AS3 :: Make An Animation Reverse On A Mouse Event?

Aug 18, 2009

how to make an animation reverse on a mouse event.I have a FLA with 20 frames with a movie clip (box_mc) with a motion tween applied, left to right then stops. I simply want to be able to click on the box to make it play backwards to the starting position. Simple? Not for me it seems. The last frame has a stop action, and the first has the code below.

import flash.events.Event;
box_mc.buttonMode = enabled;
box_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goBack);

Flash :: Mouse Event Handling (Make Symbol Transparent To Mouse)?

Feb 3, 2010

I have a flash that has a background symbol that responds to CLICK event. On top of that symbol I have a sprite that contains a Bitmap with transparent pixels. Both of them are added to the stage, so they are not related directly.

I want clicks on the transparent pixels on the sprite to go straight through to the background. I have read about mouseEnabled / mouseChildren but have not been able to make these work. The symbol ignores the mouse events when I use them, but does not pass it along as if its transparent.

Is this possible to do with flash? Or will I have to re-route mouse events?

Reverse Animation Before Navigation?

May 7, 2009

I have a quick question for any flash smartypantses out there....I'm looking for the most efficient way to do this weird thing...

I'm trying to create 6 menu buttons (all text) that when you click one, a submenu drops down (more lines of text - that fade in individually).

[Code]....

What I'm having trouble with is figuring out how to get this submenu to "close back up" (animation) when someone clicks one of the other main menus (Colors or Locations, in this example.)

How can I get it to perform this animation BEFORE it navigates to the next menu section?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Get Animation To Play In Reverse Order?

I am trying to get my animation to play in reverse order and this is a pain in my leg.I have most of it figured out, this script below. I need to know if and how do I get this forward function to stop at a labled frame or key frame and not just use a number of px.

In this example I have x: "100".I need this to just play till it reaches a stop actions / lable frame or key frame. I have been trying to get this animation to play in reverse order for about a week now and I came across the TweenMax and it has a lot of good subclasses, but not much information online about the reverse subclass.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Reverse Event Bubbling?

Mar 16, 2011

I have a movie clip (cover) which covers another movie clip (stuff).I have set up Mouse Over on the Cover movie clip so that when you mouse over it, it tweens off of the Stuff movie clip.Then i have Mouse out set up on the Stuff movie clip so when you mouse out of it, the Cover clip tweens back in..

Now when I mouse over a MC that is inside the Stuff movie clip..it triggers the mouse out for the Stuff movie clip. this is undesired.I need my mouse to be active inside the Stuff movie, so mouseChildren = false doesn't work,because i then can not click on things inside the stuff movie clip.Right now i have managed to work around this by running a loop for each child inside the stuff, adding an event listener and telling the tween to stop on those events,but this won't work for children of those children without looping again.. and the children of those children's children would need looped as well... The question is.. How do I make a child movie clip not trigger the mouse out for it's parent(s)?

ActionScript 1/2 :: Make A Tween Always Play In Reverse?

Aug 20, 2009

I'm using the native Tween class and have a several tweens which make a button, when clicked, fly up into the corner of the screen. Then some time later yoyo() that tween to bring the button back to where it started.

The problem is that we have a replay button that replays from certain points on the timeline.

I want that if on the "screen" (not flash screens just our term for the range of frames that correspond to the timeline between those certain replay points) the user clicks replay that the button will always play the tween backward, i.e., flyout from the upper corner back to the "start" point.

Since there is no reverse() method or playInReverse() the only choice seems to be yoyo(). And one would think that fforward() followed by a yoyo() would make it always play backward. But I can't make it seem to work.

"Is there a way to ensure that a tween, regardless of how it last player or is still playing, can be made to go to the end and then play backwards?"

ActionScript 3.0 :: Event Handling & Architecture Design - Event Dispatched Automatically At The End Of An Animation?

Jan 3, 2010

The app I want to build is an interactive map for a site I'm designing. In a nut shell, students looking to enter an exchange program should be able to use the map-image (as in, an actual 'map of the world') to preview possible destinations (I've attached an image of the two basic states to clarify).

After an introductory animation, I want a mouse-over to trigger a function that populates the map-image with a series of buttons. I need the buttons to be distributed according to information in an XML file (ie. x/y coords, some information text, and an animation to load upon being clicked). I want each button to call a mouse-over function that loads info data from an XML field and place it in a dynamic text field at the top. Then, I want each button, when clicked, to call a function that animates replacing the map-image with an image of the corresponding travel destination. Finally, I want a button on each image that will clear that image from the stage and call the function that populates the map so the process can start again.

I'm working out of a couple of books on AS3, but I'm a little hazy on how I ought to be constructing this thing. So here's the first place I've run aground: After the intro animation, I want the user to mouse-over the stage and have a second animation play (clearing away the introductory text), and I want the conclusion of the clearing animation to immediately call the map-populate function; but I don't want a mouse-over to have any effect until the introductory animation is finished. Is there an event dispatched automatically at the end of an animation? What is the event listener class?

I'm not sure if I should be storing each of these animations in an independent .fla file or if I should create them on all one timeline and have the program redirect to specific frames.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Proper Listener On Tween Event Inside Mouse Event

Feb 23, 2011

My stage has about 25 buttons on it. Each button when pressed to tweens the background to some random x/y coordinates and then loads an external swf file.This is all working, but the timing is off. How can I wait for the initial background tween to end before I make the loader call to the .swf file.Currently each button's behavior is called on the MouseEvent.CLICK event which calls a function that knows its unique filename.swf. I know you can add the MOTION_FINISH even to the tween event but then I would have to call a new function and lose track of the button that initially called it.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Mouse Event Propagation - Capture Independent Mouse Clicks On Both Of These Two Movie Clips?

Jan 22, 2009

I have a "large" movie clip and "small" movie inside a "large" movie clip but on it's let's say upper right corner:

Code:
largeMc.addChild(smallMc);[

If i try to catch Mouse.DOWN events on them the following way:

Code:
largeMc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, largeClicked);
smallMc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, smallClicked);

Then of course both event are captured no matter where i click.Is it possible to capture independent mouse clicks on both of these two movie clips and if so, how can i do that?
