View 3 RepliesI am trying to make a sound crossfading between the loops (an example would be: same as in a "Winamp" media player you toggle the Crossfading function in a Modern Skin and select a duration of it). Say I got a loop of 10 seconds, altho it is not perfect as its cut of the song without a proper editing tool. Any way I could accomplish it by using the ActionScript?
View 2 RepliesI've been trying to make a sound-loop player for quite some time now (i'm new to as3) and i'm pretty close to do it but still Ok, i've made six letters converted them into buttons and i want them to play a different wav sound loop each one whenever i click on them and to stop the sound when i click again.This works fine for the first button but not for the rest of them because i dont know where to insert the similar code for the rest of the buttons.

I am trying to create a movie that has 3 different background sound loops for the user to choose from as well as an on/off button.I followed one of the Kirupa tutorials which enabled me to create 3 different buttons that linked to the 3 sound loops in my library. The problem is that I don't know the actionscript required to stop whatever clip is playing and play the newly selected background sound chosen by the user.Also I am trying to have one of the loops playing when the movie starts as a default, and also to have a mute button
View 1 Repliesi'm using the loadSound command to bring in an external mp3 and although the file itself is a perfect loop, flash doesn't seem to like playing it back as such using the s.start (0, 5) tag. any suggestions on how to get perfect loops?
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to figure out how I can fade out a sound object after it has looped twice. Right now the sound fades 5 seconds before the end of the first loop (since the fade code is based on the duration of the sound clip).Seems like there needs to be a way to count when the duration has been reached two times and then the fade code is executed. Note: the linkage identifier of the sound clip is "mainPageLoop".[code]...

1. A button is clicked (calling the playSound function)
2. The sound is then played, also a small instance of the button is called from the AS library and placed within a sprite that is within a movie clip at the bottom. The event listener is also removed from the main button so it can only be called once.
3. When the small instance of the button is pressed (within the sprite) it stops the sound, removes the icon and re enables the buttons event listener.
It all works fine, and it is worth mentioning I am still new to Flash but getting to understand it more. I plan on having 20 buttons on the screen, and surely theres an easier way then having 20 functions, all more or less doing the same thing!

View 3 RepliesI'm working on a Flash movie that includes a simple on/off audio player. At the end of the movie it loops back to the beginning and plays again. if the viewer hits the sound off button it will turn the sound off untill the movie loops and then the audio automatically starts again. The viewer would then have to hit play again and then stop to stop it. Is it possible to fix this? I think that I ned to put a piece of code at the beginning of the movie to check if the sound is off or not and then to continue to keep it off if needed?Here is the code for the sound player I am using...

I am making a 30 sec Tv commercial which is flash animation, majorly it is a Character animation.The flash size is 720 x 576, 25 fps(considering it will be broadcasted with PAL system). The procedure. I follow is...
1.Exporting as .avi from flash and importing in Premiere 3.0 with setting as DV-PAL Standard 48kHZ
2. Recording Voice over in Sound Booth 3.0 with setting as Sample rate - 44100 and channel as Mono and importing the .wav file in Premiere.I tried one as a sample but after exporting as .avi from Premiere the animation seems to be shaky. I tried importing as individual .bmp files and also .jpg files in premiere but still the animation flickers.
what would be the right resolution and format to create a flash as a tv commercial?

I have checked out some Open Source ones such as PushButton and my google-fu is too weak to turn up anyone that is commerical (is that even allowed by Adobe in the first place?)
View 4 RepliesI need to play a .FLV file (a commercial), then switch over to a live RTMP stream. Then, every 30 minutes STOP the live stream (or mute/hide it if thats more efficient/effective) and play the commercial again, then continue with the stream for another 30 minutes and repeat. For some reason I'm clueless on how to do this. I don't know if I'm supposed to use timers or setInterval. For now I'm using the FLVPlayBack component (I'm too lazy to code my own right now).
It would be really cool if the script could sense when the video is done playing rather than me having to set a specific time because they might not all be the same length. I dont want my viewers seeing 15 seconds of nothing if its a 15 second commercial and I set a timer for 30 seconds.
I was just curious as to whether or not it is possible to broadcast a live stream and then be able to push in, let's say for familiarity, a commercial? I have tried to find some information on the Flash Dev Net area, however, I don't think it leans towards what I am aiming for.
View 1 RepliesI'm basically looking for something that can play/stream a variety of formats if possible (or if not, to have an easy way for non-technies to convert them to the desired format). I'm also looking for something easy to setup - like including a javascript tag at the top of the page and then perhaps using a div, or just 1 line of script code to make it work. If it's flash, then have to be simple to setup too.

View 1 RepliesI am triggering short sounds dynamically from the library for a game (Specifically Air for Android). When the user clicks a button the sound can take up to 600ms to actually play. I have set it for any silence before the actual sound by calling the sound like so:

All return the same results. I know there are threads here that talk about this but none have offered a real solution that I can find. Is there no way to cache the sound or store it in a buffer?
Shouldn't flash detect these before running the script and crashing and having to force quit and restart (and flash startup takes a while)? Like just give an error: infinite for loop or something? And this happened to me a bunch when working with for loops within for loops, when I accidentally used the same variable for both loops, so of course it never ended and crashed flash.

(its not tooo long) This code works, but it just outputs the default message: There seems to be a problem with my arrays not comparing? Part of the code is: (prioir to this the user inputs numbers, they are copied to text areas beginning with O, on a button press) On a second button press randomly generated number appear to a timer. //compareResult checks how many numbers match between the two sets of numbers to determine winnings.

I'm pulling data from an xml doc and created 4 XMLLists to hold the children of the 4 different elements. Inside the onLoad function, I created a series of for loops to go through each list. But Flash stops after going through the first two. I'm very puzzled by this. I got around it by creating a 2nd onLoad function for the last 2 lists, but should I be using a different loop? Curious.. I inserted a break after the first 2 and then the 3rd loaded up...
