Apr 17, 2011Is there any way I can embed HTML in flash? I know I can do this with text boxes but is there any other way I can do it? If not I know theres is the load feature where I can load text from a text file. With the html text box editing, Can i link that to the text file?. As in when you edit the text box with html could i have the textbox's instance name equal to the text file? With this my issue is with the <a href> in one textbox, I would like when i click those it open another text file in a different text box.
Clarification: I have two text boxes in my flash file.One has current products. And the other is the description of the product they select. I would like a way to edit and change the products in the first text box without having to keep using the FLA file. Which is why i am using this code

The contents of myText.txt are <a href=(not sure what to put here)> Product 1 </a> But all that does is put it in the text output section in flash.It does not show it in flash. I need help getting it to show up in a text box.That is the first part But the main problem is im not sure how to code the a href correctly so that when i click it, another text file opens in the second text box.So that when a user clicks on a product ,like "Product 1" It opens the correct description text file in the second text box.

Jul 5, 2010I have a linked movieclip that contains two textfields.One of the textfields needs to have regular and bold text, so I thought I would use htmlText however it's only showing the regular font that I embedded?I made the textfield in Flash and called it "details".I also tried to make another textField in the symbol called, "invisi" and I set it not visible:invisi.visible = false;I embedded the BOLD version of the font in the invisi textfield, hoping this would make the "details" text field show the bold font...but no luck.

Html :: Flex - Display HTML Text In A Textarea Control?
Apr 15, 2012I have created a textArea element but cannot display my HTML content. If I just display regular text it works or if I change the textArea element to a RichEditableText element it works fine. Since this is for a mobile app I would prefer to use the textArea element as recommended by Adobe.Here is the MXML code for the textArea. All I get is the border and no content displayed.

I'd like to create something somewhat similar, in which I can simply type out the name of each track and then have the small Play/Pause button icon. Are there any templates that are packaged with Flash CS4 for something like this? Otherwise, if you could point me in the right direction as to how it is constructed and/or a tutorial for creating. - But is the text that lists the tracks done in HTML? If so, then this is pretty simple really.

Jun 7, 2010I am a PHP Developer, I know nothing about Flash and with all respect I do not want to know anything about. I develop a CMS which provides the backend for a Flash front end. Data is passed to the template via XML. Everything is grand. The problem is with text formatting. Currently we use the dodgiest flash text formatter. It doesn't work half the time, its horrible but it - just about - does the job. I have been tasked with replacing it. I would like to bring in CKEditor or TinyMCE but when I do I have 2 major problems.
1) Pre-existing HTML messes up the display in TinyMCE due to its invalidity (I can solve this.)
2) The TinyMCE HTML breaks the flash template because of the valid HTML.

Dec 9, 2010thread with XML in the title so I came on in...I will start with I am new to flash so a novice is an over estimation. I have a flash template for my photography gallery. It is a nice template and "almost" everything works smoothly. Notice i said almost everything, the gallery images loads from an XML file.hats nice for updating the gallery, There is a small slide out window that holds text in the gallery. I am using it for exif data and I am fine with just placing the exif data in manually when I update the gallery. Now for the PROBLEM.... There is a CDATA tag in the XML file where the text goes for the info. When i alter the text in that section it makes all the text in that images info field dissappear at runtime. Any ideas what will cause this to happen. I have tried everything to remedy this it seems. I hav tried the support where I purchased the template

Still, this code does not display bold text:

Html :: Flash - Text With Sound Effects?
Apr 22, 2011my sister asked me to do smth for her that let me scratch my head: she wants to make a signature text in a forum and wants to add sound to this signature so when her post is shown the sound will play in background together with her text signature.
I'm not sure this could be done in flash? is there a way to have some jpeg image with sound effect? or should it be a video? maybe forums restrict adding a flash doc as a signature?
Flash 10 :: Input Text Only Rendering As HTML?
Sep 29, 2011I have two separate projects I am working on, very basic, and the Input Text Box on one is only returning the value in HTML format... I cannot figure out for the life of me why.
The Input Text Box on the Stage has a variable assigned to it. I then have a button that checks the users input... the problem is, the input is being converted to HTML so the check is always failing. When I trace the variable it returns the following result[code]...

Mar 13, 2003I know that with actionscript you can assign certain formating to the HTML text that you use within your Flash animation.
My question is if you can also use actionscript to do the following.
In HTML when you assign as FONT format... font face="verdana,arial" when the user does not have verdana installed, the browser automatically choses Arial (or whatever font you indicated and available on users system) as font to use.
Is the same thing possible within Flash HTML text?
Obviously to prevent that when people don't have the particular font you use for your HTML text, everything screws up

It loads fine but if I add any HTML say for instance <b> the text displays up until it gets to that point and then stops... I made sure that "render Text As HTML" was also checked..

Mar 4, 2011I have to create a web page which can be set to full screen(I mean the real full screen,not like press the F11),in the full screen there should be some words displaying.

Normally,it show its contents(the questions),but someday,maybe a VIP come to visit the page,so we want to replace the whole page with a welcome screen.
Of course we can replace the [URL] (suppose it is the index page) with the welcome text(welcome xxx to our site...) in the server side.
However this is not convenient,and the text can not be full screened.
So I thought the flash,I can add a controller button at the page,when required,I click this button,and set the welcome words,then a flash will start to play with the sepcified words in a full screen model. It would be better if the flash can show the text with a Animation.
I have never did the flash development,so I want to know if this is possible?
BTW,can all the clients change to flash with juse one click?
I mean I click the controller button,then all the client who is visit this page should see the contents replaced by the flash at the same time.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Scrolling HTML Formatted Text In Flash
Jan 13, 2009I'm using the techniques discussed in this thread on ActionScript.org to load formatted HTML text into flash. I also want to scroll said text, and for that purpose I'd like to use Flashscaper's scrollbar. I've run into a bit of a snag, however.
The text displays fine. However, the scrollbar does not appear when initiated and the mask (a red rectangle) can be seen on the right side of the content area; not the entire thing, just a red area about 5-10 pixels wide. The text can be scrolled using the mouse wheel, so the scrollbar functionality is intact. I think this has something to do with the transition within the ContentText function, but when I comment that out, the text doesn't display at all, nor does the scrollbar. Listed below are the three components to this project.

As an update, I did get this sort of working by adding a button that brings in the scrollbar as a separate function. This works after the text's transition has completed. Perhaps I can simply tie the scrollbar function to a timer that fires when the text begins to load?
