I'm developing a Flex app (Flash Builder 4.5 AIR app). Flex can play other streams but it does not supports mms://url stream. can anyone suggest some sort of codec library in actionscript/flex. I want to design a stream radio app for desktop.

I'm able to stream pre-recrorded (vod) flvs in flex from flash media server.
I'm able to stream live video using Flash/FMS/Flas Live Media Encoder, but not with Flex.
This code streams pre-recorded Video on Demand flvs, but not live streams:
If I change source to "rtmp://localhost/live/livesream.flv, I get nothing.

When the application starts up - the mx:HTML is set to a certain size, but can be enlarged if the application is maximized. These are the following conditions to replicate it: Issue only happens in Windows (Windows 7, not on Mac) Issue only happens with Reader X installed (not with previous versions) Issue only happens when running the built app, does not happen in debug / development mode from FlashBuilder

I'm running ant to compile a Flex application, and the build keeps failing when running it on a windows command line. Other people in my team can successfully run the very same build under mac and linux. This is the error shown in the command prompt:

All tokens are set in corresponding build.properties and filter .properties files (and, as I said before, it compiles perfectly under mac and linux). The windows version is 7 Ultimate, FLEX_HOME is set as an environment variable to the Flex SDK 3.5 (the 3.5.0.12683 build that comes with Adobe Flash Builder Burrito). ${compiler.fork} is set to false, to avoid an issue with the SDK and the source files being in different logic drives.
I'm using Flex in Flash Player 10 on Windows, using FileReference to load a file into memory, as below.My issue is that when a file is locked by Windows, my FileReference is not giving me any feedback that the file is inaccessible--it simply never dispatches any events after my calling load().Does anyone have insight into how to tell that Flash Player is unable to open the file?

From an Adobe Air application, I need a function to launch the Windows Virtual Keyboard (c:windowssystem32osk.exe). I tried the Native Process, but it didn't work when telling it to execute cmd.exe /C osk.exe. How should I launch the keyboard application from an Adobe Air application?

View 1 RepliesI have a mp4 file which is to be used in an application. Currently i am in the stage of figuring out the technology to be used for this job. I am familiar with flex and am hoping that i be able to use it for the application. But i can not figure out a way to play the file in flex. I have been able to play the file only in windows media player and that required the installation of three codecs : Mp4Audio.ax, Mp4Video.ax, Mp4Src.ax.
As i see it, it will be very convenient if i could embed a windows media player plugin in flex or i could specify the audio and video codecs in the flash player
I have a flex application (.swf) and want to create a projector file. When I choose File-> create projector I get the .app file because I work on a Mac. I know I can create both projector formats for windows and mac using the export feature in Flash Professional. But this is not an option since it's Flex.Is there any other way rather than switching to windows to create the file?
View 1 RepliesI got a bunch of live stream from FMLE, say: "FMLE_channel1", "FMLE_channel2", "FMLE_channel3". And then on the server side, I created several corresponding republished stream called "channel1", "channel2", "channel3".
On periodical basis, we call Stream.get("channel1").play("FMLE_channel1", -1, 10, true) every 10 seconds. Similar things were done on the second channel & third channel.Soon after the above Stream.get("channel1").play() call, I should get the following events in sequence:info :NetStream.Unpublish.Successinfo :NetStream.Publish.Startinfo :NetStream.Play.Resetinfo :NetStream.Play.Start In the above case all are happy. Clients can view channel1, channel2, channel3 well.But then after a while, one of the three channels, in most case it would be channel1, will not be viewable.
With the server trace info, I found that after the Stream.get("channel1").play() call, only the following two events exists:
info :NetStream.Unpublish.Successinfo :NetStream.Publish.Starti.e. I was missing the play.reset and play.start event.I further checked and confirmed that the FMLE was publishing all three channels fine to the server. I was able to view the "FMLE_channel1" from flash clients, but not the republished "channel1". the version is FMS 3.5.0.

When we use NetConnection in combination with a NetGroup to initiate communication between two local AIR applications on Windows XP, they always both connect to the NetGroup succesfully and detect each other as neighbors. These applications can connect and send message to each other without a problem on Windows XP. On Windows 7 however, they cannot.Does anyone know why this wouldn't work on Windows 7 and what steps can be taken to make it work? It's critical to our project that this works.In some cases, the applications take quite a long time to detect each other as neighbors (up to 15 seconds in some cases), in other cases they detect each other immediately. Does anyone know what could cause this delay?
Beside Flash Media Encoder, can I use a live stream from Windows Media Services?We have live streaming with Windows Media Server, but now want also offer to mobile devices, but we dont re-encode the entire streams (tvs) again, it would be great if we can use a stream from windows to tunnel it to flash media server.
View 1 RepliesI work in the art department of a documentary series and I have a Dell Iinspiron 3200 running Windows 98 (with Flashplayer 9) that I need to use to run animations that I made on a seperate machine running CS5. How should I publish them so that they can be played on the laptop? When I bring the files over, they are recognized as flash applications (the icon is right) but trying to play them results in two errors: "(directory) file expects a newer version of windows. Upgrade your Windows version" and "(directory) a device attached to the system is not functioning" I have tried publishing as version 9, but the fies still won't run, and examining the properties of them reveals a file version of 10.1.

View 6 RepliesI'm working on a project that I want to export as a .avi file. I'm using Flash 8. I can go through the steps of exporting the movie fine, but once I try to play it in Windows Media Player, I get this error:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
I've tried playing it in VLC and DIVX player as well I got similar error messages. This is a time sensative project,

View 4 RepliesI'm interested in making a stereoscopic player similar to YouTube's 3D Player. The first strategy I tried is having two streams (one for each eye) attached to two video objects, but I noticed that this could lead to problems with them going off sync due to separate buffering issues. So now I'm thinking the way to do it is to encode the two eyes side-by-side into one video, and do some Flash trickery whereby I can take the left side and overlay it with the right side.
I suspect that this is how YouTube does this, because they ask you to upload 3D videos in a side-by-side format in the first place. I don't know how to do that Flash trickery, where I essentially take a video's left-half and overlay it with it's right-half. I tried attaching one stream to two video objects that were offset from each other, but only one of the streams played.
I have a home made RTSP server that streams video to QuickTime clients. Now, I need to support Flash Player clients, because QuickTime needs some configuration to work on Windows, and also there is no implementation of it in Linux distributions. Then I opted for Flash.
BUT: does Flash support RTSP??? If not, where can I find documentation for its streaming protocol so I can build one?

View 1 RepliesI have an IP camera streaming video through RTSP, and I am able to pick up the stream in VLC [URL]. What I need now is a way to show this stream in a Flash application I am developing (probably through the FLVPlayback component?). This means I need a way to "convert" or transcode the RSTP stream to a format supported by Flash, live.
I searched around but couldn't find any conclusive answers... Should I use VLC to transcode the video stream? Something with Adobe Media Server? Is ffmpeg an option here? I have no clue where to start or which option is most suited in this case.

View 1 RepliesI need to play a .FLV file (a commercial), then switch over to a live RTMP stream. Then, every 30 minutes STOP the live stream (or mute/hide it if thats more efficient/effective) and play the commercial again, then continue with the stream for another 30 minutes and repeat. For some reason I'm clueless on how to do this. I don't know if I'm supposed to use timers or setInterval. For now I'm using the FLVPlayBack component (I'm too lazy to code my own right now).
It would be really cool if the script could sense when the video is done playing rather than me having to set a specific time because they might not all be the same length. I dont want my viewers seeing 15 seconds of nothing if its a 15 second commercial and I set a timer for 30 seconds.

I started FMS and I'd want to play my stream in a HTML5 video tag.
I have not changed FMS4 parameter, and I'd want to insert the src attribute in video tag.
