ActionScript 1/2 :: Generating An Automatic Email Describing A Graphic Selection?
Oct 23, 2009
I need a nudge in the right direction for my following task (I do not neccessarily need a detailed explanation). To make my question simple, let's say that I have an online catalog that will have only 5 items items (thus 5 thumbnails). There will be a SINGLE target (larger) frame displaying the selected item and then a confirmation button. Once the thumbnail is selected, the thumbnail displays in the larger frame (pretty easy so far). But what I would like is that a form (or email) is generated that will notify me of the item selected when the confirmation button is selected.
In other words, the customer selects which painting they desire by clicking on the thumbnail. It is confirmed as a larger image below the thumbnail. Once they click (perhaps) a confirm button, an email is generated describing the selection (in this case it is likely a code associated with the picture - like "mountainstream003"
is it possible to assign code to graphic element so when it's 1/1/07, it displays red color, and 1/2/07 blue? or is it possible to show different graphics elements according to date?
I would like to basically create an flash application that would allow a visitor to answer a few questions and then be presented with an image based on the answers provided via a form. If the generated output is not acceptable - I would like the visitor to be able to regenerate the output with a single click and continue to do so until the image is acceptable. The questions/process would be something like:
1. What is your favorite shape? (a drop down list of data from DB would be selectable)
2. what is your favorite color? (same as above option)
3. what is your favorite things to do? (this answer would work similar to a search and match keywords related to images within the DB and be placed in a designated area of the image)
4. what is your name? (first - last)
the results would then generate a image... Does anyone know where I can begin the process of making a application like this?
I want to build a flash file with a textfield for people the put in there emailadres in. Then a flash movie will play. On the end of the movie i want flash to send a automatic email to the adres that the person filled in at the beginning. It will be a standard email text that everybody will recieve that watch the movie and filled in the emailadres.
I just write text and make it graphic symbol. Then try to put AS on it. But when I click on that to pur the script (v. 3.0), it's says current selection cannot have actions applied to it.
I want to create animations in flash, and then export a sprite sheet with the sprites and a xml(or another format) with information about how to "cut" and move the sprites.
I don't know where to start, use some library for reading swf in c# or java? try to export using AS3 inside the swf?
I never realized that fl.getDocumentDOM().selection doesn't retain the selection order... <sniff>. I was hoping to build relationships based on the order. I guess I took if for granted that tools like Maya and Max store the selection buffer in order of what was selected. I'm trying to avoid: Select Object, <Press 'Parent' Button>, Select Parent, <Press 'Parent' Button>
i am attaching a number of _mc (my_mc) with a for loop. Inside each my_mc is an input textfield (my_txt)I want to click on my_mc.my_txt and select the textfield .the following code allow this and i can enter text from the keyboard however I want to add text from a _mc keybooard on screen (here called myBtn_mc).As soon as I click on myBtn_mc of course I lose focus ... i have tried to use a variable (select) to keep scope&focus
I don't know if this is too much to ask but could someone give me a quick overview on how to create an email form that actually sends the information to my email? I have the form created, and I'll post the .fla file (I allow a laugh at my elementary flash movie. This is just a final project for an intro to flash class), and I understand I'll need the .asp file from GoDaddy setup on my hosted space.
I want to make a button, when clicked, open a blank email in outlook express to an email, with a subject.i take it you would use:[code] just wanted to show you what i meant! that was just a random stab.
I have used the kirupa tutorial on a flash email form and it works GREAT! The only thing is I want to have required fields that need to be entered in for the form to send. If the user doesn't enter anything, it will ask them to in order to send the email.how I can do this or adapt it to the kirupa tutorial code?
iam trying to create an email form with flash cs4. so i've designed the layout and i've written a script to check that the details given are correct. but i am having problems while i am trying to sent those details to my email. here is the script after the details were checked:
here is the issue I am having: I have a button in my main movie and after it is pressed i want for it to open a pop up window right next to this button with some information in it. I have a email button so when you click on that button I want another window to open right next to this email button with my email address.
I built a Flash email sender, its very simple, it just sends all the variables in the fields, no cross checks or nothing.Problem: here's what the end-user email looks like:
Subject: Message from <TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2"><P ALIGN="LEFT"><FONT FACE="_sans" SIZE="14" COLOR="#000000" LETTERSPACING="0" KERNING="0">Smiles</FONT></P></TEXTFORMAT> Name : <TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2"><P ALIGN="LEFT"><FONT FACE="_sans" SIZE="14"
I'll make it short: is it possible to get the user's facebook email adress (or a hashed email adress), so I can let's say compare his facebook email with his email in my database? I'm trying to get a FacebookUser and then use facebookUser.email_hash but that returns nothing.
I'm currently using Macromedia Flash 8. I'm doing up a website purely on Flash, in of the page it involves a "Contact Us" where there is a Form. I need these informations to be collated and send automatically as an email to my email account. I've tried to follow some scripts from this Forum. But when i click the Submit button, nothing happens and I did not receive any email at all.
I have a file setup that will email name, email, and message when the user inputs it in the appropriate input box. Is there a way to email dynamic text within that same email. Im using php to send the email to myself. if you need more info let me know
i have a flash gallery .In this i need a email button ,when click on the mail button an email editor might be open ( outook ) with the currently selected image as its attachment .
I need a good html mailer that will post ...ive tried everything from php to dw formmailer, and it is crazy **** that i cant finish a simple mailer. I just want it to send name and email of someone from a site to that site holders email! I guess I am a moron
I've been making a short movie. It contains some tweens (both shape and motion). I want the movie to automaticly pause at a specific moment (which bisects multiple tweens) and for a button to appear to contine the movie
I've been reading up on GC in AS3, I understand how it works now, and how I should go about things, nullifying all references, weak references, avoiding circular references etc (I tend to have circular references now I think about it).
How does the GC in AS2 work in comparison? How often is GC activated in both environments?
And is performance the reason that the AS3 GC has become less automatic and less frequent?
In AS2 presumably it's having to do far more scans and more frequently, thus being more of an overhead?
How does the delete keyword differ in AS3 compared to AS2? I know many people used null in AS2. I tended to use delete for onEnterFrame events and instances of classes no longer being used, then just remove for movieclips obviously.
/*This creates a new timer object, that fires every 1000 milliseconds (each second), and will fire 10 times after it is started, then stop. Next we will create an event listener that will catch the Timer event, and call a function "changeText".*/
var alienTimer:Timer = new Timer(1000,10) // declare an integer that starts the timer at 10! this shows the seconds left on the timer var secondsLeft:int = 10;[code]................
I've been making a short movie. It contains some tweens (both shape and motion). I want the movie to automaticly pause at a specific moment (which bisects multiple tweens) and for a button to appear to contine the movie. I am completly new to flash and will have to have everything spoon fed to me.
When I instantiate a new object I want the object to automatically be named the same as the name used in the instantiation.var fred:Person=new Person();trace(fred.name); // traces "fred"Is there a reference I can use in the Person constructor to do this?
public class Person extends MovieClip { public function Person() { name = ??? // what goes here? }}
