Bitmap :: Hold Monster Images Than In The Timeline *flash*?

Let's say I have some monsters in my game and they need to be generated randomly. They need to have some graphics and I am not sure what's the best way to do so. I have read a book where the writer used the time line to hold different images for cards for instance. The card class would then set it's content from the time line. In my opinion this really sounds like hard coding. Aren't there any better solutions to this like holding the images in an array or so.

I need to dynamically create 7 movieclips (or sprites, doesn't matter to me) to hold 7 loaded images.

Here's the snippet of what I have:

As you can see, the images are being loaded in from the source designated in the xml, and then I try to store each of them in a newly created movieclip. I want to have: image0, image1, image2... each with the loaded image, but I can only ever get the last image to show up.

I've got a symbol on stage and a button. The button rotates the symbol CCW half a degree. Code: on(release){ mySymbol._rotation -= 0.5;} I wanna add an on (press and hold) action on button so that the symbol will be rotated continuously when the button is on hold.. I can't make this work for over a week now.

I have to produce a Flash banner advert for my company. The specs are Flash 8, up to 30kb.My company wants highest possible resolutions and smooth animations, but no matter what i do, either I have to lower the resolutions of my images or have to make the advert more static, none of which my company is happy about!I save images to the right size so i don't scale them in FlashI open each of the bitmaps and change their quality individuallyI clicked the compress movie buttonI optimised all the shapes that are in the filmI made sure all the objects used more than once or animated are movieclipsI used SWF optimiser but it didn't make any difference.

Flash :: Converting A Flex Component W/images To Bitmap?

I am trying to take images I am placing in a flex canvas component to a bitmap. I was able to get to the point where I'm not getting an error but then no image shows up and the image I save out as a jpg is blank. I imagine I'm not setting the bitmap data correctly but can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

i just made a 2d shooting game lately. I got a question, how do you make a collision between the bullet and the monters? Here's my code:

As flash professional does not have support of flash player 11 while testing project with ctrl+Enter, I can only test flash projects in browser so I cann't use trace to check things working, and I can't event integrate monster debugger in starling object, it does not trace anything. Does someone have solution for this, I mean how can I test flash project in browser?

Jesus Christ - I thought I was really good in flash.Got this template and I can't see S***.
WTH - is it supposed to be this difficult to manipulate a template or am I stupid???
Go into project explorer and can't see much AS so how the hwll are they getting the images and text into the flash swf. By the html??? I don't think so.

Flex :: How To Resize Images (Bitmap) Using AS3

I am loading an image using a Loader. Once loaded, I can get the bitmap data using Bitmap(event.target.loader.content).bitmapData.
However since the images I am loading are quite large (around 2000 x 1600), I would like to reduce the size and create a new smaller bitmap maybe 200 or 300 pixels wide, sort of like a thumbnail. I think it has to do with creating a new BitmapData with the new size. However I am not able to get that working properly.

I am having trouble storing bitmap images into an array. The following code snippet creates an array called "imageArr" and its intention is to store all the bitmap images in it. The images are captured from the user's webcam and should then be stored in the array. However, when I display the images it can only display the last image taken.

I have created a class called LoadXML that loads an XML file and parses the data returning various arrays consisting of url paths: background urls (called "hintergrund"), image urls ("pfad") etc. In the main class I am trying to load each of these background urls and insert them each in a seperate cover (for a CoverFlow carousel). The images will then be loaded in the same cover and should appear on top of the background.I havent been able to insert multiple images in one bitmap. This is what my image loading methods look like:(I also added my LoadXML class and xml file in the attachments).

I am trying to load images dynamically to my stage. I am reading an xml file and trying to add the images0 to the scene. For some reason the image file seems to be loaded (I have put a trace "Success to check it") but when I try to addChild nothing happens. This is the code of my class followed by the code of my flash file: The main idea here is to load as many thumbnails as the xml file contains so I can play with them making a horizontal scroll.

Bascially what I'm trying to do is load 2 or more external images, all the same size and resolution, then combine or composite them one on top of the other, then save that result as a new image using a jpeg or png encoder.

I don't want to take a snapshot of the stage, I'd like to save the images with thier original resolution. So far the only thing I've been able to do is load two images, and composite them on the stage. thats about it.

I'm using flash pro CS5.5, and writing code in a class file, not on the timeline. Here is a copy of the code.

Professional :: Text Fields Don't Show Up In Preview Hard To Edit Webpage Template (monster)?

While I'm just a beginner right now it/I'm an experienced computer user and I have really enjoyed/but when I'm looking at it now I'm trying to use flash to edit a website template, for example monster templates. I bought a template from the site and nine trying to edit it now and well it just seems like it's a very very long process to do something kind of where I just want to look at the page and I want to edit the text and only I go to bed doesn't seem to be the case. So I'll show you what I mean.
 
When I'm using the program and I'm in Adobe flash I'm looking now at the screen inside the program and there's no text I see the graphics images and there's no text and also is that some type of way where it's easy to navigate link to link where I can just edit the text what supposed to be in there rather than search for the funeral push page up and down until I come across just a white background with tax and then have to edited which is pretty confusing because I don't know where that's located but I the general idea that if you change it but surely there must be an easier way.
 
So basically I'm including a screenshot that shows you exactly what I'm talking about. Basically once again I'm in fashion items Sandy text so it's kinda hard to see what was going on or whatever so you can see the snow text located in the thing but however when I publish the file yeah you can see the text and everything I'm kinda looking for some type of you well be able to see this and just edited really. I know there are other programs out there like SWF edited her or quick note to some like that. But I really wanted to use flash, unexperienced Photoshop user and I really love all Adobe products and I really think that this is the master program to use however I'm really don't want it as of right now it's been about 40 days and nine still a bit lost navigating through the program will I'm just really just China entities tax bills and just go through the site. Now I realize I should have the respect for beautiful program like this and it's not been a be set up to the way that I'm hoping it Siskind be a point-and-click editor I understand that. I'm just wondering if anybody has any type suggestions or perhaps of I'm missing something which is fantastic.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Loader Will Load Images From Another Server - Get Error On Bitmap Operation?

I'm developing an app that currently is using Loader to get images from another server.This shouldn't currently work since we are still waiting for the owner of that server to put a crossdomain file in place.However, it does work -- sort of .

Loader can load the images fine, without an error.But then the app has a feature in which we are making a larger duplicate of the image to display in a sidebar, we do this in this manner:

var myBitmap:Bitmap = Bitmap(loader.content);

and when this runs we get a Flash player security error 2122, sandbox violation.So while I'm hoping all this will fix itself when the crossdomain.xml file is put in place,I'm confused as to why we only get the sandbox error when we make a Bitmap from the image, and not when we initially try to retrieve the image.

(Incidentally: is there a better way to make a "copy" of an image loaded by a Loader, and then change its width and height for simultaneous display in another part of the stage? I don't need to change its actual dimensions -- I just need to change its display width and height.)

I load data from xml and want a list of thumbnails with text to be lined up. A handful of text-attributes to the xml-rows, including a src-attribute, which links to an image, goes through as wanted - text is shown, and images are shown. The image order, however, varies when I have more than two rows and is completely wrong. The text-attribute-order to each thumbnail remains perfect in all scenarios.The images bitmapData is taken etc., and the images are scaled to a proper thumbnail size. This might be where something goes wrong?

this is supposed to return an XMLList of Groups anywhere in the xml. This works fine if I have more than one , but fails if there is only one .Am I wrong in my assumption that it should return one? I trace xml..Group.length() and it is 0, but the Group is definately in the xml.Any ideas on how you can get one or more Group nodes from my xml?

I've created an image with a dozen irregular buttons. It all works perfectly. Now I want to edit my flash cs5 file in a way so that, when clicked upon one button, the last of the 4 states (the hitbox state) will remain visible until one clicks another button. Now its looping back to the fist state. Im sure there must be an easy way to do this, something with a stop code maybe?
