Java :: Understand WAR Descriptor And Structure / Flex Project Within WAR
Jan 14, 2012
I am trying to understand why I am not able to launch a SWF from the URL after launching mvm jetty:run on my project. The project has built successfully and produced a Falcon-WAR-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.war in the maven target directory. In this file are the following files - and includes the .swf file compiled from the Flex project.[code]The context root of my application is the same as the artifact ID of the WAR, so it is FALCON-WAR.When I launch mvn jetty:run, I get the following print to the console:However when I try to navigate to URL...on my browser, I get the following, when I expect to launch the .swf file from the web.xml definition.
i am working on a flex+java combined project. My IDE and computer configuration is as follows:
[Code]...
When i make a small change in Flex code (eg, reposition of a button...anything), and run the project on server, it does make any change on output. Actually it depends on my luck... because it makes change in output randomly.what is is happening? tried rebuild, republish, clean , restart server, restarting the IDE, restarting the computer all available feature i could think. Also, i created a simple flex project on IDE and compiled it..... everything is compiled and displayed on output.
With parent artifactId of swf, swc, war set to swf, swc, test respectively. On executing mvn on test folder(for that matter clean or anything) I get this following error.
G:Projects est>mvn -e + Error stacktraces are turned on. [INFO] Scanning for projects... Downloading: http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/test/swc/1.0-snapshot/swc-1.0-snapshot.pom
[code]....
Looks like its trying to download the project from maven's central repository instead of building it.
I received a Flex project but don't know how to open it in Flash builder. It doesn't contain a project.mxml or .actionScriptProperties, .flexProperties and .project files. the file structure looks like this:
(rootFolder) -(com) subfoldrestructure containing only folders and .as files -(src) -(_embed)
[Code]...
how do I make a compilable Flex project out of this?
As ArrayCollection in Flex is limited, I'm looking for a data-structure that something like LinkedHashSet in Java, LinkedHashSet maintains a doubly-linked list running through all of its entries,it defines the iteration ordering, which is the order in which elements were inserted into the set (insertion-order).But there is little information about Flex data-structure
We build prototypes and demo applications in Flex 4.5.1 and AIR 2.7 for mobile and desktop use. These tend to involve a large number of full-screen .PNG files. Lately we have been looking at ways to segment our code for flexibility and multi-screen re-use. What suggestions do people have for segmenting the project and libraries such that compile times are minimal and images are easy to replace?
I've got a Java/Flex project that I'm building using Maven. After doing some research I'm using the Flexmojos project [URL] for the Flex part, and almost everything seems to work fine so far (after a bit of struggling). I'm using version 4.0-alpha-5 (4.0-SNAPSHOT didn't seem to work for me).The Flex projects isn't recognized by Eclipse as Flex projects though. If I manually change the .project file and add .actionScriptProperties and .flexProperties files, Eclipse seems to recognize the projects as Flex projects.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to leverage a vanilla HttpServlet from a Spring-Flex (with BlazeDS) project I'm working on. My team has an HttpServlet that they've used in the past (that some other team built) that processes a request given some key/value pairs passed over HTTP GET. I want to use this HttpServlet class to do the same work, but I want to call it in Java, when my Flex client invokes a method on a Service. Ideally, the class invoking the HttpServlet can use the standard @Service and @RemotingDestination annotations (see here).
So, this is the HttpServlet: import java.io.IOException; import java.io.OutputStreamWriter; import java.io.PrintWriter; import java.net.HttpURLConnection; import java.net.URL; [Code] .....
How to write my @Service class. I've tried going down a few different roads, but haven't had much luck. So far, I've considered and come up with secondary questions on the matter (but I've yet to work out the solution): Do I need a @Controller for this sort of work? Do I need a Servlet Factory? Can the HttpServlet be a Spring managed bean, and call the ASP page another way? (I like this idea least) Should I call the HttpServlet from Flex, and leverage logging and data the Servlet needs with a Remote Object? The reason for my stubbornness in wanting to do this from Java is that I want to do some logging, and maybe leverage some other Singleton beans in the scope of the @Service class. However I work this out, I want to be as close to "Best Practices" as possible.
when i do this locally on tomcat server on local development machine it works fine when i brought it over to linux im getting this error.i dont know what to do anymore it should be straight forward but i'm having no luck. i do have a web.xml and i see a broker for my remote access so i just dont know what it could possibly be
I'm currently looking at structuring my teams projects into a consistent manner that properly utilises packages and is easily version-controlled (via SVN). I'm interested in any 'best practise' with regards to project structuring and how to use consistent packaging without lumping everything into a gigantic [URL] folder structure whilst maintaining that package structure. I'm also keen to use the src/bin/lib folder structure within each project.
I was trying the flickr code provided in the learnwebsite, and I am getting this exception:
[RPC Fault faultString="Error #1090: XML parser failure: element is malformed." faultCode="Client.CouldNotDecode" faultDetail="null"] at mx.rpc.http::HTTPService/http://www.adobe.com/2006/flex/mx/internal::processResult()
my aim is to catch when the session is invalidated and send message to all destination that the FlexClient subscribed that the client wiht id .... has disconnected. I implemented a service which listens for
[Code]...
Problem is that i want to catch messageClientDestroyed and send to that destination a message that the user has disconnected. But blazeds destroys messageClient when you add a subtopic. So how to understand that if session is invalidated and all messageClient are being destroyed or the user just enter another place and add a subtopic to his consumer. I'am also open for other solutions to implement that mechanism. When user disconnected by session timeout or closed the site browser etc. i wanna catch it and send a message to subscribed destinations.
I must integrate a .jar file into a flash project. The project is like this: There'll be a flash video player for a Web Browser with Play, Pause, Stop commands. I must use voice commands to trigger the player actions. I have a .jar that makes the voice recognition so I want to integrate this file with my Flash Player. Is this possible?
P.S.: You may wonder why I don't use other tools, but it's a project for University with given materials, so I really need to use Flash + this given .jar .
I seem to run into compile issues in Flash Builder when I import 3rd-party libraries at the wrong level in the directory structure. For example, sometimes I'll import a library one level too deep into its directory tree, and the package explorer ends up excluding the prefix root-level package, usually "com." or "net.". Even though the content of the source itself doesn't change, this will cause compile errors.
Thus: Is it a 1) convention or 2) language requirement that a class's package structure (e.g., "foo.bar.Class") must match its path location (e.g., foo/bar/Class.as)? If it's a language requirement, why is it a requirement? Wouldn't that overdetermine the package structure, since it is already specified in the source code and quite happily consuming the first three to eight columns of each line? If it's not a language requirement, are my compile errors just a result of Flash Builder enforcing the convention?
I tried with flex and java in the backend. In this, I am able to upload files till 100 MB using remote object (blazeDs) where we will read the file as byte array and send it to the java method. If the file size exceeds after that, then I get the run time error in IE.
I could play MIDI file where "filename" is a String type with "asd.mid" value. However, I tried to sent AIR's nativeprocess command to Java, it shown "could not read" error.
I am using Flex 3 and make a call through a RemoteObject to a Java 1.6 method and exposed with BlazeDS and Spring 2.5.5 Integration over a SecureAMFChannel. The ActionScript is as follows (this code is an example of the real thing which is on a separate dev network);
I'm building a Facebook multiplayer game where the client side is in FLEX and the server side is in Java and I wanted to know if there is a guide on how to build the server clients managing system. When I say server clients managing system, I mean a server which many clients will connect to and will be able to choose between tables to join and play or to create their own table, same way as in texas holdem poker.
I've been tasked with building an AIR for iOS application.Everything is going pretty smooth, there's just one thing I can't seem to get right.I need to make some changes to the application descriptor xml(<key>UIApplicationExitsOnSuspend</key><true/> so the application will exit properly i/o suspending)... easy right? Problem is: every time I press 'publish', flash overwrites my xml and packages the ipa file with it's own xml.
Right away i just try to explain my problem: Using BlazeDS i got the following Javaclasses:
[Code]...
Then i got a Flex service class calling BlazeDS and executing the getCategories java method. Since Flash dosn't seem to understand typed arrays, the result from that method which i get back in flex is a simple array of untyped objects (the mapping dosn't seem to work here, even tought the class category exists in flex and has the same properties). thats the first thing. but however, i'm converting the untyped objects manually into objects of the category.as class. the second thing is that categories have child-categories within the java object, which are also ArrayLists of the type category.java. the problem about that: my result event object only contains the first level of categories, looking into them the children are allways null. i dunno why they are empty, since they ARE part of the java object category.
and the third thing (the strangest by fast), you maybe noticed i named the properties of the category.java class strange, like idCat and nameTest instead of simply id and name. why that? because the property names of my flex result objects dont seem to change when i change the java objects properties names (result object properties are named "id" and "name" but the java class object properties are named "idCAT" and "nameTEST"). that it REALLY strange, since if i set the properties, like you see at nameTEST = "TESTNAME" it IS recogniced by flex, only the proertyNAMES dont seem to be recognized at all.
We're developing an socketserver who should receive xml. our specification said, a xml stream starts with <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><logmsg> and end with </logmsg> Now, i try to add the XML-declaration line to my XML-Object, without success. A own written socket monitor shows only the <logmsg></logmsg>-Nodes. Also trace show similiar informations. Is it possible to add the xml-declaration to an XML-Object overall?
I am newer with flex technology.I am creating a chart using ant file & .mxml in eclipse my 'ant' file executes properly but it gives following error when i opens a .swf file which is created auomatically:
Flex Error #1002: Flash Player 9.0.115 and above is required to support signed RSLs. Problem occurred when trying to load the RSL
I'm coding a web app in flex blazeds and Java. I installed the Eclipse plugins for using WTP mixed project. I'm using flex's server that uses an emulate of tomcat when i ran my flex service the web app got the datas, everythings is ok. the problem is when i copy the project with all files generated by flex in my tomcat or the blazeds's tomcat, it doesn't work, this is becasue i want to implement my app on a server the error is:[code] i don't know why tomcat doesn't find the class of flex.messaging.endpoints.AMFEndpoint that is used for my-amf 'URL...'. all works well in the emulated server that flex has.
Assume I have the following java class public class Square {
[Code]...
Inside an actionscript class, using RemoteObject, I invoke the java method SquareDAO.findById(Long id) an I get an Object with the following: But I don't get the area. How can I invoke the method getArea() ?
i am developing a flash application for ios using new cs5.5, when i'm choosing setting options for Air for ios, i'm getting this error,"Application descriptor file can not be parsed" This is my descriptor file content.when it is creating after choosing setting option Air for ios.
