Flash :: Playing Flv In Website?

my client wants to play a flash video in their website.just to make sure i understand correctly, i need to:1. create an FLV file2. use either some flv player or wrap the flv inside swfquestions:1. the player option - will visitor have to download /install it or is it install only once, in the website itself? any FREE player you can recommend the will ensure cross browser compatibility?swf option: will i need the flash application in order to do the wrapping?will i be able to later use something like flashobject library for the actual embedding?what are the main considerations for choosing between the two options , if indeed these are the options?

I am currently trying to write a website for myself from a flash template and need seperate buttons to Play and Stop seperate tracks of mp3s. I have managed to get it to play one track however when I try to add a new track, the new button just plays the same track as the first one.

I have always used getURL("whatever.mp3", "_blank") to allow a user to play an external mp3 on his/her own systems player (i.e. Real Player, Quicktime,etc.) and never had a problem. A new window opens up with (in my case) a Quicktime player/progress bar and I can hear the music play almost immediately. Aside from scripting a custom mp3 player, is this an acceptable way of playing mp3s on a website?
Here's why I ask: A site I just built for someone doesnt quite work that way. My client says that Real Player is his default player for mp3s and the popup window reads "Error page not found". anyone point me to a tutorial that explains mp3 file-type associations and hopefully provides a solution to my clients errant popup?

I'm trying to make buttons for my website that have sounds playing on them during the over states. But when you move the mouse off the button, the sound keeps playing. Run that mouse everywhere, the sounds are all playing, it's chaos. How do I fix a button so that the sound stops playing when the mouse moves off?

am i publishing the movie incorrectly? It works great when I preview the flash file (cntrl+enter), but after I publish it and insert it into the html (in dreamweaver), the file shows up and animates perfectly, but when clicked, no link... It doesn't do anything

I am using AS2 in CS5.5.I am creating a project for a class that introduced me to adobe flash. The issue is I have gotten to a certain point about 15 scenes. During say the 15th scene scrolling through the timeline animations works fine, playing it on test scene works fine. When I go to play it on test movie it stops at a certain point. At first I thought it might have been a misplaced stop action but there is none to be found. The weird part is every other scene I create after that continues to freeze as well, the images are there, but the animations won't play. All my previous animations play before those with the issue, it's justThese new ones won't play for some reason in test movie, but work completely fine in test scene and the timeline.

I have some animation (programmatic, I'm NOT using keyframed animation in timeline), and some music I want to play in the background. Once the music file reaches the end (about 30 seconds long), I want to trigger the end of the animation functions.I figure I could either use an actionscript timer to trigger the end of the animation or a keyframe with actionscript that is placed on the timeline near the end of the song but these methods assume knowledge about the duration of the wave file. If I changed the framerate or updated the external wave file, these triggers would possibly no longer sync upIs there some sort of event listener or other detection method for an audio file to signal it has finished playing? Or maybe there is a way to get the duration of the audio file to use in the timer

I am creating a game that has 6 movieclips all on the main time line of the game. Each movie clip has three buttons that when clicked plays, pauses or stops a sound clip.When I press any of the sound clip play buttons that sound starts playing, the problem is when I click any of the other sound clip play buttons those sounds also start to play. Is there a way I can disable the other sound clip buttons while the current sound is playing then enable all of the buttons when the current sound has stopped.

So I made a few buttons with sounds within them and when I publish it they work just fine. But what I want them to do is;
Say I click a Button.The sound starts playing.Then I click it again, before the sounds done playing.I want it to stop the playing sound and start playing the button I just clicked on, whether it be the same button, or a different one.Right now it just ends up sounds like an echo because it'll play it as many times as you click it.

The problem I have is I click the play button and start playing. Then I click next and when I click play for another song the songs overlap. How can I stop whatever song is playing and start playing the new one? Has to stop the prev song when I click play_brn.

ok so i have a button that plays an animation for fire when held down. and when realsed goes to and stops and frame one. when it reaches the end of the time line it goes to and plays at frame 10 and goes back to the end of the timeline. I have a sound for the fire animation that plays for the effect. The problem is the sound keeps going untill its over even if the button isnt held down. and when the playhead reaches the end of the timeline it goes to and plays and frame 10 and it replays the sound. if i hold it down it will just keep playing the sound over and over from start to finish. what i want it to do it when i hold the button down i want it to play the sound and when released it stops the sound where ever it is at. I also dont the sound to play again if there is a sound already going to stop it from playing 20 sounds at one time it gets loud and you need asprin after about 5 seconds of that.

I am learning how using flash is like using legos. if you have two eight hole pieces, and you put them together using only two holes, the lego structure will not be as strong or work so well. seems like you have to cover the entire basis (put all eight holes into the eight pegs) for the program to work, and I am reading the help section for this, although if anyone knows of some good books that hold valuable knowledge and wisdom, I would certainly like to know about them, as I am dedicated to learning flash.
I have 1.swf, that in order to get it to operate as I have programed it, I must play it in the flash player. Playing it in Flash Professional does not work in its entirety because of conflicts in the enter key's duties. The 1.swf works as it should when played in the flash player outside of Flash Professional MX 2004.When I am loading 1.swf into presentation style 2.swf, and then play 2.swf in the Flash Player, the key board functionality of 1.swf (most specifically the enter key) does not operate as the 1.swf Actionscript 2.0 defines. I have created a projection file as well, to see if there was any other behavior that might occur, but the result were the same. I am new to flash and trying to make a simple flash website video intro in Flash CS5 Pro.I have a flv viedo on the stage, under an image with a trasnparent center.I have the video on the bottom layer, the overlay image on the middle layer, and the top layer is my AS layer (AS3).
The video is currently autoplaying when i export.All i want is for it to open my website in the same window as the intro played when the video ends.I dont need a "skip intro button" or anything.I just want it to play the intro when you go to my site, and then bring up the index page of my site after it plays.

I wanted to create a simple flash contact form for my flash website. I went through Lee's tutorial on how to create the contact form and PHP file to go with it. I've uploaded everything to my server and tested the form. My flash form consists of Name, Subject, Message, and Email fields. When I receive the email all that comes through is this with none of the actual message that was written IN the contact form:
Name: Subject: Message: Email: The 'From' field is also blank. I don't know if my problem is with flash, my PHP code, or with my server. Can someone take a look at this and tell me what's wrong? I can't seem to find any errors from Lee's tutorial with my code or labeling.

I'm setting up a website and im using flash as a menu, but my problem is when I click on a button to go to a new page it redownloads the flash files, not just the menu but also my flash banner.
This only happens the very 1st time i click on the menu but its still very annoying having to wait for it to redownload again when it should already be there saved.
The problem does not happen if I use the html links on the page just the geturl links from flash.

So I have a Flash CS3 based website and I am trying to add in a Flash Gallery.I designed the Flash Gallery as a seperate file and tried to copy the library items into my site file. I got it in, looked ok but when I ran the test it goes crazy and I get 7 actionsript

I m trying to upload my website from Flash CS5.5 and I m getting following "error" on the web site : "Für diese Seite ist Flash Player Version 10.2.0 oder höher erforderlich " (For this Site only Flash Player Version 10.2.0 or higher is needed). This is because I use movie clips within other movie clips.
I wondered if anyone knew a workaround or trick that I could use to get text into google. I have a couple ideas but they're just ideas.
I would like to create an alternate page that is not flash, but a regular html page with all of the text I want google to read inside it. Somehow I use code to tell it that when a user clicks on the link, to redirect them to the flash webpage, but when a search engine sees it, to send the search engine/google to that regular html page, where it will gather all of the text and then that text will show up on google's page when you do a search and my site on google? Even if this was possible, would google frown upon this and ban me or something?
The other idea I have is to use invisible text at the bottom of my page. This will be regular html text that is the same color as my background. But I heard this can get you banned from search engines like google if you are using lots of keywords, but I wouldn't be using keywords. I'd be using the few sentences of content that their stupid crappy technology doesn't read, forcing me to bust my hump trying to find a workaround for. It sucks that google doesn't even use keywords in my metadata for rankings either. So I can't even use that with them.
