Transparent PNG To Overlay Dynamically Loaded Gallery?

Jun 20, 2011

There are buttons on either side that scroll the dynamically loaded images left and right. The script is compiled from an external AS file which I've pasted below.

What I need to do is load a transparent png over top of the images but underneath the buttons. I've inserted a graphic below. I've tried inserting the png directly in the timeline as well as loading it dynamically in to a movie clip. The overlay always comes out on the bottom. [code]...

How do I disable this? I have tried contentBackgroundAlpha="0" and backgroundAlpha="0" with no luck. anyone know what the proper syntax is for disabling this transparency? I have been searching through the docs for a 30 minutes now looking for it.

I'm trying to figure out how to make a configurable wrapper or container file that I can simply pass variables such as

It seems simple enough, and I'm half way there ( I can get external movies to load ) however the transparent button is over my head ( read: I'm a complete noob ).[code]...

I've tried hardcoding a url into getURL as well but it doesnt' seem to be recognizing that there's even a button there.. is that because there's a new movie being loaded?

I am new to Flash and am trying to make a page that has a fullscreen image gallery with individual thumbs along the bottom. I can more or less figure this out using some templates,but I need to do this for over 50 different projects, each with anywhere from 1-100 images.Is it possible to make more of a container that dynamically loads from a folder of images rather than have to make each one by hand?

I have a .jpg graphic in a movieclip on layer two (1024/768). This is used as a background.I have a .jpg scrolling movieclip on layer one. It is a very wide graphic used for displaying a panorama.I would like to be able to create, dynamically using actionscript, a transparent area on the layer two movieclip (create a window) to view the underlying movieclip.I believe this is possible using the Rectangle class in the flash.geom.rectangle but I can't figure out how to attach it to the layer two movieclip or how to make it transparent so shows the underlying scrolling graphic.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Transparent PNG Image Loaded With LoadClip

Feb 11, 2009

I want to load a PNG image using loadClip() and place it into a movieclip. After the image is loaded I set an event handler, in this case onPress. Now my problem is that the onPress event activates whereever I click on this loaded PNG image. All I want it to do is to only fire the event if I press on a non-transparent area of the PNG image. In the end, I want to load a background image and put this PNG image over it. The PNG image shall act like a mask which tells the background image where I can click and where I'm not supposed to. But before I can do that I need to recognize transparent areas of an imported PNG image.

ActionScript 3.0 :: .swf File Loaded After The First One Comes In Partially Transparent?

Nov 22, 2009

I have a flash site (portfolio), and it uses buttons to load/remove different .swf file (it is an XML gallery that I did not write.) It works perfectly - the FIRST time I load/unload a .swf . . . however, every .swf file loaded after the first one comes in partially transparent (it normally fades in), but otherwise the .swf is fully functional. Each .swf has it's own unique name/images, but is otherwise identical to the original gallery. It doesn't matter which one I open first - the first one is always correct, the rest, not. Also, the degree of transparency varies randomly, but generally seems to hover somewhere around 1/2 way.

[code]...

I know that something in the XML gallery is causing this (switch to a completely different .swf and the transparency issues go away), but I also think that I am likely not unloading the .swf correctly and that some part of it is remaining in the memory and creating issues when it is used more than once.

Dynamically Loading Gallery Using XML File

Sep 17, 2009

I have started putting together a flash based website to present my works. I am dynamically loading thumbnails and the larger companions using an XML file. Everything seems to work fine on my comp but when I upload it to my host sever the larger images do not want to load and on occasion a page of thumbnails doesnt want to load. My address is [URL]. Also the code I am using only places one image atop another, so when I click on a thumbnail it will place the larger image on top of the last it does not take the previous one away. which can be a problem if one image is smaller than the last. or if I wanted to load movie clips.

Here is the AS of one page.
//XML Trails stuff
//var to hold Tween;
var fadeTweenPhotoP1:Tween
// Creating image txtfield
var imageTextPhotoP1:TextField = new TextField();
// Instance of loader class
var imageLoaderPhotoP1:Loader;

Actionscript 3 :: Draw Transparent Graphics Onto Transparent BitmapData?

Feb 5, 2012

I'm trying to draw PNGs onto BitmapData that is transparent.

I create my BitmapData like this (using ARGB for the color):

new BitmapData(width, height, true, 0x00000000);

And clean it by using the same ARGB value:

bitmapData.fillRect(bitmapData.rect, 0x00000000);

When I use copyPixels() to draw graphics onto the cleaned BitmapData, I get this result:

If I don't use ARGB for the BitmapData color, it works fine:

But I have to specify a solid fillColor, meaning I can't render what's behind the Bitmap.

How can I make my BitmapData transparent, but not have the above occur?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Remove Transparent Pixels From Transparent Png?

Feb 27, 2010

I am creating a map in flash cs4 with all the countries on it. I used photoshop for creating the map and separated countries. Now I imported all pngs in Flash and I want to give Mouse CLICK event and Mouse Hover on all pngs, but as the transparent pixels are overlapping the other states, it is getting difficult. So, I converted all pngs in movieclips and now then I broke up pngs. Now I want to delete all pixels having alpha 0 using eraser tool, as per the borders. And I have to do it manually for individual countries. So is there a way to remove transparent pixels from the bitmap data?

Actionscript 2.0 :: Creating A Gallery Of Images/sound Clips Which Load Dynamically?

Jan 18, 2009

So I've been working on a Flash-based web portfolio for my sound design work, and I'm creating a gallery of images/sound clips which load dynamically (that way I don't need to recompress the swf file every time I add/remove a production). I'm having trouble with checking to see if files exist; for example, I want to check if a sound file exists, and if it does, set the alpha property of a symbol to 100%, and if it doesn't, set the alpha property of that symbol to 25%.

The code I'm using works fine when I test the file locally, but as soon as I upload the file and test it, the movie responds as if a file exists even when it doesn't, and I can't figure out why.

ActionScript 2.0 :: PreCache XML Loaded Data, Gallery?

Jul 3, 2007

I got another XML gallery thrown at me this week and am thinking of adding a new feature.When a user clicks on a gallery it will load the first image, and continue to load all of the images so they won't have to wait each time they hit next, as it would be in their cache. this link has been thrown around a lot, but I don't think this feature (which is an awesome feature, oh yes) has been addressed. Goto one of the galleries and wait for it to load, and then keep hitting next. The pictures load before you get there. You can catch up to the unloaded ones and reach a loader bar if you hit next enough times

ActionScript 2.0 :: Wipe Effect Between Loaded Jpg's In Gallery

Feb 10, 2005

[URL]

Click on the first and second thumbnail a few times so that everything is loaded (I didn't use preloaders etc for now).Notice the wipe when you click the thumbnail? I spent already a long time to create this :-)But now I want it to wipe out if you click another button, then wipe in again to show that new image etc... (like it is now, you have a white flash, really annoying).Here's my code that is on frame 1 of the timeline (I only have 1 frame in the timeline)

[Code]...

'navi' is the MC with all the buttons in it. 'vol01' and 'vol02' are instance names of the first two buttons. 'container' is an empty movieclip. 'wiper' is a white MC of which I change the width with actionscript = wiping effect.For now I load .swf files instead of jpg's, because when I put ("pic_01.jpg") instead of ("pic_01.swf"), it doesn't work. (edit: I found it, my jpgs were progressive...)

So basically what I want when the first pic is shown and you click on thumbnail2:

-wipe out image currently displayed
-load new image (pic_02)
-AFTER new image is fully loaded, wipe in to show this image and so on

What would be cool also is the following:

when you click button 2, load image 2 while image 1 is still displayed. When loading is finished, a white line goes from left to right, wiping out image 1 and at the same time wiping in image2.Note that there will be 4 of these galleries with +-80 thumbnails each...I read the transitions between external swf's tutorial, but I want to load a bunch of jpg's, and not make 4*80 swf's with each only 1 jpg in it...
