On the timeline I only have one frame (keyframe).In the library I have a movieclip called mc_testi would like to do something like this.1. when mc_test is loaded2. if num == x3. gotoandplay frame 6 (frame 6 inside the clip)I think I would place the code on the first (and only frame) in the timeline och the mainscene.

0i am looking for something easy enough, but i can't find the right way it seems mission: when a button is pressed i want to load a mc (no swf) from my library, play that and when it's done playing(the mc) it deletes. purpose: i just want to make somekind of "flash" "blink" when a button is pressed. when another button is pressed the "blink" loads again. i tried it with the my_mc. _visible = true/false code. but it just doesn't work out.

Then I have 2 buttons play and pause that need to be on the top layer of the new movie and they need to play and pause the loaded swf file.

All layers and consequently all route movieClips that relate to the map as well as the stop codes for the individual route animations now reside within that MovieClip which sits on a new layer above the map key layer. However, the key buttons no longer run the route animations. What should be done so that when clicked they still play the route MovieClips. Its like the button code cant see the layers it once refered to, now that they are in a movieclip.
I am trying to create an interactive graphic. Basically, it's three squares layered on top of each other, with a large square in back, a medium square centered in the middle of the large square, and a small square in front centered in the middle of the medium square.
When you roll over the medium square, say, it expands to almost the size of the large square and some text fades in, and the small square on top of it fades away. When you roll off of the medium square, it goes back to it's smaller size, and the small square fades back in.
Currently, I have the actionscript in the movieclip to make the medium square get larger and smaller (and the text fade in), but I need to somehow reference the instance of the small square movieclip to hide it when I roll over the medium movieclip.
My actionscript for the medium square activity, currently:

My question is fairly simple, but I can't find a sollution. I have a button, and I want to play a movieclip inside a movieclip from the main stage. It is the 5th frame inside the movieclip 'page' from the movieclip 'book'. I have this, but it doesn't seem to work.
View 2 RepliesI was asking button to go to a movie clip on the main timeline that had a stop frame at the beggining. Flash won't do this because it doesn't recognise anything past a stop frame and used _parent instead of _root
code on the button:

And in the stop frame that's at the beginning of the movieclip that contans my content:

View 8 Repliesi have looked everywhere for a tutorial on this - i have tried writing, and re-writing codes....i just cant get it. is there any tutorial i overlooked? here is what im looking to do - NO SHORTCUTS: have my main file that loads the buttons, my external swf container, my intro animations, and my swf "out" and "in" animations when a button is clicked i want it to point me to specific frame labels. i will have an "out" and "in" frame label and which will be the locations of the transitional starting points i want it to play the "out" transition, than unload the current swf, than play the in transition, than load the swf of the button that was clicked i want the animations to all be done using frame labels all within the MAIN swf file.... i have had no luck doing this....and i do NOT like the tween class....

I've got 12 MovieClips, which all have specific functions in the movie. Those MC's will appear and dissappear after a few seconds. But what I want is, that those MC's have to appear at random .If all 12 MC's have appeared, the appearance has to be stopped. So for example MovieClip number 4 has to appear just once. So 12 MC's will appear, but everytime when the movie starts, the appearance has an other sequence.What is written above I want to place in an other MC. So there is one MC which 'load' 12 MC's within it

trying to make a play/pause toggle button in AS3. I'm a newbie but I've finished the site except for this element. my audio file works when i import to the library and it plays it in the preview. its in the same folder as the fla. working in cs3. This is what i've done.new as3 file. code.

whats the deal? I get no compiler errors. i'm hitting option+Return on the mac to test the movie. I downloaded some one else's and it worked. i copied theirs into my project and it didn't work. i have a feeling its something to do with classes that i don't know about
I'd like to load text into my Flash movie to allow a simple 'Noticeboard' inside the flash movie. I've got it working with loadVariablesNum no probs. The trouble is I load the noticeboard into another movieclip. When this happens the text doesnt load even if I declare the variables, do _root etc.

I need some help. I want to use several swf files and have them be called upon in a container file and play them in sequence. It's a presentation that needs to play thru but still have the ability to stop, click on items, open a popup and then continue on in the presentation. I am building all the individual "chapters" and their "sub-chapters" as swf files, with the hope that I can load them in order. I am relatively new to AS3.

e.g. on press of portfolio button it plays out the home SWF which is already loaded into empty movie clip,and then when the home.SWF has reached the end frame it will then load the new portfolio SWF into the same lets say the first 10frames of any of the external SWF are the unraveling of the movie then there is a stop(); function then the next ten frames are the re-packing (sorry for terminology) of the movie
