I am building a control to allow me to set a meeting time, and I would like it to use as a default, the current time rounded up to the nearest 15 minute interval. So if it is currently 6:07, it would read 6:15 as the start time.
Does anyone know how this might be accomplished, or have run across a code snippit that would put me on the right track?

I am experiencing a very strange behavoiour of Flex Date object. My web service is written in .Net 3.5 and all object which I am retriving or updating have Creation Date (Date Type) in .Net code.
But when I am calling .Net web service and displaying data in Flex, Flex displaying a different Date than what stored in web service. When I update my object using Flex UI, every time update time is very different than actual update time set by .Net code.
Do you know any way to compare a date to a range of date using the Date class in as2.
For example i want to know a given day (11-12-2009) is among the start and end date of a given range (11-01-2009 to 11-20-2009).

I'd like the slider to only allow the user to pick the values: [0, .5, 1, 2]I can get it close to what I want by setting the snapInterval to .5 and by explicitly providing the tickValues. But that still allows the value 1.5 to be selected. Is there a way to provide explicit snapValues or to only allow entries in tickValues to be selected? Or do I have to roll my own slider?

View 1 RepliesI have a function which makes a call to the server to load some financial data. This data is then displayed in a grid. In order to keep displaying the latest data I keep making this server call (every 30 secs). I'm using a Timer object to do this. The problem I have is that I have to wait 30 secs when the application starts for financial data to be displayed, what I'd like to happen is that the load data call is made, then start the update timer. Is there a way to set this up or shall I use to data load calls, one to get the initial data, then one to get the updates, which is made every 30 secs?

Since we have filters on these movieclips, flash rounds their location to the nearest pixel, making the motion look jumpy. Collision event was triggered, but it's not what I need. Main thing is that collision event is called only first time when another body entered the detection field... two balls are stationary on stage and I am dragging ball 1 between them. I want my program to deny the ability to do this (technical terms) and move the ball automatically to the closest point available that does not overlap either of the other two balls i.e. the left side of the dragged ball may touch but not over lap ball 3. I have a feeling the circular equation: (x-a)^2 + (Y-b)^2 = c comes into it but it may need pythagoras instead as the balls are all circular but not all the same size. The best way I can see for this is to write a multi-part equation for the bounds of boths balls and then finding the nearest point, but not sure how to do this in as3, perhaps using the 'for each' tag.
I am looking to find out and track how long a round-trip to the server is taking. Just kinda curious more than anything.

But there is a strange problem, after about 2 minutes of inactivity if I try to perform any operation I see that my channelset has been been forcefully logged out Is there some configuration which I need to do in order to prevent this from happening. I have a XML file with a few concert dates. In my flash/AS3 file, I would like to show only the up coming event, relative to current date. Like this:

Event 02: 02-06-2010

Today is 28-05-2010, so I need to list Event 01. On 01-06-2010 I need to list Event 02. I have the basic AS3 code for listing the XML working, but I'm having trouble filtering the result.

All I want to have is a page listing shows that sorts them according to date and also when the show date has passed drops that entry from view.I can do this easily enough with a database and php but want to learn how to do it in actionscript.
