", 2);loadMovieNum("mainmenus.swf", 3);Those 3 movies I need to go to the main section of the site. However, I would like the loader to also load the remaining movies needed to further navigate the site, but without displaying them now Kind of like 'caching' the rest of the site, so when the access is needed, there's no load time.

When I tried to import music to flash animations I have created, I received error message that: One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them.
The platform: Mac AA audio file Encoded with iTunes 10.1.2, Quick Time 7.6.6
Is it because of the audio file format that music cannot be imported? If so, how can i convert it to the compatible format?

I created a simple Flash app that shows a menu on the side with 2 movie choices. Each movie choice is supposed to play a different movie. The whole thing works just fine on my local machine but when I upload to the test server, the movies never start. Near as I can tell the SWF loads and functions fine but the movies dont work... constant loading bar. Of course, I want them to stream in a YouTube-like fashion. I've fought with this for some time, tried .FLV files directly in DW (no joy there either) so I'm stuck. If I replace the movies with images, the SWF functions just fine. Just can't seem to do the movies.

The movies are only slightly different from each other.I don't want to make a movie that is two minutes long though. I want the movies to play in a different order on each page.

I play games on Pogo and have never had a problem with their Flash Games until released Daily Hot Shots. It doesn't load fully and I've done EVERYTHING I know to do to get it to play. No errors show up. I can play ALL the other flash games but this one. When I right click, the name of the site's owners do not show up....I have the settings showing though Not all of the game loads and that's the problem. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling....tried a different browser and have the same exact problem. THIS GAME WILL NOT PLAY.

So basically target 2 movies to play at the same time. But for some reason it is not working for me.

I've got a project that loads a couple of external flv videos. It works great locally but when I upload it to a web server I just get a blank screen.
Googling reveals two possible issues... server mime types, and flv path issues.
Everything is in the same folder so I'm doubting it's a path issue.
If it's the mime type issue, how do I go about fixing it? My host is dreamhost.
*update, I tried adding the following two lines to my .htaccess file but it didn't change anything:
AddType application/andrew-inset ez
AddType video/x-flv flv

I have a SWF (1.8mb) which I placed onto my HTML page using Dreamweaver, and set to autoplay. When I save the file and open it in Firefox/Safari, the movie plays as expected. But when I uploaded the files to my hosting server, the movie doen't appear (not even a box where it should be - just nothing but blank space where it should be). I've made sure that I uploaded the SWF, the HTML file, the expressInstall.swf, and the swfobject_ modified. js file. I also changed the permissions to allow executable scripts. I don't have a Flash blocker installed.[code]

I have a small FLA file i created myself. its just a simple mp3 player, pause and stop and a volume slider, thats it.I want to import three instances of this into a bigger movie and have them all available to run at the same time.I need them to be all on the screen at one time (same frames) and I need them each to be able to play a different mp3 The user will not be able to decide which mp3, this is all 'hard coded' into the fla file.So how can I do this and get access to each individual movie's controls?
For example when I use the slider on the first player, I only want the volume to change on the first mp3.Would I even have to worry about this in the big file that has all three movies in it?I mean could I just code the volume slider to work right in the mp3 player file and then the bigger movie file will automatically know that when the volume slider is moved, only to affect the voume of the first mp3?if i do it that way, would I have to save out 3 different versions of the mp3 player file. one with '1.mp3', say, hard coded into it, another with '2.mp3' hard coded into it, etc?

im using adobe air for android.
my problem is (for now) i have a sprite with animation (7 frames) and two buttons. One button moves the sprite right at 15 units on mouse down, the other moves him backwards.
two things..
1. When i release the mouse, the sprite stops mid-animation, with 1 foot in the air. how do i get it to complete its cycle after the button has been released?
2. is there a way to flip, horizontally, my sprite so when i click the LEFT arrow, he turns around? Or do i have to mirror the sprites myself as new images?

first time someone visits the site they get 1.swf
second time they visit the ste they get 2.swf
third time they visit the site they get 3.swf
and everytime after that they get the same pattern 1, 2, 3.

I have recently launched a site for a client which includes an interactive flash element on the home page but it takes a long time to load (10-30seconds). I have followed advice from others about keeping image small and link movies rather than embed but still slow, the swf file is about 7.9mb which i thought was ok for the size of flash file. Does anyway else know where I have gone wrong whether it be the embedding or some other area.

We moved our F4V files to a different server and I reconnected all the SWF files to them using CS4 without any issue. I just upgraded to CS5 and when I save files the same way I did with CS4, the files preview fine locally but when I post online, the video does not work. Was there some new step added to CS5 that I'm missing? Even if I go to the CS4 SWFfile directly on the server, it plays but the new one does not. I thought maybe Premiere CS5 was the culprit but if I connect an old F4V file and save as a CS5 SWF, it's just a white screen. I even tried importing the video from scratch and still nothing.
