I can get the videos to play using the flvplauer component, but im having a little trouble figuring out if and how to dynamically change the path of the flvplayer while running through a timeline. If I can do something like mc.changeFLVPath that would be awesome!
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to get the time from the server (php) and then display a different flash movie (via either a different swf or frame on timeline) accordingly.
Unfortunately I haven't found anything that relates to this using as3.
im trying to embed an swf file in facebook. To cut the story short, the swf im trying to embed is loaded fine but stops at preloader stage (0% of 1) and is not progessing as if it has missing link and couldnt locate something (the files struscture is one main swf file; index.swf loads other 5 swf),But, when i tried to load it up directly from browser, it works fine. I have been advised that changing the link path to absolute between the index.swf and 1.swf, 2.swf etc would solve the problem.
My questions will be:
-how do i change this path, because i couldnt seem to find any link that reflects the connection between those files?
-Is there any feature in flash that would be able to show this link rather than diggin up every symbol?
-If changing the path wouldnt solve the problem, what could be the reason this error is happening?.
Is it possible to have an image cross the screen slowly on a random path for say 10 seconds, then have another image replace it and go across on another random path? i will have maybe 15 images in toal that I want to do this with!
View 1 RepliesI have a Flash-file, which I downloaded at a page. Now I am changing some things and this error is occuring: SecurityError #2000. The Flash-file loads an XML-file and in this XML-file, there are some paths to some picture files. All paths are valid and the pictures exists. When I changed the picture (and path), I get this SecurityError. My next idea was to replace the picture, but the path should be the original. When I did this, I got the old picture, not the new. View 3 RepliesI have a file that has a thumbnail scroller(which is run with a xml file) and a slideshow that when loads has a bunch of images on the scroller and when clicked, opens bigger in the slide show.
what I want to be able to do, is when other buttons outside the scroller are clicked, it loads a new xml file, but I am not sure how to go about doing that.
I have attached my fla file and .as file so you can see what I am working with.
If I want to change a set of movieclips that all have the same name except they end in a different number i.e
movieclip1
movieclip2
movieclip3
whats the correct actionscript to refer to a movieclips path in terms of the name plus a numerical variable i.e
movieclip + var
so I can cycle through each one by altering the variable.
something like

View 9 RepliesActually I am the application is for recoeding live stream. The recorded videos are placing in the folder named live_test as specififed above.But I want to change this path. There is a folder named public in the root directory. In the "public" folder we have a folder named Recorded_Videos, I need to place the recorded videos on this folder. How can I do this.Another issue that occurs while recording is NetStream.Record.noAccess. This is occuring while the recorded video is placing on client's flash media server with the path that i specified above. But when i running it in the local flash media server(developer version), its working well. The recorded files are placed on live_test folder. In the client's server the stream is not recording, instead its showing an error like "NetStream.Record.noAccess". The code that I am using for recording live stream is follows:

I am using flvplayer.swf player, it is playing the videos,but before playing the video the player has black screen and a play button. When I click the play button the video plays. Is it possible to show a screen-shot of the video with the play button on top, instead of the blank screen?
View 1 RepliesI am looking to create the appearance of a shape being drawn. I need a few shapes, but for the example think of a simple U. I have tried several different approaches. First, I tried a shape tween at 45 degree increments. That was a wrong approach. Then I tried using After Effects, but the movies lacked flexibility and were laggy. Currently I am building the shapes using two shape tween MCs(an arc that goes 11.25 degrees and a line that goes 21px), and repeating it.
This seems to be working, but is very tedious, and lacks flexibility. i.e. if I decided I want the shape just a bit shorter I have to remove the MC incident from every frame. Also I have no possiblity of changing the speed without completely rebuilding the shape becasue I'm doing a frame by frame animation.
I am trying to add videos to my project, but none of them seems to work correctly. I have a movieclip, which has 3 layers and 2 frames on each layer, 1 frame at nr.1, and frame 2, at nr. 5 in the timeline. I tried to add a FLVPlayer, using a tutorial, but it doesn't works correctly. 1st frame has a stop(); a blank, and 4 buttons + FLVPlayer component. the last frame nr.5, has the AS3 code, the frame label "videocontent", and the same 4 buttons and FLVPlayer component as in the first frame. I've created a classic tween between 1st and 5th frame on the timeline for the buttons and component. even with or without animation, the video is throwed by the Flash on the stage without any coordinates, where he wants by default. The FLVPlayer's buttons are throwed in other place on the stage, and none of them seems to work.
the second issue is that after i click the main menu button, the sound of the video is still playing and to be heard, so that means it is still there. In AS 2, once upon a time, i used some function called removeclip, or unLoadMovie, and it worked.
I have spent many frustrating hours trying to figure out why this is happening. It is totally broken. I need to use a motion path using 3d in a symbol. Because of the way the project is put together (for Flex) there are several FLAs that need to be converted to symbols.
So when I convert the FLA that contains a motion path with 3D, the object moves away from the path in the symbol (the 1st frame remains in place, but everything else is off the path), even though it remains correct in the main timeline.
And once I start editing the object in the symbol, the object returns to the path ok, as if it had been some strange display issue, but the 3D is all wrong - the vanishing point relative to the object has changed. The same thing happens whether I create the 3D path using "global" or "local" tool settings.
the same class is passed to the mxmlc compiler in SWF library as a symbol linkage class and again in a source-path. But the compiler uses the definition from the source-path so creating new instance of that class won't create new instance of the library symbol. How do I tell the compiler to prefer the definition linked to the symbol (the one dfrom SWC)?
I have my design assets in an FLA file and they are linked to classes (e.g. [URL]. Then I export those assets to a SWC library and pass it to the compiler. Now when I create an instance of the class (new MyAsset();) it will be a new instance of the library object.
But there are other classes too in the source folder (e.g. "com.myproject.model.*" so I need to pass the source folder to the compiler too. And that is the problem, now the compiler will use the MyAsset.as definition from the source path, not from the SWC where it is assigned to the library object so if I create new instance of MyAsset now it won't duplicate the library object.
Is it possible to draw out a path in the flash editor, set its visibility to hidden, and use this path data to animate objects in AS3?
View 1 RepliesI have an animation that loops and has different images come up with certain elements on the screen that remain the same throughout the movie. Depending on the image that is being displayed, the url of the link assigned to one of the constant elements changes with the code that I posted below.
The problem occurs when the movie loops because the URL of the constant is supposed to go back to the first link (just like everything else loops and starts at the beginning) but it remains as the last url that was declared.
Here are the three blocks of code I am using for the links, truth is the instance name of the button. These code snippets are arranged in their own "actions" layer on my timeline

So I've created a script where a mc is clicked on and the player can draw a path using the mouse. I'm trying to figure out how I can get the mc to follow the path drawn out by the player's mouse and when the player clicks again, it erases all of the path.my code is below

When I close the file (making sure to save) and reopen it. All the frame #'s attributed to the hand symbol revert back to frame 1.Meaning I have to redo every hand pose again and again and again. More importantly when the animation is approved and I send it off, when the client opens it the animation is incomplete.
View 2 RepliesI have been shown how to do a very specific task in Flash Pro CS5. I have five slides in my timeline, with buttons that include links to product pages on our website. These five slides comprise a movie, with each slide being displayed for a few seconds and it repeatedly cycles through the five slides in a banner at the top of our home page. In addition there is a navigation bar below my slide images with a play and pause option, plus the five slide numbers so the viewer can navigate from slide to slide manually. I have been asked to change the order of the slides so that slide #5 now becomes slide #1 and slide #1 becomes slide #2, and so on.
I can easily switch the images and links so that the slides are in a different order in my file, but now the navigation bar below does not work. In the Actions panel, the #1 button in the navigation bar still appears to be linked to slide 1, which now has the new images, yet the nav bar does not respond to clicks anymore. How was my nav bar disabled when I switched the images and links around between the slides? and how can I correct this? I know nothing else about Flash except how to replace the images and change the button links in each slide, which I do monthly, as this is the top banner on our website.
The template has a timeline at the bottom of the page. The dates are dynamic based on the data in the boxes above it. If you have 3 boxes, one dated 2011, one 2010, one 2009 it will fill the timeline from 2009 to 2011. I want to change the timeline from numbers to text. I've been making the transition from AS2 to AS3 for the last week and am making progress. But I'm having a problem that hopefully someone can help me with. I'm using Flash CS5. I have a fairly simple Flash website I'm working on. I have sections on the timeline like Home, About, Photos, Media ... all set up using labels for each of those sections. Everything is working fine but when I go to my Media section where I have a video placed (using the flv component) I'm having a problem as follows:
The video auto plays fine when I go to the Media section but when I attempt to leave the section and go to another the sound of the video doesn't stop. It continues to play when I go to another section and if I go back to the section it starts again. The video is not there when I go to another section which is the part that's confusing me. In AS2 when I did this the video and the sound both stopped because you went to another section on the timeline. Why is the sound of the video not stopping in AS3?
TWO PROBLEMS: THE FIRST ONE: I have one Button instaced botao01 Inside this button i have a animation, with to words alternating in a mask, each one word is a MC with instace names:
txt01_bt01 and txt02_bt01 This two MC have ONLY the text "home" inside, with one frame... its only a MC of a static text All flash have some objects, and this objects change the colors with some variables.... and this works fine. I want to change the colors of this static texts too. BUT when i put the command to change the color of the movie clip txt01_bt01, he really change the color BUT he lost the animation, the movement, he dont have more the movement!

I am creating a very basic menu. My project consists of a main file that then calls other swf's to fill in the rest of the content. My main timeline is this. There is an preloader which hasn't been built yet, a intro section that is two movie clips (one loads the layout, one fades in my buttons). Then when all this loads, I load the first swf. My difficulty is that I am trying to get my buttons, which are held in mc_buttons, to change the variable myLoader on the main timeline. So when you click on a button, it swaps in a different swf for the current loaded one. I have tried calling the following code attached below.
My error is:
"1119: Access of possibly undefined property myLoader through a reference with static type flash.display:DisplayObjectContainer."
Now, if I define the myLoader variable in the mc_buttons and do an addchild() there, I get the correct content, it just is on top of the old content which isn't what I want...
Is there some codes, to stop sound in movie clip, when changing keyframe on main (parent) timeline ?

I have to play that .mov file in that format only without any conversion to .flv.
I have a videos of 16:9 and 4:3 ratio.When I play them in flvplayer having dynamically loaded skin, in 4:3 ratio video the video and skin both get squeezed.I put scale mode to 'mainaspectratio'as desired.But I want skin not to squeeze.As the controls are disorted. How to achieve this?
