Professional :: Create A Bones Structure For 2d Charactor?
Sep 30, 2010
I'd like to know what is the best way for me to create a bones structure on a simple stickman. I've tried various ways but cannot get the hang of it and I'm usually stuck with unable to add a limb or something other, below is a simple representation of my stickman. I want all joints on the body to be movable, including both feet and the head. I just don't know where to start. My best so far was attempting to start at the hips and move up to the neck and then the head second but that didn't work out.
I'm in the process of learning how to use Flash Pro and i've come accross a problem, i've made my charactor walk accross the screen with motion tween the i wanted it to stop and tart talking but it says i can't do this in tween mode or something.
So this is the image i want to add bones to so i can animate it... but any way i convert or anything i still cant add the bone,, the bone just dissapears when i drag it.
I am working on a character that I will animate with bones. I painted the parts (left them as vector shapes), kept them all separate from each other on different layers and not touching. Added bones to each part. Flash made the armature layers each time. This is all inside a movie clip.I now want to copy and paste each part with bones/armature into a new movie clip so I can make mini animations, like a walk cycle, for example with out having to keep redoing all of my work. Somehow - I did this once.
I selected, copied, switched into the empty movieclip pasted it and there is was - armature layer, bones with object. All there. Moves fine When I tried to do it with the next part on a new layer, it just copied the vector shape with no bones. It is making me crazy. How do I copy and paste or duplicate an armature? I did it once, so I can be done...I included screen shots of the parts and the new movie clip - the body went with the bones (automatically made an armature layer when pasting) the leg did not.Attachments:creen shot 2010-01-01 at 2.51.20 PM.png (38.1 K)
I've been trying to figure out how to add a bone in the middle of an armature. Currently I have a bone from the neck to the shoulder, but would like to add an bone in between the neck and shoulder. Does anyone know how to insert the bone without having to reconstruct the entire branch?
When animating a bone system armature: how do you move the Pose keyframes on the timeline to tweak the animation and timing?I've tried everything I could think of and it just won't let me move the Pose keyframes forward or backward in time.
When I close the file (making sure to save) and reopen it. All the frame #'s attributed to the hand symbol revert back to frame 1.Meaning I have to redo every hand pose again and again and again. More importantly when the animation is approved and I send it off, when the client opens it the animation is incomplete.
[URL] I just watched a tutorial where they apply bnes to deform a "bitmap" image. Their image didn't distort like my image. Why is this happening. I imported an image then I "selected "break apart" and then I added bones to it. When I move the bones it makes the image distort, but in this tutorial here the image doesn't distort. What is wrong?
I have a game design project that I have to animate characters for. The Bone tool in Flash seems like the perfect tool for the job! Here's my problem: I can draw things in Flash and rig them with the Bone tool and animate them fine. However, I'm much more comfortable with Illustrator. But whenever I try to bring in external artwork, I get lots of errors.Create (solid color, single object) body parts as layers in Illustrator. Import Illy file to stage in Flash. Drag bone tool across body. Body is highlighted but I can't connect the other objects. I realize the Armature is only above the body layer and all the other layers are on top. Drag Armature layer to top. Still no luck. The bone just doesn't care about the other objects.Should I make all the elements into MovieClips? That hasn't worked when I've tried it. Should I import differently? Should I make the entire character into a movieclip and then rig the instance on the stage?
I'll be exporting it to PNGs at the end, so I don't need it to be robust down the line.I get other errors with other importing methods too, but I can't recall them ("Can't connect...something" when using a PSD).
I'm kinda new to flash but i managed to create a structure of my website, do frame break ups, do layers and frames for content and so on.The thing is, when i create a text box, convert it to a button and, use a goto option and select the frame i want it to go to...nothing happens. Design view clearly shows that it's a button but when i played a test movie, buttons didn't work at all. I could highlight them but that's about it. Even when i click on them nothing happens.I tried publishing in HTML but no luck either.I use flash 10 with actionscript 2.0 in Adobe Flash CS4.[code]
I want to take any Text sting and form from it text formed by particles in actionscript 3 (In flash flex) I see I need some lib for this. but all libs Ive seen do not have such functionalyty by default...
So I want to get something like this
So Is there any sych lib? or way of doing it with some lib?
It should be Free and Opensource (any license like GPL, LGPL etc will be ok).
Does any one know of an article's on the element's / structure needed to create a flash , php , MySQL cms ? I failed to mention flash would be the GUI for the CMS
I seem to run into compile issues in Flash Builder when I import 3rd-party libraries at the wrong level in the directory structure. For example, sometimes I'll import a library one level too deep into its directory tree, and the package explorer ends up excluding the prefix root-level package, usually "com." or "net.". Even though the content of the source itself doesn't change, this will cause compile errors.
Thus: Is it a 1) convention or 2) language requirement that a class's package structure (e.g., "foo.bar.Class") must match its path location (e.g., foo/bar/Class.as)? If it's a language requirement, why is it a requirement? Wouldn't that overdetermine the package structure, since it is already specified in the source code and quite happily consuming the first three to eight columns of each line? If it's not a language requirement, are my compile errors just a result of Flash Builder enforcing the convention?
I want to create a table like structure in Flex, with labels as header. The rows entries might be a check box or a text input box,Like give below.[code]Or can I create a data grid and have text input boxes or check boxes as column values?
I am trying to import a video in to flash. I have converted it to a flv and used the stream from flash media server option and selected a standard play and stop bar. I have imported it in and it works find when you just select the individual swf that it loads into. The problem im having is that when I go to it through the home page, all the page loads apart from the video. I've tried moving it around, moving where all the assets to the video are etc. I know the file structure is important to this working. I have a main folder called interactive / and in that have a FLA and a SWF folder and the swf and fla home page. Currently I have the the video swf in the swf folder with the flv and the play and stop swf.
I have now tried to animate a human character made of movie clips using the bones tool 3 times from scratch and every time it has gone extremely buggy. I move an arm and other parts of the body randomly move to different positions. I fix one arm then I notice other parts of the body are all screwed up.
an animation created with the Bones tool. I'm using a bone system to deform a shape. In the meantime I decided that the color of the IK shape should be other than the current one. Nonetheless I can't find a way to change its color while maintaining the shape within the armature.
I just recently got the trial version of Flash CS4, and I want to know.. Is it possible to animate a joint with simple position scripting(just editing the x and y coordinates), while letting the bones tool take care of the rest of the animation, eg. joint rotations etc. Or does the bones tool only work in the document stage? (I would try.. but I find that I can barely make an onEnterFrame in AS3.. This jump from AS2 to 3 really is quite big.)
1. Is it possible to mix shapes and movieclips in a IK-skeleton? In other words, connect shapes and movieclips?
2. When bending a shape with a couple of bones too much, the shape will become transparent at places it overlaps itself. Is there any way to prevent this? I want to create bodies that bend in all sorts of ways but I don't want to see through the shape at places where it overlaps itself.
3. It will not look very realistic if all body parts just can rotates 360 degrees around the z-axis. They should be able to scale down to create a 3D-illusion.Is it possible to resize the length of a bone and at the same time make the movieclip to also shrink in one axis?
4. Look at the file. Is there any way to prevent the body from being stretched out when he lifts the arms?
I have a Flex project that is the application master for my site. It loads a swf I built in Flash which has a runtime bones animation using a Loader. The runtime bones work if they are loaded without Flex.
Is there a way to make bones work if they are loaded by Flex?
Created a runtime bone animation (more complicated than the one included in this example). When I loaded the swf using the Loader class in master application, the runtime animation stopped working.I included my source files for the bones, and another fla that only calls the Document class Main.as.Try running bonesRuntime.html, and the runtime bones work; call bonesSwfLoader.html and only the authortime bones work.
I'm trying to create a flash program that uses it's own code to send and create images. Each square has a colour and that colour gets added into the array. A black, then grey, then white is:
filecode = ["Bl", "Gr", "Wh"];
That works fine, but when I try to paste it into an Input text box it will only fill in the first part of the array.
filecode = ["Bl,Gr,Wh"];
So the program has NO idea what I want. The only ways I can think of fixing this is by putting in 402 text boxes to suit every box...But every one of them needs a Variable Name.Or by sending the information straight into the array. But this way you are just looking at what you just drew, and that is not at ALL practical.
In Flash CS5.5 can you use Actionscript to "pin up" bones with a (x,y) & (x,y) command? If not I think this would be a great feature for an CS5.5 version!
I'm not sure if this is technically a web service or not but I have a Flash file that periodically needs to make a round trip to a DB. As it stands, AS3 uses the URLLoader class to exchange XML with an ASP.NET/VB file on the server. The aspx code then goes to the DB and returns whatever information is requested back to the Flash file.As my program grows and I need to execute a larger variety of tasks on the server, I'm wondering if I should just keep placing functions in that same aspx file and specify in AS3 which function I should load for any given task. OR, is it better to break up my functionality into several different aspx files and call the appropriate file for the task? Are there any obvious pros and cons to either method that I should consider?
I have a XML file with images and tags which should be loaded into movieclips. The tags are separated in maintags and normal tags. Maintags are describing the image itself and "normal" tags are referring to other images. If you click on an image/movieclip its normal tags should be read and referring to other images' maintags which now should be loaded into the movieclips.Sounds complicated but actually it's easy. Theoretically I understand what to do, but I'm not able to express it in Actionscript. Here's my(rudimentary) code:
