I have Flash CS4, but the tutorial I used to create this used Action Script 2.0.[URL] This is just a basic mockup of the site, but you can see that the client wants to have images of the pages of their publication that you can browse and have their advertising be clickable so it takes you to Coke's site for example. The example you see there I did in Flash, but I was having trouble making the hotspots be active at the right time -- i.e. right now Morningside market is clickable even when the image is not up, and then it goes away and the hotspots I have on Coke aren't working.
The client also wants to have links to each page by number i.e. Front Cover/1-2/2-3. So I saw that that part would be easy to do in Fireworks, but can't figure out the clickable aspect. Then on the other hand, in Flash, I can't get it all to work either.
I'm creating sort of a game in Flash, which requires invisible hotspots changing their position in time, relative to the stage. The question is: can I simply keyframe the hotspot position and have it work, or is there something that I should consider?
I have two hotspots, one partially overlapping the other. The top one is set to listen for MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER. The bottom one is set to listen for MouseEvent.CLICK.Both work correctly in the non-overlapping area and I can get one or the other to work in the overlapping area by changing the order of the layers but I can't figure out how to get a click in the overlapping area to get through to the lower hotspot, the top one always captures the mouse event. I tried playing with the parameters for the 'addEventListener', 'useCapture' and 'priority', with no success.I am now trying to use'getObjectsUnderPoint()' but so far can't figure out how to make that work either.
I'm trying to create a simple photos gallery.I load a new picture into the scene using loadMovie function. X and Y coordinates are custom for each photo so it would be centered nicely. The size of the picture is different too. It means, we have 4 variable distances here (question marks in the graph).Now the hard part.I want to divide a loaded picture into two sides and convert them into two different hotspots. I'll be using these hotspots for prev/next buttons.
I need to add 'mouseover' interactivity to an .flv video - here's what i need and what I'm guessing I should do, but don't know how as yet:> I need to add mouse 'hotspots' to items in a video when the items appear. The hotspots would include external weblinks>> My guess is that I could add cuepoints to the flv which dynamically load mc's from the library - the mc's would need to be invisible until mouseover wherein they animate/reveal a list of links.
I want to use an flv, not embed video into the fl, as I need to utilise flv streaming.The mc mouseover would be bog standard stuff, but I just don't know how to call mc's from the library in an flv.
I have an external text and i want to make some hotspots in this text preferably with actionsscript in flash so the next functions can be added in flash:
when somebody goes over it with the mouse it displays the position and some hover text and when the mouse goes over it or selects/clicks it, thats has to be registert. I think some of these functions can easily be made in flash so thats why flash has to identify the specific word in the text file.
So i have the text: "this is an example text" and i want flash to identify "example" as an hotspot or clickable word, when the mouse goes over it, it should display position and something should remember that the word has been clicked.
Is there any way to set up a variable for this? Or another method to do it?
basically i got this video i need to make interactive, where the user will be able to click on hotspots in a video as it scales -- any possible ideas or directions?
The idea i got is if i know my hotspot is initially at x:700 y:300, and the video scales, i just move it over by that much of a factor -- from what my current resolution was to my new resolution?
I found this program called Flash Slideshow maker professional and it is very easy to put together etc. I try to add it into dreamweaver but when I try to select the Go Live button in dreamweaver its blank instead of my flash slideshow.
I am trying to create a slideshow that goes through the large images on it own using a timed interval and also have thumbnails of the large images that you can click on to take you directly to that image.I have create a slideshow with thumbnails that you can click on to view the large image but I want the large images to move automaticly when you start and then use the thumbnails to move between pictures
I'm new to Flash and I need to learn how to do a slideshow with exactly the same features as can be found in this link: [URL]. Just like at the link above, it needs to play through the slides automatically once the page is loaded, each slide needs to link to a specific URL, and I need controls similar to the boxes at the bottom so the viewer can click on any specific slide they wish to view (I'd like to have numbers in the boxes though). The transitions don't have to slide across like this. If a fade is easier, that would be fine.
Actually, I thought I'd be able to do this fairly easily with Flash Catalyst, so I updated to Adobe CS5 Design Premium. I found that Flash Catalyst can be used to create a slide show like this, but unfortunately it won't play automatically when the page loads and the viewer has to manually click through the slides, which is not what I need. I could be wrong, but from what I've read, I need Flash Builder to add code so the slide show will play automatically if I create it in Flash Catalyst.
I want to create a slideshow of 5 images, with black fade effect in between. So from black to image to black to the next image and so on. Then it stops on the last image. I dont want any buttons or any interactions.

If you click on the "Issues" link, you will see a slideshow comes up.
If you click on the "Campaign" link, you will a page come up with links on the side, and a bare space to the left.
In the blank space, there is supposed to be a slideshow to come up. When I test the site on my computer, it comes up perfectly fine. But, when I load it to the server, it does not show up.
The ONLY difference in these pages is that the "Campaign" page is a scrollable page, where as the "Issues" page is not. I have tried to resize the scrollable page, and move it to the right side of the page, but it makes the text unreadable- even after resizing the box, and such. I have tried to change the slideshow into a symbol. I've tried a couple of other things, but to no avail.
I have this flash slideshow on my that was created using a 3rd party software. I'm trying to find out does anyone know of 3rd flash creator that creates a slideshow such as this one.I'm referring to the flash that's located in the bottom of the screen
I have tried several navigation scripts and z-index all over the place but no matter what I try the sub-folders of my navigation on my homepage always gets hidden by the slideshow. I am looking to develop a simple flash progrma that allows me to create custom slide shows on the fly. I have about 8 different countries that i have photos for and I want to have a front page that via checkboxes you can select the countries to view which will then populate a slideshow/gallery with the relevant photos.
I want to trim a sound and then let it loop in a slideshow. The sound -- a roaring crowd at a soccer game-- should loop as a slideshow plays. As the movie repeats the sound should continue to play. It doesn't have to be in sync.
This works if I use Streaming, but there's a gap at the beginning of the movie as if the sound was being loaded over and over again.
I've been advised not to use Streaming, but if I don't, the sound is reproduced in its entirety-- there is no trimming.
I have a nice as3 swf that reads and xml file, and loads images with transitionsfor a slide show on an html banner page.This works fine. There are some users that see white space (the stage) before thefirst image loads. Depending on the clients connection, etc this can take aslong as 2 or 3 sec.
I was thinking about placing a jpeg in the fla, and adding it to the stageas a symbol or graphic, so instead of white space (or a color other than white)the user sees an image on the page, and when the xml loader places the first image on the page, the user sees the image, and the slideshow, etc.
I'd like the slideshow to have a black boarder box with a white background. I've got two buttons which I have made in Photoshop for previous and next image. I want the background of the slideshow to be white and images to be placed into this box for the user to be able to manually go through the images.

3. I understand how to create a square button over text and mess with its up/down/over/click settings, but I am wondering how I can do something like change the color of the text when it is clicked or when the mouse is over it? Right now I only know how to change the color of the square button.
A client is asking for a slideshow to embed into a web page. The slideshow will have a thumbnail bar with arrows on either side to switch to the next or previous batch of thumbnails.This slideshow needs to be linked to an external file that will contain pictures submitted by visitors to the site. The pictures will automatically generate thumbnails that will call a large version of the image when clicked on.My current knowledge about flash and AS3 coding does not enable me to do this. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not possible at all. It sounds like something that needs to be handled by a content management system.

I'm looking for a program that makes Flash slideshows without needing Flash experience, a nice drag-drop-like interface. The reason is I am making a website, where the top banner will be a rotating slideshow that the client will need to be able to update regularly. I've tried a variety of programs but run into the same issue: I need each slide in the show to have the photo on one side, with text on the other (much like the slideshow on [URL] page). But in most programs, the photo always takes up the entire slide and text can only go over the photo with very few formatting options.
I've currently made a slideshow. I'm able to switch images in the slideshow with back and next buttons, however, I want it to autoplay properly. I've found a script that seems to work, but it switches images very rapidly.I want each image to stay on screen for 3 seconds before it changes.Here's the script i'm using
