And in the stage i have 3 dynamic text boxes. The 1 one has the variable number1 the secound one has the variable number2. But how do i do so in the third box it says 20? I want it to substract number1 and number 2 and show that in the box.
I am kind of new to Actionscripting, and I have kind of hit a brick wall. I have a variable that I want to subtract the number one from, but I have this formatted incorrectly.
on (release) { var currentslide = 2 var subtractedcurrentslide = (currentlide - 1); txt = String(subtractedcurrentslide); var myString = subtractedcurrentslide + '.' + 'swf'; loadMovie(myString, "rightcontent_MC")
i want to add and subtract a number to the var currentProj heres my logic start value for currentProj is 0 code on prevbtn currentProj -= 1; // should subtract 1 from currentProj when prevbtn is clicked the variable currentProj goes from 0 to -1 to -2 to -3...etc with every click. this is fine once i set my limits at zero
code on nextbtn currentProj +=1; // should add 1 to currentProj when nextbtn is clicked the variable currentProj goes from 0 to 01 to 011 to 0111...etc with every click. this is whack I've wasted an hour trying to work
How can -1.4033418597069754e-14 round down to 0? And Math.round(thisRotAbs) also results in 0. So how can this be? And how can 180 - -1.4033418597069754e-14 = 180?
I use a variable to show the percentage loaded number in a dynamic text box. The problem I have is that it only works when there is more than 1 frame in the preloader scene.
My guess is, that when there is only one frame, the code is not being refreshed to update the text box.
i have a project and i need that when a specific variable equals a specific value a random number decreases on the current number, its easy to make it decrease but i need to decrease instead of 4 to decrease a maximun of 5 and minimun of 3.ere is the code :
when I started my movieclip was simple...its an info popup that comes up when someone clicks another movieclip on the stage...anyhow, when it comes up it looks like a projector screen that is being pulled down...there is also a number in the top right that is supposed to be scrolling...there are two problems with my popup...
1) the scrolling number does not show up...
2) the content in the info popup refuses to stay invisible until the "screen" is pulled all they way down...
the first link shows what the scrolling number is supposed to look like...I did not change anything regarding the scrolling number when I altered the content to fit and look decent in the info popup..
I have animated button inside movie clip. On rollover, button zooms in and rotates. It even swaps depths (that took me a while). However, if I have 10 buttons on the screen, one of them, and only one, will not rotate, and will not zoom, but everything else works. The kicker? The button is never the same. To see what I mean... I have the site staged on this [URL] clicking on the number will show a picture
very little code here (as you can imagine) on rollOver { _root.stopandgoto(frame#); x=0 x=x+2 _root.instance.swapdepths(x) }
I have tried and tried but i cannot get a number to force show 2 decimal places.I have lots of different buttons and selection boxes that output a different value for 'sizePrice' and 'effectPrize'. An example can be seen below:
Code: if (sizeSelectionBox.value=="size1") { sizePrice=67.20; calcTotalPrice();
[code]...
I need totalCost to always show 2 decimal places so if it is 60 it needs to say 60.00, if it is 67.2 it needs to say 67.20
I'm starting my progression from AS2 to AS3 and am running into a glitch that has me tugging at my hair.I'm basically trying to create a button that will generate a random number and place it into a text field. However, when I try to run the script as shown, It hits me with a 1067 Implicit Coercion error message.However, if I run the currently commented out String variable test it works fine but when I try to to run the Number variable code it errors out on me.The random number generation code is working (based on the trace) but for some reason won't show up in the text field (named myText).[code]
Im trying to make a script that show numbers counting to a certain number. Need some help. I want to start at 0 and then counting up to for example 52.
I need to show the amount of times the counter has been moved along the board, ie how many turns the player has.
the dynamic text box is called 'moves' and the counter is a button which is pressed for each move. Therefore, it would need to be added to the onRelease function.
I'm trying to figure out the best code to limit the number of photos loaded into my slide show. Say I want to limit it to 50 pictures. I'm loading pictures into an array and want to stop at 50. Below part of the code.
ActionScript Code: // this frame is for loading pictures into an array noPics.visible = false;
I am making a flash game for a school project, and I decided to make a stick fighting game.once the enemy attacks the player their health just drains. The only way I can fix it is if I have a decimal instead of a whole number, but I have the variable of the health in a text box to display the players current health and it doesn't look to good with a decimal number.So, I am wondering if there is a way to make the health decrease by a decimal, but show a whole number in the textbox.[code]
[code]This passes the date to another function that uses the date to see who in my office is oncall in the database and displays their name. The problem is, everyone that is oncall has to be oncall until 7am the next morning. So this works great IF they were off at Midnight each night. Is it possible to subtract 7 hours from this date?
i'm trying to subtract a very small value from given height.
myMC._height -= .05;
it just doesn't subtract anything. so is flash ignoring to subtract it, possibly because i've too much in my flash file? then again, this works: myMC._height -= .20;
I'm working in CS4 and using ActionScript 2.0.I need to display a date that is five days in the future and a date that is five days in the past based on whatever the current date is on the user's system. The dates must be in the format M/D/YYYY.After much struggling, I figured out how to make the current date display by creating a dynamic text box named showtoday in a movie clip and adding the following ActionScript to the movie clip:[code](Please mentally replace the silly smiley face with a colon followed by a capital D.)Can anyone tell me where to go from here to add or subtract five days from the current date?
I am trying to build a game just for fun and i found something interesting that i really don't know how to do, so any help that you can give me is going to be useful, this is what i need to do, i have a movie clip and i want to subtract another one from just like THIS i can detect the contact but i don't know how to do that.
I'm working on a game for young children and basically I have a dynamic text field with two buttons - one to increase the digit by one, and one to decrease the digit by one. The problem I am having is that although the box starts at 0, you have to click the add button twice to get it started (the same thing with the minus button). After two presses, it increases fine with each single click.
ActionScript Code: var inside:Number=0; inNum.text=inside;
As you can see are the button names: home, about, service and contact. This are also the names of the external swf's. But now I have chanced my button names in: btn_home, btn_about, etc. Now is it a little stange to name my external swf's btn_home etc, so how can I substract the prefix btn_ from the buttons so that the externa swf's can keep their normal names? I know it has something to do with substr but I don't know how and where to implement it.
I need to be able to subtract 2hrs ,8hrs, 1 day and 1 week from the current Date.Then convert to yyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss format.So far I have been unsuccessful.What is the proper method to do this in actionscript?
I have a button that triggers the function addToBet on a card game and doesn't allow the textfileds to show any larger number but I can't top the clips with the coins I'm trying to attach. The function showBet keeps running.
Im having an unusual problem tracking the value of a number variable....I have a number stored in a variable that changes up and down from 0 to 1 i.e. 0, 0.1, 0.2, etc, etc. This variable serves as an audio volume that is used with the soundTransform class.Im using the .text property for a text box:
And here is my volume down code, there is a volume up section that does the same job but reverse:
ActionScript Code: function volumeDown(e:MouseEvent):void { if(_trackVolumes[1] < 1)[code].....
If I manually type in "10" in the text box to represent full volume so as soon as the .swf file loads it says "10" in the text box, I only get the readings: 10, 1 and 0. If I leave the text box blank, it will then increment and decrement 10,9,8,7,6,etc,etc.
My question is: can I somehow have a value manually typed into the dynamic text box without the above problem happening?
