enter code hereBeen really frustrating just trying to load a swf from a swfloader in Flex and then accessing it's content. I'm sure once I figure out how to do it once then it'll be fine, but I've gone thorugh a bunch of tutorials and somethings not right. Here's my flex code:and the as code:
public function initHeaderSwf():void { trace("INITIATIED");[code]........
Here's the problem: The swf loads, there is no problem there.i see it in my compiled swf. but the complete event doesn't fire. CreationComplete will fire, and then I try, after that, to make a event listener for loading the actual swf, that doesn't fire.I've tried it a variety of different ways with no luck.All I am trying to do is change a text field in the loaded swf.I imagine this might be a problem with the sequence of things loading or something like that, but not sure.
This code works fine in my IDE but when I test it in a browser, the Event.COMPLETE function appears to trigger twice. I put a throw error command in to make it show up in Flash debug Player and the error gets thrown twice. I've even done a string search through the code to see if I've added more than one listener but no luck.
ActionScript Code: private function downloadCompleteHandler(event:Event):void { _s.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, downloadCompleteHandler); // Clean up _s.removeEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, preloaderBar); // Clean up
I am trying to scale a swf that has been loaded via a swfloader. When I get the complete event or the init event the dimensions of the swfloader are still zero. I don't see a value in the dimensions until I do a resize of the browser window. The swf is just an animation. Trying to resize the actual swf content gives inconsistent results.
I have a textfield in flex with a focusOut event on it. I can type in the box and in Firefox and Chrome when I click elsewhere on the page (outside the flash element) the focusOut event will be triggered. However in IE8, the texfield never loses focus when you click elsewhere on the page, outside the flash object. I've tried with focusManager.browserMode set to true and false with no difference (I believe that effects incoming focus anyway).
My flash app (as3, flash9) needs to load images from multiple servers.
When running the site on localhost, the loading of images works, regardless of which address it was loaded from. I can load it from
[URL]
But what does NOT work is to have a "Event.COMPLETE" triggered from the Loader that I use, if the Url of the image is not the same address as the one where I load the flash file from. The image loads and displays, but no COMPLETE or even an ioError event is triggered.
The Following code seems to only be working when i have editable="true" on the Advanced Data Grid. But I don't want it it be editable.
The docs don't say anything about it needing to be editable, and i dont see why it should need to be.
[URL]
a_data_list.addEventListener(AdvancedDataGridEvent.ITEM_FOCUS_IN, clickedRow); public function clickedRow(event:AdvancedDataGridEvent):void { trace("datagrid line was clicked"); }
I made a test where I download a file using URLLoader - something like this:
[Code]....
in the middle of the downloading process I physically disconnect the internet connection. the download stalls - but after aproximately 30 seconds downloadSuccessful is invoked, although only half of the data was downloaded. how can I make sure that the data to be downloaded is complete and correct?
I am loading in binary files with the url class which can be quite large 10mb + and it works fine on my server but another server I am testing on it can sometimes not work. Sometimes it will not load the file and other times it will only load about 20% and it throw a complete event??? Then of course other times it works fine. This server is https maybe that has something to do this it?
I created an image uploader for an app I am working on. I first used php for the server side script, and everything worked fine. I found out afterwards I had to use .net, so I created new serverside scripts. The problem I am having is that my event.COMPLETE listener is never firing. I can receive data back using a DATAEVENT listener, but then it stops at this error: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2036: Load Never Completed.
Here is how I am sending my file. var fileRefReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest(FILE_UPLOAD_TEMP); var fileReqVars:URLVariables = new URLVariables(); fileReqVars.subdir = "Temp"; fileRefReq.data = fileReqVars; fileRefReq.method = URLRequestMethod.POST; fileRef.upload(fileRefReq);
The file definitely gets uploaded to the first TEMP directory, but then it breaks with the above error.
I'm an experienced AS developer, but this is something very basic about flex that I can't figure out. In the class below, I'm not sure why the function imageLoaded would not be executed when the image loads a url. Is there a race condition happening here? The application is completely loaded by the time this object is created and setPicture is called. How can I get the Event.COMPLETE event to fire properly in this case?The line and Log.info functions are conveniences for me, and they definitely work. Here's my MXML definition:
I need to pass along a string with my FileReference, or provide that string as an argument when an event fires. To be clear, it really annoys me that AS3 doesn't allow you to pass parameters on events.Right now, I've extended the FileReference class to include an additional variable. I'm trying to get this to compile, but it won't compile; I think I don't know how to import this class correctly. If you can tell me how to import this class correctly so that I no longer get Error: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant at compile time that would be great.
This is the extended FileReference class: import flash.net.FileReference; public class SxmFR extends FileReference {
So, I'm trying to load resources, add them to a dictionary, and have a drawing method search through that dictionary and draw based on certain predicates. I have a function that iterates through an Vector of Strings, calling on an instance of Loader to load them instantiated as a URLRequest.
private function loadImages(urls:Vector.<String>):void { var loader:Loader = new Loader();
[Code].....
So the issue is: Only the first images in my Vector are drawing. Upon further inspection, I found that the completeHandler was only being called once (I put a trace in the complete handler to check). However, the Loader is invoking load everytime the loop iterates. I tried instantiating separate loaders for each resource, just to see if it would work, but I had no luck with that. Do I need to make separate loaders and event handlers? Or am I just not using Loader correctly?
Is there some way in Flex where I can tell when all of the data has finished binding to my AdvancedDataGrid? I have a bunch of label functions that run and I need to a busy cursor while the grid gets populated. I then want to remove it when it's all done. And also fire another event.
I'm using an HTTP request to download a image in binary format. When the downloading is complete, I want to process it, but I also want to pass the image's ID to the complete handler function.
set some filters on the bitmap after it has been loaded.During development (Debug mode), everything worked and the even has been fired just fine.But now I switched to Release mode and the complete event doesn't fire anymore.To load the image, I set the source property of the image to an URL that points to a PNG image. That does still work in release mode, so the image appears correctly.It's just that the "complete" event doesn't fire, no matter what I try.
I'm using OSMF v.95 to handle my video playback. When my streaming videos finish, the following error is triggered:"NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound"I want to be able to re-play the videoor scrub back, but the stream is unusable after that error.I've tested against a few different streams - here is one:
I am a bit stuck here for the past few days. I have a SWF running in Security.LOCAL_TRUSTED sandbox. I can load my JPEGs and simple SWFs without any problems
how to do this, but I was wondering if there is a way to do the following without setting up an event listener for each textfield...
I have a bunch of input textfields on the stage (50+).
I want flash to gotoAndStop at frame 5 whenever ANY of the text fields have something typed in them.
Possible to do without setting up 50 event listeners? Is it possible to just set up one event listener that is trigerred when any input field on the stage is changed?
I am trying to build a simple application. The first phase is selecting to upload a file from the user desktop or from the site's gallery.
The question is if the user chose to upload from the gallery, say, go to an PHP page gallery, choose a photo and then redirected to the Flash app. How would you trigger the Flash up to know there was an image chosen and it should load it?
Does PHP send a variable or create an XML based on a choice and pass it via Flash variable, or does it need JavaScript to tell Flash that if the Flash var is not empty run this function?
My code is contained in a movie clip that plays an animation on roll over and reverses the animation on roll off. The reverse uses a timer that backs up a frame on the each time event. It works for the most part.
Problem: I tried to use watchTimer.stop(); to end the timer. But the eventListener that tracks timer events keeps triggering which I don't want.
Code: var watchTimer:Timer = new Timer(30); this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, foldUp); this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT, foldDown);[code]....
the code below is placed on one frame of the main timeline...it works, but apparently continually triggers the "gotoAndPlay" action over and over again. How can an ENTER_FRAME event be made to play a moive clip such as "staged_kiss_mc" only once?
The playhead on the main timeline rests in this single frame for a while; it would be great if "staged_kiss_mc" were to only play once, when the playhead first enters this frame, rather than apparently repeating continually...is there code to stop this repetition?
I am trying to write a custom class for image loading.
public function imageLoader(url:String, mc:MovieClip):void { loader = new Loader(); loader.load(new URLRequest(url));
[Code]....
I ll get the events in these listeners in the loadImage class. But i want to trigger a function in the calling class or root or stage, when these loader events are fired.
I'm attempting to use a custom event and cant figure out what I'm doing wrong.The event just doesn't seem to be either triggering or received.I borrowed the code from the internet, but I only know enough about custom events to sort of figure out what the code is doing.I have a movieclip inside of another movieclip.I need to close the child movieclip when a button on the child mc is pressed.I'm attempting to listen for a custom "close button clicked" event on the parent mc.[code]again...the event just never happens.I never see the output of the trace in the parent movieclip.I do see the output of the trace "OK button pressed" from the child movieclip though.
I've a MovieClip named "Player" that contains three MovieClips (one on each frame): "Idle", "Walk", and "Attack". Idle and Walk are working as intendedwhen Player is on the appropriate frame, the animation cycles constantly; however, I am having trouble with my Attack animation.I want the Attack animation to only play through completely one time then throw an event so I can resume either the Idle or Walk animation. Is there an event that fires at the end of a MovieClip's timeline, or is there a better way to do this?
I have a file that loads in several flvs.At certain points during the flvs, I need to trigger events on other timelines.Right now, I have them set up as listeners using enterFrame to detect playheadTime.This works, but is too hard on the CPU that is running the file.Is there something similar to VideoEvent.COMPLETE that could trigger events at other specific points in the flv?
I am trying to make a link from a SWF open an html page and trigger an event to bring up another SWF within a Shadowbox javascript application. My code is as follows: truth is the instance of the button.
