Earlier today my motion preset displayed perfectly.I was able to set motion presets easily.Then later in the day it will not display.I know that I have to first go to Window - select Motion Preset and it should displayI couldn't be missing a step since it was working perfectly all day. How do I get it back?
View 5 RepliesWhat I have done is create a new actionscript 3 document, imported to stage my bitmap then converting it to movie clip, then i just apply the 3d spin motion preset.When i try the movie it spins ok apart from 1 frame where it looks like the bitmap moves to the left slightly.Do I need to delete frame 1 or the last frame perhaps
View 4 RepliesI have added a fly in right to a symbol and I want to add a fly out right after a certain number of frames. I've been through a tutorial on Lynda of the new CS4 tweening, but what I cannot figure out is how to add the second motion to the new motion tween. When I try to select the last frame or add a new keyframe past the last frame, Flash asks me if I want to replace the existing tween. I can't figure out how, like in classic tweening, to add a fade out, e.g., to the existing item after so many frames.
View 5 RepliesI created a custom Motion Preset, and saved the corresponding swf file to .../adobe/adobe flash cs4/Common/Motion Presets. When I looked for the xml file, nothing. The preset does show within the Motion Preset Panel under Custom, but no preview. I also search for the xml within the .../en/Motion Preset directory as well.re this preset file may be hiding. I'm on a PC and all applications located within my Program Files directory.

When I click it I want a full screen menu system to come in from the right hand side and stay in place until another button is clicked.I have all the parts built, but I don't know how to use buttons properly. The only tutorials I've found are the ones that tell you how to show or hide something, or how to change the appearance of the button.
View 1 RepliesI created a motion preset of a 3D text animation that made the text swing back and forth like a gate with the hinge on the far left side. However, when I apply the motion preset to other text, the text moves to a new location and the text swings closer to the center than the far left side. Moving the text only creates a travel path that further complicates matters.
what am I doing wrong with the motion preset? How can I save something into a preset and apply it to other things and have the animation work the way it was designed?

View 1 Replieswhile ago I made a created a basic effect in Flash CS4 whereby a selection of logos on my web-page gradually disappeared (in the same spot, not shrinking in size first or any other of the effects displayed in the motion presets) think this was done by some kind of preset but it doesn't seem to be in the motion presets panel. I can not seem to remember how it was done and I can't find the relevant settings. I don't know ActionScript so it was definitely a preset.Enclosed are some screen shots of the effect that I mean (stages every few seconds until they completely disappear).

Problem: When saving the file, the "Save As Filetype" drop down is empty and end users can accidentally delete the swf file extension in the filename.How can we lock down the extension so it will always have SWF in the extension?
Technique 1? Set "Save As Filetype" to SWF by default.
Technique 2? Click "Publish as Flash".User specifies the filename.File is saved on the server. User presented with prompt to download file. File is downloaded from the server using the traditional browser windows explorer dialog box (the same dialog box if I downloaded a program from cnet's [url]...........)
I really like the new tweens and motion panel that Flash added in CS4 but I'm having some problems with them that I cant find a solution to.
1. When I animate or apply a preset animation it changes the position slightly. I do work where I need things positioned exactly where I put them. For example X:70 Y:210 but when I animate it might for example change it to X:70 Y:210.5 and to make it more confusing even if I animate a group of them at the same time it only does this to some things and not all. Also if I try to change the position back manually it doesnt always let me in the properties panel. I have to go to the Motion Editor and change it there frame by frame.
2. Similar problem to above but with the Alpha property. I want to animate things where it fades on and then stays up for a few frames and then animates back off. When I try to do this using the properties panel it doesnt always let me. So for example I need my alpha values to be in this order for the 4 keyframes. 0, 100, 100, 0. But for the 0 it might force it to 3% instead of the 0 I need. Again I can only fix this by going to the Motion Editor and adjusting it frame by frame.
If I perform a motion tween along a curved path, Flash CS4 does not allow to change the curves to "corner point" or "linear" in the motion editor. URL...
View 2 RepliesI have been searching far and wide for a solution on how to offer slow motion and fast motion options for users that upload video to my webstie. There is an implementation on Google Video that has exactly what I am looking for: the option to speed up or slow down the video and continue to play the audio. The screenshot is below. I know that Flowplayer has an option to slow down or speed up video when implemented with Wowza server. However, when using that approach, there is no sound.
I have also seen the option from Enounce called MySpeed that allows video to be slowed or quickened, but this requires a browser plugin which is too much of a barrier for our users. How does Google do it? How can you add an option to a flash player to slow down or speed up video?Here is a screen shot. You can see the option to change the speed of the video to 1.5x. It also has options to go to 0.5x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, 2.0x, 2.5x, and 3.0x.
I would like to create a polygon that changes its shape (circle, trapezium, square, rectangle, triangle) based on specific buttons that the user clicks? An existing shape has to be able to morph into all the others. For instance, the trapezium has to morph to a square, circle, rectangle or triangle.
If I were to create each transition manually, I would end up with 5x4=20 scenes. Is there a way that I can just assign each shape to its own frame, and deploy actionscript to set in motion the transitions from one frame to the 4 other possible frames? I am very grateful to anyone to just point me in the right direction,
How do I add motion blur to a motion tween?
View 2 Repliesim writing AS3 under linux and as such do not have access to ANY of the fl.* packages, including tweens, motions, special animations and components. I can only use Math.* and XY Grid Coordinates to calculate motion manually.
I can make movement of sprites fairly easily on a coordinate system, but this restricts how the path can go. Usualy only an up,down,left,right movements for the simplest math. I suppose this could be expanded to move in more varied directions but its not quite what im looking for.
I would like to be able to draw an invisible line that a shape can follow. Then it can have curves or bends in it without problem. I want to then start the sprite at the 1st pixel of the line and set its next coorinate based on where the line is at, but at 10px down it (and so on) till it reaches the end of the line. Is it possible because I cant think of a way? Are there any other good PureAs3 motion tutorials around?
I'm getting the following error: Motion tweening will not occur on layers with ungrouped shapes or on layers with more than one group or symbol. I don't have any ungrouped shapes (it's all text), each layer has 5 instances of only one symbol (keyframes), no objects are grouped and text is all static text.
When watching the animation, the first word (web) looks fine, on the second word (design) the tween fails on the last couple of frames of that clip (the blur filter disappears), the third word (and) is OK, and on the forth word (development) the blur filter is not applied to the last 16 frames of that clip.I broke each animation into its own MC thinking that was causing the issue, but that didn't fix anything.
I recently migrated from CS3 to CS4, and have a question about the "Motion Editor". In principle it sounds fantastic, but I can never get it to work on any of my fla files. The tab is there, but when I select a tween span in any of my files, the Motion Editor continues to say "to edit properties, select a tween span in the timeline or a tweened object in the document." Nothing I do can get the Motion Editor to show anything but this.
Is this because the Motion Editor works only on tweens in new fla files created in CS4? (My existing files were all created in CS3.) Very frustrating, as I would like to use this new feature. I tried to get it to work in a new CS4 file, creating a tween and going to the Motion Editor tab, but.
How can i do it? to keep a gif picture when a play a movie moving... because when i put gif in the stage it doesn't and when i test it. it doesn't move

So that the second image becomes the firts image on the keyframes.Is there a way just to copy the opacity and motion animation ONLY ? I'm actually okay with using the actionscript version this time around, but I'd like to know if there is a way to export a newer tween as an XML file, since it's quite a bit cleaner than the actionscript equivilent.
I'm struggling through trying to learn the new tween system. Is it just me or did they completely NUKE workflow with this new system? Is there any way to copy and paste the property keyframes?I often have animations where things loop, so the last frame of the motion tween needs to be the same as the first frame. In the old days I would just select and copy multiple keyframes from frame 1 and paste them at the end. Done in 5 seconds. The only way I can find to do this now is to hand set every freaking property on every freaking keyframe of every freaking object.
View 1 Replieswhether it be text, symbol, a shape that I drew. None of it works. When I create the motion tween the line arrow in the timeline doesn't show up like it should. Here is the extremely simple animation i'm doing. The problem are for the bottom 9 layers starting from frame 80. I converted all of those to graphic symbols and I'm just trying to do a very simple alpha 0-100 while resizing the letters. I've also tested motion tween on very simple shapes and it never works. I just don't get it.

I've just made my first flash movie in flash cs4 and I wanted to add easing to the (classic) tweens I created. I tried selecting the first graphic, then I tried selecting the (classic) tween span, but each time I go into the motion editor it just says "To edit properties, select a tween span in the timeline or a tweened object in the document".
Does anyone can explain, why on the timeline in CS4 I can move only those motion tween which have the same long? Yet, It's without sense.

2. Import that SWF into another FLA that has a larger stage.
3. Play back (ctrl-Enter) the FLA and the motion (translation etc.) inside the SWF is there, but the effects (blur etc.) are not honored.
