Asp.net :: Webplayer Saves File Instead Of Playing It
Jun 7, 2011
In order to play videos (Flash Format) on the website I use JW Player on my pages. But I seem to have some problems with it. On certain Firefox browsers when clicking on the player it chooses to download the file instead of playing it in the browser. On the same computer I tried it on Internet Explorer and there my webplayer is showing badly, it stands in the top left corner (whereas it should be in the middle of the page) and flickers a bit.
Because everything is in development the webpage is only available through our servers. In other words, I can't provide you any link with details. So my question is, why do some browsers download the video instead of playing it? And is there a possible free alternative to JW Player to play flash videos?
I'm using the JPGEncoder and PHP to export a JPG of a movieclip instance out of my flash movie. Basically the end user hits a "save" button and they should get prompted to save to desktop.
Currently my code is prompting the end user to save my PHP file and not the JPG of the movieclip. Here's my AS3 code
ActionScript Code: import com.adobe.images.JPGEncoder; var serverPath:String = ""; function createJPG(m:MovieClip, q:Number, fileName:String)
The code below compiles fine on the Flex 4 SDK on Fedora 15. Mouse-click opens the dialog box, I click okay, and a file is saved, but the file is empty. I run the same SWF file (that was compiled on the Linux machine) on a Windows machine, and the created file contains the expected data. I was thinking there was a permissions problem, but if that were so, why should Linux even let me save the file? It is going to slow things down immensely if I cannot code something and test it on the same machine...
I installed the yahoo webplayer to play mp3's on the html page. Works fine on the net. Playing local files, it is continuously buffereing and doesn't play. In DW live view, the css box in the right hand corner flashes as the flash screen operates. The flash screen moves at half speed. It appears that the webplayer is somehow interfering with the flash and vice versa. <p><a href="samples/song1-1.mp3">song1-1</a></p></td><td align="center" width="52">
I have some animation (programmatic, I'm NOT using keyframed animation in timeline), and some music I want to play in the background. Once the music file reaches the end (about 30 seconds long), I want to trigger the end of the animation functions.I figure I could either use an actionscript timer to trigger the end of the animation or a keyframe with actionscript that is placed on the timeline near the end of the song but these methods assume knowledge about the duration of the wave file. If I changed the framerate or updated the external wave file, these triggers would possibly no longer sync upIs there some sort of event listener or other detection method for an audio file to signal it has finished playing? Or maybe there is a way to get the duration of the audio file to use in the timer
I'm using the jpgEncoder for a webcam snapshot app, my script was running right when my code was into my FLA on a layer, BUT I wanted to take it away in a document class, and now I'm having 2 issues :
a) when I shot a picture, the image doesnt stay frozen even with the line [attachCamera(null)]
I have been searching for a way to create a button that when pressed, opens the "save as" dialogue box and saves a screenshot of the stage of an .swf.
I am using this for a game in which movie clips can be moved around the stage. When the button is pressed, it would take a screenshot of the stage with the movie clips in the position they were moved to and then save this screenshot.
The screenshot would just be a picture (such as .PNG, .jpeg, etc.), not the actual .swf file.
Is this button possible to create with just Actionscript in Flash?
I'm making oldschool-styled flash game and as it's so oldschool, I want it also to have password saves. Unfortunately I can't use usual solution - array of passwords and corresponding levels, one of which is to give hard time for guys on Arcadeprehacks and the other is that I want to make possible to save in-game and load with all score and lives.I need some solution to encode number values to string, which values are:
-Lives - up to 2 digits -Score - 10 digits -Level number - 3 digits
It can also take 2 additional values which can be numbers or text, anything else will be converted to string. It can't be converted to ANY string - only numbers and capital letters can be in it.
I have a MovieClip inside a stage that is mostly(not accurately) centered to the middle of the stage.
When I try to save the MovieClip into a bitmap in order to upload it to facebook, I either get a cropped image or a white image(blank). Here is the code for generating the bitmap:
var source:BitmapData = new BitmapData(board.width, board.height); source.draw(board); var bitmap:Bitmap = new Bitmap(source);
The result I am getting is the yellow area in the following image:
I have a cs3 project that works fine that saves an image out and sends back to a html page.We updated the project to cs5 and now it does not redirect back to the right URL. Only differences are in the below script. I been lookingat this for days without getting any where so would like some fresh eyes to have a look to see if there is glaring issues with the code.
The code below compiles fine on the Flex 4 SDK on Fedora 15.Mouse-click opens the dialog box, I click okay, and a file is saved, but the file is empty.I run the same SWF file (that was compiled on the Linux machine) on a Windows machine, and the created file contains the expected data. Then I broke the FileReference declaration out of the function into the class level, hoping to avoid a known bug, but the same problem persists.Hoping to set up a workaround, I added the debug Flash player to my path and ran the file from Flash without the benefit of the browser, and it works. So now a Flex problem has become a Firefox problem, maybe owing to a shady procedure I used to install the plugin without really understanding what was happening.I am running Firefox 5.0.In essence my workflow is fixed, but perhaps people who performed the above will not be able to use projects with FileReference.save()?
I have this function within my flash program that allows a person to make notes, at the moment they notes are just saved from a dynamic textfield to variable and hover around in flash output space, now I really need to get it so that when they click 'save' it exports the text from flash and saves it onto the users computer. I really don't want to use fscommand... and I know it can be done with PHP but trying to find a suitable tutorial is harder than I thought... so I would wondering if anyone could recommend a good tutorial or has done it before and can give some tips?
Here's a link to a particle explosion generator with many options to play with and it saves a transparent png sprite sheet: The same particle engine is used in my latest game:Tank Rush. But since my next game will use only sprite sheets for effects, I created this generator out of the tank rush engine.
I am writing a JSFL script that resizes flas and saves various versions, with appened names. I can get a "Save As" prompt to pop up using fl.saveDocumentAs();But I can't seem to get flash to generate a new name for the FLA.I just want to save "document.fla" as "document_foo.fla" ,(and later "document_qux.fla"), preferably without interrupting the script with a "save as" prompt.
Created an mp3 player that works fine, but i need the track name, artist name, track timer, to be shown aswell?and i dont have a clue how do go about doing this.
I have a problem that I have not found a syntax error or logic error to explain. It appears to be an obscure problem related to playing a sound file and graphic positioning in the same file. My next step is to look for any known bugs. I have posted the file at. URL] When the page loads you will see a list of selections. Do not click any of the html Play buttons In the graphic arrow pointing to the right is the play button click it and a default file will start. Click the pause button (which will be green while the selection plays) Then click the play button again. The knob that moves while the song plays, will begin moving from the position it was at the time pause was clicked.
Click the stop button (arrow facing left with vertical line at tip) Choose a selection from the html list by clicking the Play button next to it. Then click the play button in the player display. The title of selection will appear in the title area. repeat the original steps (play, pause, play) This time the knob that moves while song plays, snaps back to the start and moves from start, rather than from the pausedposition.
i'm trying to play flv file using programming but problem it's only work with only html file.when i play with stand alone SWF File it's not playing flv file? what should i do to run as a stand alone application do i've to desing into Adobe AIR ?
i have a button that when it is pressed plays and loads an external flv file. this part works fine but directly after the flv video is finnished i want to load in an swf file. does some one have an idea how to do this? first show flv and then load swf? this is the code as it looks now..
I have created fla file in cs4 which is 1 minute long.
However when I try to export it as an avi only the last fifteen seconds of the video actually play. The avi is still 1 minute long but the first 45 seconds is just a white screen.
I'm only converting it to an avi so that i can subsequently convert it to an flv and put it into a player on my site.
Does an FLV need an accompanying javaScript file in order to play within an HTML page? How do you generate this or get a hold of this javaScript file if that is the case? I'm told you do not actually publish the file in order to get it to play / work.
So far, I have the FLV, the HTML page (where it's been inserted), the "skin" SWF and the movie in SWF also.
I am fairly new to Flash and working with MX 2004 with Flash 2. I have tried several methods to play an external .FLV file. Some ideas from this forum and some from the Flash help system. Either I don't understand them and/or I am not implementing them correctly but nothing has worked. I have read of an FLVPlayback component and my system has a MediaPlayback component in the Component window. I have also seen yards of actionscript to play such files. Can anyone supply me with a basic/simple method, with code/example or buttons-to-push if necessary, to have an .SWF play an external .FLV via my MX 2004 system?
I am using Dreamweaver CS$ version 10 and have embedded a flash video on a web page but it is not playing/showingwhen I put it on a test page it works, but not when I place it in my production page.
I am trying to create a flash file out of a .flv movie to behave similar to what you can see in ca.gov. The nice thing about the flash in ca.gov is that before the whole movie loads the flash starts playing it. You can easily see this if you have httpfox or httpwatch installed on your browser that loads only the flash). The file loads first and loads while playing it.
I'd like to create a similar .swf from my .flv file. I use Adobe Flash to publish the .flv file into .swf but what I see in my page is that it loads the whole movie (.flv) file before playing it.
What I am wondering is how I can create my .swf so it starts playing the .flv file while it is loading it. I understand that the movie file I'm using is of type .flv and the one on ca.gov is of type .f4v; but as far as I understand this shouldn't be why it's not working the way I want.
Also, it would be ideal for me to detect the bandwidth of the user and let the flash loads different versions of the .flv file based on the user's bandwidth.
I have a flash file developed by an ex-colleague, to load and play a flash file, however after moving the website to OVH server, the mp3 stopped playing
...
stop();var pausePoint:Number = 0.00;var isPlaying:Boolean; var soundChannel:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel();var sound:Sound = new Sound(new URLRequest("Sounds/Music_File_2.mp3"));
...
I am trying to play the .mp3 file called "Music_File_2.mp3" the music file is in a folder called "Sounds" 2buttons called Play_btn and Stop_btn plays and stops the music. Once the music playing if i click on the play button the music will pause.
Everything works fine when i launch the program though "Flash Player 10". but when i right click and open the .swf file with Internet explorer the whol project works fine, but the sounds would not play.
I need to play a FLV file on a web page, but I don't want it playing in a visible player. That is I don't want there to be the usual Play button and no frame. I want it to work and look much like this link: . It is similar to those infamous "Mac vs PC" videos which occasionally play on the home page of . My flash ability in this area is limited. (I'm a Joomla pro but not a flash pro.) Looking at the source code, I see various swf controller file links, and some javascript, I think.
I have no idea what is in the swf files that may or may not be making it all work. First of all I don't even know if it is possible for a FLV file to play above html and then disappear revealing the html when it is finished playing. I assume with the swf and javascript and divs this is possible, but am not sure.Ideally I would love the complete code if possible. Or links to where I can find out how to do it.
I have embedded an automatic slideshow as a swf file into a website I'm designing for my parents. When I test the swf file, it performs exactly as expected but when I embed it into the html, it just sits there and doesn't run/animate/whatever.
The slideshow (should) automatically run through a group of 7 photos, with a fade transition and was all done with actionscript, loading the external jpeg files into alternate movieclip containers etc etc.
The web page where it doesn't work is here: - you can see that the swf just sits there, doing absolutely nothing.
The location of the swf file is: - as you can see, it works fine on its own!!
If I published several separate SWF files from several FLA files (because they were too large to work in one FLA document) is there a way to play them automatically one after the other? I looked online and somebody suggested www.swfmergeI tried placing on the last frame of each FLA file the actionloadMovie but I don't know how to define it so that once one SWF file is done, the next one starts.I just open the SWF with explorer on windows so that I can view them full screen (they are for a slide presentation, architecture and I am showing a little bit of animation)
How adobe plays the AS2 SWF file so beautifully, including being able to go to next frame or prev frame or zoom functions? I have tried many different ways to play an AS2 SWF in my flex (AS3) SWF loader and it is a very difficult problem. I use a AS2 Shell as a proxy and I use local connection to communicate between the two AVMs. The result is quite a horrible one because, I am not able to scale the swf very well and also have a torrid time with the debugger. Any special methods used by Adobe to achieve that in CS4 Flash or do they also use LocalConnection to play the AS2?
I just upload a new flash site to the air and i have one problem. My site have 9 different gallerys, so i made a main swf file and 9 more. the main file is "calling" to the others.my problem is that it takes forever to play the gallerys.
