View 1 RepliesI've set up FlexUnit in my app, I want to debug a test using trace, but im not sure how to get flexunit to traceto the flashlog file. Here's part of my test task in ant, I thought the 'localtrusted' property would help, but it doesnt seem to. In my logs I get the testcases only, none of my traces which are inside my tests.

I have an flash application which is simple text editor. I want to save the output of that application as pdf in vector format.
View 1 RepliesIs there a way to know how long one test took in FlexUnit? Is there a way to know how long all tests took?
View 1 RepliesI have a doubt on Flex unit. Unit test cases are really required for flex application for displaying data.
View 1 RepliesFlex is a client-side language and based on events. How can such events be mocked to allow unit testing?
View 2 RepliesI needed some guidance on how to use FlexUnit 4 within Flash Builder,to unit test a Parsley-frameworked Flex application.I have tried lookign at one or two sites but with no avail.
View 1 RepliesI am using FlexUnit4 with FlashBuilder4. A lot of the classes that I'm unit testing make use of the Flash Logger.In the main app, we use TraceTarget so that the logging shows up in the trace window, which greatly aids in debugging:[code]I'd like to do the same thing for the unit test runner that FlashBuilder generates (FlexUnitApplication.mxml), but I'm not sure how to go about it. I could, of course, add TraceTarget to FlexUnit Application. mxml, but as the warning at the top of the file says,My question is: how do I get logging-to-trace to work with FlashBuilder and FlexUnit?
View 1 Repliesconfirm that Flash Builder 4 STANDARD comes bundled with FlexUnit 4 just like Flash Builder 4 Premium trial does? My company is interested in buying a few copies just for unit testing an existing code base. Don't want to spend the extra money if not necessary and Adobe support was completely useless. Also, any other considerations you can think of regarding Flash Builder 4 Standard & FlexUnit 4?
View 1 RepliesI'd like to set up my projects in Eclipse to run FlexUnit tests everytime I save my work.
I found an example with JUnit here : [URL]
How would you do it? Is it possible to run FlexUnit tests without Flash Player?
I am testing timerevent with flex unit. Follwing is the code which i tried ,it always goes to cmdFailed function (Time out function).I am new to flex unit.[code]
View 1 RepliesI want to format a number in indian format.
for example,
x= 123456 should be formatted as 1,23,456.
How can i do it in flex?
In FlexUnit 1 it is possible to access the name of the currently-running test using the TestCase.getName() method because all tests subclass TestCase. In FlexUnit 4, however, there's no base class for tests; the tests are identified by annotations. So, how can I replicate the getName() functionality in FlexUnit 4?
View 2 RepliesIn the FlexUnit wiki I've read about the very interesting SequenceRunner that was contributed by the Fluint folks. Now I am trying to run a test that is very similar to the example, however when executing the run() Method of the SequenceRunner instance, I get this exception:
Cannot add asynchronous functionality to methods defined by Test,Before or After that are not marked async

I've recently started practising test driven development - thus far I've been working on a library project, so I've organised my FlexUnit tests in a separate FlexBuilder 3 project, linking against my library's swc.Now I'm working on a web app and wondering how best to organise the tests for this. At the moment I've put them in a src/test package in the project I'm testing, with the test runner application at the same level as the default application. Is this the best way to do it, or should I have a separate test project and link in the source for the application I'm testing?
View 1 RepliesI am building an app using ActionScript3 with Flash Builder 4 as my IDE.
The IDE supports a unit testing framework called "FlexUnit".
I can build and run tests within the IDE, no problem.
After much pain and suffering I figured out how to build the unit tests as a swf from the command line. I can point a browser or flash player at the swf and the tests run.
But for an automated build system this is no good: I would like to build the tests, run them, and collect/analyze the results to tell which tests, if any, are failing.
I can imaging some hackery: hack FlexUnit base libraries to dump output to stderr instead of just to the IDE console. Hack some script together that points a browser at the swf, counts to 60, kills the browser and checks stderr.
But that's hideous.
I have to believe there's some way to build and run from the command line that works nicely with automated build systems.
Further complication: I am a relative noob with ActionScript (~1 month). My background is C++, makefiles, etc. All the stuff I had to do to get the tests even to build outside the ide (a build.xml file, ant) was complete greek to me, just cut n pasting from examples I could find.
im trying to output my database information in a text input field in flex by using remoteObject(cfc). The information is being provided by a database using a query and an array collection. I'm just unsure how i go about taking the queried array collection information and display it into TextInput Fields.

i need to change the automatically generated index.html flex output to admin.anotherExtension. I understand that if i change the index.template.html the changes in html level will be preserve when the file is generated, however i need to change the name of the file also, and the extension.
View 1 RepliesI'm quite new to AS3 (coming from php/c#) and like it very much. My problem: trace doesn't output anything in the Output window anymore?!

View 1 RepliesI want to make a textinput where a person can type in a price. I used "restrict" to only allow numbers and decimal. But the person can type in several decimals and create numbers like 11.1.1.1 or 11...11 or 1.11111
i want to restrict the entry to only one use of a decimal and only two numbers after the decimal.
any other way to format a textinput to a currency format?
Is there any library in Action Script that be able to convert any video format to .FLV?
I've been looking for it with no success. I thought that as3 had functions for that purposes but not found.
I want to give the possibility that in my site, users can upload any video, so I need to convert it to a standard and compress it to a fixed resolution.
Every time i compile or run, the flex builder opens a browser showing the output... is there anyway we can destory the older window when newer ones open... i mean a setting in flex.
View 2 RepliesI have an HTTPservice[code]...
I plan to add other variables to the output time, so need to access each time and worked separately. I may also need to return multiple responses each with their own worked and time values. How do I do that. I was thinking to not use XML. Is there a more lightweight option. Flex shows I have the following options: array e4x flashvars object text xml
I would like to buffer a WebCam stream and formulate it into flv, this on client side only.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to debug an issue on a Flex Mobile project. Specifically, in order to debug this I need to be using a release build for iOS (it is the only way the problem appears). I am having difficulty finding a way to view log messages on a release build. Has anybody been able to successfully see log messages in the Organizer console?
View 1 RepliesI have a C executable (named myprogram). When I run it by ./myprogram I get some output statements on the standard output of my Linux shell. I used run.php to get access to whatever is being printed to the standard output:
#run.php
<?php
$output = shell_exec('./myprogram');
echo $output;
?>
Then I called an HTTPService having id="service" to access this run.php file and I also set the text attribute of a TextArea to {service.lastResult}. When I run my Flex app, the interface kind of halts for a moment and then the TextArea displays all the 20 lines at once. But if program is run from Linux shell they appear one by one. Is there a way by which I can display a line as soon as it gets printed to standard output? This will then make the TextArea show the output in real time.
Or is Flex unable to do this? Rather how can a PHP program achieve such effect i.e. showing, whatever is being printed on standard output, concurrently in the browser in real time? Myprogram outputs 20 lines each after some microseconds. I want only the first line of standard output to appear in TextArea of Flex or in the browser (but in real time) while the program may then continue running the program.
I've developed web services in C++ and have implemented the ability to provide a base 64 encoded string to send files with other meta data. While I have successfully decoded the string when the encoded data is a text file, images and other binary files are not decoding correctly. Can you point me to a C++ library or implementation of base64 decode that works with Adobe Flex Base64encoder? What RFC does the Flex encode/decode implement?
