Why can't I use persistNavigatorState="true" and stage.setAspectRatio(StageAspectRatio.PORTRAIT) together in initializing program.

but only can get tabBarvisible="true" and when i click again nothing happen. the tabBarvisible won't turn to "false".
This seems pretty weird even for Adobe standards. I've set up size of the movie to be 1024x768, which is the resolution of ipad screen in landscape. The stage looks ok but when I publish the swf it goes into portrait mode.
I even used this line of code but it doesn't help.

In Flex 4.5 for mobile how can I use portrait / landscape states from a skin file?
e.g. In the skin file I want to create the following states

and use them in the normal way. However the current state in the skin file is not updated when I switch between landscape and portrait.
I would like to move (right or left according the current view) between 2 views when I move my finger on the mobile screen; for example with Google+ mobile application, in profil section, you can change the view just on move your finger on the screen, and the offset and the moving speed must be checked before change complete view.

View 2 RepliesI'm coding a image viewer application for tablets using Adobe Flex 4.5. Basically, I have a list with a custom item renderer that renders the images in the list. I have set up the image size to be the width/height of the tablet device in portrait (600x1024). This way, only one image can be seen at one time. The problem is that when the device orients to landscape, this design obviously screws up. My question is how can I get it to change the width/height of my images automatically when the orientation changes such that only one image is shown at a time?This is my list:

I am having a problem with stage event listeners in Explorer 7 and up.I place an object, say a circle, on the stage in layer 1. I make it a symbol and give it an instant name of myBall_mc.I add a blank keyframe at frame 25 and create a motion tween moving the circle across the stage.I add a new layer, name it actions and place the following code in the first frame.

Works perfectly when testing. Works perfectly when exported to a .swf in Firefox. Doesn't work at all in Explorer 7 and up.If I add a button to the stage and change the event listener to listen for a mouse click on the button, it works perfectly in all browsers.
Now here's the weird part. If I leave the script exactly like I have it above and place a box, the entire size of the stage, over the stage and set its alpha to zero. It works perfectly in all browsers. This is without even changing the event listener from stage to whatever I called the stage covering object.It registers as a stage level mouse click!
I've tried to add imports but this didn't change anything. I tried to add the parameters ,true and ,false to the stage event listener after the function name. Everthting I've tried comes up short. The only thing that works for Explorer browsers is covering the stage with an object.
i have a hit test point on display object, and if i exit stage over that display object, and then run hit test point it will return true, although my mouse is not over stage area any more, like it remembers the last mousex, mousey coordinates where mouse was and reports that.how do i deal with it?i know i can detect mouse_leave on stage and mouse_out on displayobject.

i am building an xml gallery that pops up portrait and landscape images. the pop-up should fit each image. I had this working fine with the code below and then I added a few landscape images with different dimensions. now the landscape ones all pop-up with too much space around them. the first part of the function just puts the imeges in the right place on the movie;

I am trying to load an online employee directory where I have scrolling portrait jpegs and once you click on a picture employee information (which is a swf) is displayed in a space above. When I load the fla into Dreamweaver the scroll buttons work, all the profile pics appear, and the intial landing screen is there. Problem is that once you click on the profile pics (buttons), no information appears. This works in Flash (CS4) but not once it is in Dreamweaver. I think this is a loading issue? On each button for the images the code I have is:

so mouseOver and RollOver, and their respective outs work great as long as your mouse is actually over the item, or one of it's children. My problem is that I may have another UI component "between" my mouse and the item I want to process the mouse/rollover(maybe a button that is on top of a canvas, but is not a child of the canvas). The mouse is still over the component, there's just something else that it's over at the same time.
Here is a simplified code example detailing my question copy/paste that into your flex/flash builder and you'll see what I mean:Edit, I just made this more complicated and true to my actual problem, drag slowly, if you move your mouse further than the button in a single frame it kinda breaks, but that is just in this simplified version

I thought about using flash to grab the webcam but that obviously wont work on Apple devices. Does anyone know of a way to do it and keep it all browser based? I am trying to customise the truncateToFit option in my Custom Tree. In order to do that i have to render a LABEL into my tree as the tree is not having the TruncateToFit property. I am begineer to flex, and i surfed a lot to see how they have rendered label inside a tree but i dint find any solution.Is my prediction right ? If it is right then how to render a label inside a tree component ?

I'm using the SpinnerList component in a flex mobile application, the spinner turn too fast for my need, is it any way to reduces its speed.
There is many answer regarding the speed of the mouse wheel but no answer concerning the spinner itself.
i've got a few fonts embedded and am using them in my mobile application, and they are all working, except for the ones i try to use for the "ActionBar". They work everywhere else, and substituting "Comic Sans MS" for "titleCGF" changes it to Comic Sans. So why won't it work with my custom fontFamily?

How do you make the childAllowsParent property of an SwfLoader go from false to true, that is, how as a parent application do you set up security to make the child app's events and other properties accessible to you. To read the flex docs on this, one would think nothing could be simpler:
"This property [childAllowsParent] is set to true if the child object has called the allowDomain() method to grant permission to the parent domain or if a URL policy is loaded at the child domain that grants permission to the parent domain. If child and parent are in the same domain, this property is set to true . [emphasis added]" So, I'm in a development environment and want to load an swf from my own system via an SWFLoader and then be able to monitor its events within the parent app.

I am receiving xml from a webservice call that contains a nil="true":[code]I used the Flex DataService (webservice) wizard to create the service objects for the cacheEntry component. This object will be serialized later on a different webservice call and stored in a database.I set a breakpoint on the set SystemFK method in the service object. It appears that the value passed in was an empty string!Allowing this value to be an empty string will cause problems in the webservice implementation in Java on the other side. Since the database value was null it is expecting a null in return, If I avoid setting this value, the serviceObject should send back a null which will make the database happy.How can I detect that a nil = true is present in the XML in order to avoid setting this value?
View 1 RepliesI have a flex mobile application that I am working on that I am having issues with selecting an image from roll/taking a picture. My application is not tabbed, however one part of it contains a Tabbed View Navigator with tabs across the bottom. Within one of those tabs, I have the ability to upload an image to a webservice that I have created. However, when I select an image or take the picture, it pops back out to the initial splash screen and the application restarts. If I use the component standalone (outside of the tabbed view navigator) it selects the image and uploads without any problem.

im completely lost on how to do a simple multiline label. The docs say that labels are best used as single lined elements, but that alludes to it being able to do multiline if necessary. Anyone have any clarification on the subject?

At first, i was just going to use the .mxml applications from my other project file in flex, but they're for desktop apps and running on Flex 3.6, and Mobile apps can't be built on less than 4.5 :P
so, i figured i'd export the first project to a .swf, and load it in my mobile application, but nothing i do will get it to show up. anyone know a solution?
