I need to put a key frame in an .flv file
More specifically, I'm just converting a video into FLV using the Adobe Media Encoder. I'm primarily a web designer, not a video guy, I've always just used the built in Insert FLV function in Dreamweaver to put Flash Video in. However, when autoplay is off I need to know how to control what frame shows up on the front of the video before it starts playing.
I have a simple flash that has 2 layers 2 images. one image is on the first frame and the other image is on the second keyframe. Actionscript starts on 1st keyframe. What I have it doing is loading frame one stop() reads the actionscript checks the date if the date is met it goes and stops on frame 2 and plays other image:
Everytime the flash refreshes it plays frame one then jumps to frame 2 if the date is met. How do I avoid playing frame one if the date is met what it's doing is playing the first image before the date change and a split second after it plays frame 2. (you see a hiccup)
i need the flash to "preload, check the actionscript before it loads if the date is met automataclly go to frame 2 avoiding frame one all together.

I've recently made a website for a friend and she wants a video to play on one of the frames. It is in the library and the video plays when i test the movie on my laptop, however, I have now uploaded the .swf file website to a host along with the video and it isn't playing. Any ideas how to sort this out? Not completely sure myself! Using Flash CS4 with Actionscript 2.0 if that makes any difference to anything.
View 9 RepliesI am not sure how to accomplish what I need. I'm developing an iOS video app. I will package ALL videos with the ipa.I created a net connection and net stream successfully. I'm importing them into an array. They play perfectly. However, I need a way to mask out the main interface. Ideally, I'd like to drop that video into a dynamically called movie clip that has the controls in it. I made one called holder_mc.(There are no controls in it yet.) I cannot seem to get that on screen at the right z-index (not sure if that's the right term). I tried creating an empty movie clip and putting the video in it. That did not work either. This has to be simple.
View 1 RepliesI've imported a Quicktime video clip into my scene. I want to slide this video clip in from off screen and have it stop at center stage using keyframes. When I use keyframes to move a video clip - the playback of the clip resets to it's first frame at every keyframe. Is it possible to move a rolling video clip using keyframes without altering the playback of the clip?
View 2 Repliesmy video starting at the first keyframe (it starts at kf 10). I was trying to solve this for more than an hour and cant. I think the problem somehow has to do with the fact my animations stops at keyframe 10, so I added a code snippet that stops the scene at 10. Dont get why this would start the video at 10, but cant seem to figure out any other reason, when I remove code snippet, all scenes start to play, but each scene moves too fast (since they are only graphs) so I cant test if the action layer is the issue.

View 1 RepliesI have a video object that dynamically changes. I want to put that inside of a movieclip that is always 320,240 no matter what the video object size is. I want the video object to increase or decrease but I always want to display it at 320,240. How would I write this? I tried:

But the video object still is large (my video object is 480,360 in this case). It seems like it is not nested inside of the the videoDisplay sprite which should only be 320,240.
i am creating a game now this is complex but i have been told by my fellow actioncript co worker that its doable, What it is i have a game "Reaction Tester" and It is inside a car going along the road so its psudeo 3d and i have the "walls" and road sorted now i want a movie clip in the road to throw out random objects From a Movie clip, now i will call them from frame names, say..
frame 1-10 is a tween with a box coming down and then frame 11-20 is a cat and frame 21-30 is a hole in the road Etc i want it to call a random frame to frame, to play
i'm making a game and to score some extra performance im rendering every frame of every entity into an array of bitmapdata's the first time the frame is seen, and it works well, but its wasting alot of memory because we have alot of animations, and most of them are double framed at least, so more than half of the bitmaps could be ignored if there was a way to determine if a frame is a keyframe or not

View 3 RepliesI'm making a presentation in Flash that needs to be put on a DVD, which we will given to people in my organization to view at home. The presentation will not contain any interactivity. It will have text, music, video, and narration.
The videos will be short and contain sound, should I embed them in the fla file? I planned to break the presentation into scenes to make it easier to manage, and so they'll just play one after another. My computer can burn DVDs, so I was just going to export the swf to DVDS.

View 1 RepliesI'm doing a project using FLARManager augmented reality and the Papervision3D library. Unfortunately, Papervision is giving me a lot of problems.My scene3D contains a DAE model and a plane. The plane has a MovieMaterial and is playing a video through FLVPlayback. The DAE and the plane are both inside the same DisplayObject3D container. FLARManager transforms the container so that everything appears through the angle of the marker.
My DAE model is a TV, the screen of the TV is transparent. I want to have my Plane inside of my DAE model, so that the Movie playing on the plane material appears to be what is playing on the TV.The problem is that, even if the plane has a lower Z index then the TV, it always appears in front of the TV.
How do I have my plane and its MovieMaterial appear behind the TV, so that some of its corners are cut out by the TV and the part of the TV thats transparent let me see the Movie? If its impossible, anyone has an idea of how I could get the desired effect of having a movie play on the screen of my DAE tv model?
I have a flash header on my site - nothing crazy, just a short clip. It works in safari and opera on the mac and all IE versions on PC. It will not work properly on firefox on either PC or Mac. Firefox seems to be putting a gap of 10-20px under the flash I have looked up many fixes for this as it seems to be a known problem. I have seen people say it's because the "object" element it treated like letters in FF, so it allows room for the "tails" on a G and Y etc (not sure if I explained that well enough, hopefully you get the idea). I have tried margin:0; padding:0; line-height:0; font-size:0;
float:left; vertical-align:middle; and clear;both; - not at the same time, I have tried many combinations and got most of these ideas from other threads/articles where people had found a solution. I have tried this CSS on an id attached to the object, on the element object and on the parent div - I just can't seem to fix it! Also, as a side note - I've noticed the flash looks good in IE6, IE7 but IE8 makes it looks awful - can anyone explain why or confirm that is what they see? Im a mac user so borrow a laptop to test, it would be good to hear if anyone else see's this problem.
im having problems putting sounds in my flash game....im using flash MX and im making a tile based RPG game ....i got the background music playing in the first map...but when my character enters the second map, the music stops and play all over again in the beginning.....i want the music to be continously playing while the character is on map 1 and map 2...how can i remedy this? im using this simple A.S for the bg music in map 1:

i tried to remove the line stopAllSounds();....as a result, the music became overlapping when the character transfers from one map to another. Also is there any other way to make maps easier?. coz ryt now im using 2-dimensional arrays for my map....i only have two 640x480 maps now and it's starting to get confusing editing them
I'm doing a lot of keyframe masking of vines/flowers for a project I'm working on, and it looks really good but is, of course, very time consuming.I'm curious if there's any techniques/tools for making these animations faster, and more importantly making them more editable later. I'm afraid I'm going to keyframe out entire sections of animation only for the client to say "Looks great, but can you speed it up just a touch?" and I'll have to rebuilt it all from scratch again.

View 3 RepliesI have 2 'getURL' functions on one keyframe, one a text (converted) button, the other an image. They are both next to one-another however only the text (converted) one works. The top bit of code is the text (converted) button:

The code for each is exactly the same, I have checked instance names, tried different url's and even created an invisible button for the image based one. I have also tried putting the buttons on the same layer.
I worked again on a new Project and stumbled while trying Arrays. I have two cubes(cube_mc, cube2_mc) in my scene.

View 2 RepliesI understand that motion tween is a new form of tween in CS 4 however I am unable to move a keyframe within the time line? am I missing something? I would hope I could select the keyframe (diamond shape) and move it around the timeline but apprently Im missing something.. I am not able to do a cut and copy either... is this normal behavior?
