Actionscript 3 :: Building Flash Video Player With Amazon Cloudfront To Stream MP4?
Aug 2, 2010
So I have a working Flash player using Cloudfront, AS3, NetConnection & NetStream. Works with a FLV, but I need it to work with MP4s. It connects to the stream, and outputs the following:
I've written a little OSMF player that streams via RTMP from Amazon Cloudfront. There's a known issue, the mp3 duration is not correctly readed from metadata and thus the seek function is not working. I know there's a workaround implying the use of getStreamLength function of NetConnection, which I successfully implemented in a previous non-OSMF player, but now I don't know how and when to call it, in terms of OSMF Events and Traits. This code is not working:
I'm building a Flash mp3 player to handle streaming mp3s served by Amazon CloudFront (which uses Flash Media Server). I'm using an FLVPlayback 2.5 component to do most of the heavy lifting (I tried an all AS3 method, but any stream automatically stopped within 5 - 10 seconds of playing). When I trace out the FLVPlayback's totalTime property, I get NaN. This is causing the seek bar to simply not work. This only seems to affect mp3s, as when I load an FLV I get a real value for totalTime. Does anyone know why this is happening
im looking for a Flash Video player that can play Live Stream Video .... i follow the video basic 6 but wasnt sure which part of the link i have to put on ns.play("link here"); this the link i got from the stream
s1.addParam('flashvars','&file=livestream&bufferlength=3&type=rtmp&streamer=rtmp://w.fl.misolutions.net/wn-live01/'); i dont which part i should used to replace "link here"
I'm building videochat functionality for a site, using Wowza as the streaming server. I've noticed that when I use the chat on a page hosted on another machine (EC2 in this case) it pixelates, but when I just view a local html file referencing a local copy of the player, there's no problem. I'm not sure why, because even the local copy of the player is sending an outgoing video stream and reading another stream from the streaming server. The only differences between the perfect quality/annoyingly pixelated versions are:
The actual page is hosted locally/nonlocally The .swf file is hosted locally/nonlocally. Does anyone know if downloading the flash player degrades the streams that play in it? And if so, is there any way to get around this?
Does anyone know how to embed a custom video player into the Google Plus' Stream? You can share videos by uploading, via YouTube, or from your phone, but you can also embed the Vimeo player into the stream, for instance, by just dropping the Vimeo video's URL into the Stream.I assume Google is parsing the markup of the URL for specific meta so that it can render it as a video, much like you can do with Facebook's Open Graph:
is it possible to play video stream from non-adobe(or homebrew server), in the newest flash player(10).It looks like the VideoPlayer only plays the stream from FMS? Is it the business model of Adobe?
I'm trying to force the Flash player to play video files without showing screens. I did try to set vidDisplay.visible to false. But it seemed not working at all.I was doing was try to build a generic media player. Whatever the source is(audio or video), the control panel always the same, namely, a mp3 player panel is always displayed:However, when I stream in a video file, it would end up overriding mp3 panel with a partial video screen. I don't have enough reputation to upload images...
I have a VLC player streaming my webcam video through RTSP on 5544 port, the video is encapsulated with MPEG-TS and compressed with MPEG-4 for both audio and video (as is VLC's default I suppose)You can access the streaming video with the following URL:[URL] All is working till here. I could also change transport protocol/incapsulation, that's not a problem since VLC allows me to do it.I want to develop a silverlight player (preferred) or a flash player capable of reproducing the stream (audio and video).I don't know how to do this. The question is: I could not find a link on the internet on how reproducing a VLC stream with a silverlight(preferred) or flash applet in a web pageSince I'm not a Silverlight/Flash developer.
Recently i had developed an as3 videoplayer for a section of a webpage. The player loads the links for the videos from an xml file. It had been tested locally and it works great. BUT when i uploaded the entire "site" on my web server - surprize The stream does not start. And i don't understand why. I've uploaded the exact structure ... and i also know that it reads well from the xml file, cause it loads the video thubnails and names ... just the video won't start.
stream a video from Youtube and play that video in the player of their choice? I have a client wanting a response for this one, I did check out Youtube and found nothing.
I'm trying to stream live video for the first time. I've installed FMIS 3.5 without Apache 2.2. I'm confused on the RTMP/HTTP protocol usage,I can only have port 80 opened on our FMIS 3.5 box.
I'm playing live stream supporting FMLE from FMS. There is no problem with playing if we are starting at first the player and then we are starting the stream with FMLE. The video skipping problem is occurs only if we are starting first the stream with FMLE and than our player. The versions: FMLE 3.0.1.5963, FMIS 4.0.0, Flash Player 10.1.53.64, and codec h.264 Is this a bug in FMS/FMLE or I'm doing something wrong?
I want to upload directly to an S3 bucket.I know this can be done in AIR,whether it is actually possible in flex in the browser, or will I have to use some code server side to get this going?
Can we compile a SWF for (let's say) Flash Player 11, but still let people with older Flash Player versions run the SWF? E.g. if they have the latest version of Flash Player we will take advantage of the features in that player (eg H264 encoding of video) but if they have an older player we will just use older features (in this case VP6 encoding).
I've tried compiling for the latest version, FP11.0, but when you run this in older Flash Players it complains that libraries aren't available, even though that part of the code is not executed as its placed within a conditional statement which checks the version of the Flash Player. Surely we don't need to compile a SWF for each different Flash Player and have a condition in the HTML page which decides which movie to load?
My client wants to distribute a video to some people, specifically car dealers, but he doesn't want the video to end up on Youtube or something like that. Therefore he wants the recipients of the video to be able to see it only once. My idea to implement this is:Generate a unique key per viewerSend each viewer a link to a page with a Flash based video player, with their key in the URLHave Flash get the video from the server. On the server the key is checked and the file sent (using php's readfile or something equivalent). Then the key is invalidated.I was thinking this wouldn't take more than a day to build.I know that if you want somebody to be able to play something, you implicitly give them the power to record it as well, but the client just wants me to make it as hard as possible.
This will create an flv video file on flash media server:
var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection(); nc.connect(null); var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc); ns.publish("yourCamera", "record"); ns.attachVideo(Camera.get());
How can I generate an image for the current video frame every 2 seconds?
Building a custom skin for a flash video player but I do not want any play pause button. Instead I want the video scroller to play and pause on a click event. Problem is I want to change the graphics on the scroller to show the user when the video is paused and being played? I have attached the video player FLA file.
Is this a typical 'CDN' policy ? Is this to encourage customers to host only such content that is going to be around for quite a while, and going to see probably a million downloads I started looking at AWS Cloudfront for it's ability stream RTMP media (aka Flash server like behaviour) to host video content. That is to say, I am not too concerned about the "distribution close to client" benefit. However, what surprised me is a clause on the AWS Cloudfront pricing page, that says something like the first 1000 'cancellations' (per month) are free. I interpret 'Cancellation' to the be the act of removal of content that I no longer wish to serve via the CDN. Is that right ?
My requirement is the ability to serve media content (streaming audio, streaming video) which isn't shared with general public or a large audience. It is something like each of these files have a lifetime (or relevance) for only few days (a week or so, at most), and each file will be viewed only by a small handful of people/consumers (e.g. 1 file viewed by an average of 3 people, maximum say 10 people). Also the content's privacy needs to be maintained, so an accidentally shared media URL shouldn't allow an unauthorized person to access it. In this case, is it right to assume that CDN is an overkill, not the right solution ?
I was drawn to AWS CF for it low price (at least, low entry price) for RTMP streaming abilities. What other options could I consider. For me, high availability and round-trip-time are secondary... primary concern being cost, i.e. it needs to be as low as possible. On the question of "how low", I'd say low-enough for developing economies, s.a. in Asia, South America and Africa.
The problem is I've a slow internet connection, and the video doesn't buffer like in YouTube. Therefore I was wondering weather I can extract the url of the .flv file which is being streamed in JW Player and directly download it. Doing some preliminary research, I've found the following info:
I have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.
I have the below actionscript almost working for playing mp3s. This isn't dynamic or anything. Just links to songs (from buttons) that should null each other out when clicked on. The first song loads fine. However, the second song will not load. I must be missing something. Or maybe I took the wrong approach? Any help would be great.
I'm currently building a custom flv player and need some help. Maybe I'm missing something, I'm not sure. The main problem is that the FLV doesn't load/play, which most likely causes the secondary problems, such as the bufferClip always visible and no way to test the video and audio scrubbers.
I would like to embedd into our application which is running in DirectX fullscreen player of Flash video stream protected with DRM. How can we achive it? Is it possible to buy library as for Microsoft DRM?
I have a netConnection connected to a Flash Media Server. I am trying to use the new appendBytes function from Flash Player 10.1 to stream a local FLV file to FMS. I'm having issues however... Documentation I get online
function playFile(data:ByteArray):void { // data is bytearray data from an already loaded FileReference object[code]....
However, I'm getting an error with the appendBytesAction and appendBytes. The error is: Error #2004: One of the parameters is invalid....TypeError: Error #2004: One of the parameters is invalid.
I'm creating a music player to be on my website and so far I have it set up as such: The player is contained in a movieclip with a 'song progress bar', a pause and a play button. The songs are played by clicking the song title in a list in the main stage (not contained in the player movie clip), which sends the music player to the frame in which the song starts.
My audio is set as event audio so that the play and pause buttons can be coded as play(); and stop(): respectively which will stop the main player movie clip thus yeilding the progress bar from moving further and the song from playing.
This works just fine, except for the following:
- When I select event as my audio type the quality reduces dramatically Having the audio files in my library and not obtained from some outside source (i.e on my website's server) causes the .fla file to be much larger as well as the .swf Being as my project is at 24 FPS and each song is represented in as many frames as it takesto play the song out, my music player at present has only 3 songs 'in it', and my frames in the movie clip are approaching 20,000 (this is VERY tedious to work with)
I'm sure there is a more efficient way of doing things, but my knowledge is limited. I'd imagine I can do something along the lines of loading .mp3's off of my website into the frame and the play pause buttons will enact more elaborate scripts that not only stop the progress bar but also stop the music from playing temporarily, or something like this. But I have no idea how to implement it
