View 2 Repliescheck out: [URL] The typewriter effect here is very fast, much faster than when I use onenterframe to produce the effect. Does anyone know how this is done?
View 14 RepliesMy question is, does a better, faster CPU necessarily equal faster SWF compile times? Or does it rely on something else (OS, memory, etc). I only use AS3 and some of my projects take a while to compile. If certain hardware can guarantee me a faster compile time, it'd be worth including those things in my shopping list.
View 2 RepliesI can make a normal preloader, with a bar and percent shown and so on... But I want to make a little thing in the middle of the preloader that rotates faster and faster when the percent loaded goes up. This is what I thought would work:
[Code].....
[code]in my original code..function "test" will change the x axis of the images by Timer..I wanna the x axis of the images can be changed after every two seconds..but when I run it..it's obvies faster and faster every time when the Timer dispatch the TimeEvent the delay always shorter than the last time.
View 7 RepliesI was making an application with AIR+Flex.
One Feature is like: when 'alt' key is down, the mouse cursor changes to B, when 'alt' key is up, the mouse cursor restores to A.
But the problem is that everytime a release 'alt' key, the mouse cursor will change back to system default (Arrow shape), and seems like the focus is on somewhere outside the stage.
That reminds me that, when 'alt' was pressed in a ordinary window, the menuBar will be focused.
How can I stop this default behavior?
p.s. I have tried the following ways and doesn't work:
1) listen to stage's KEY_DOWN/KEY_UP event, and add 'event.stopImmediatePropagation()' in the event handlers
2) listen to stage's KEY_DOWN/KEY_UP event, and add 'event.preventDefault()' in the event handlers
3) listen to stage's KEY_DOWN/KEY_UP event, and add 'this.setFocus()' in the event handlers. And 'callLater(this.setFocus)' doesn't work too.
I am not able to get the name of focused mc using var focused_mc:MovieClip = eval( Selection.getFocus()I am creating new movieclip to which one existing movieclip is attached. this new movieclip is passed to an Object. In this class i am adding some objects with mc's on passed mc. and based on onClick button i am trying to get the name of clicked mc name. But it gives "undefined".[code]when i go to dnd_btn and click it, it is expected that i should get the clicked mc name but i am getting it as undefined.Can anyone please explain me the reason? WHat's going wrong in all this process
View 0 RepliesWell, i know, it sounds easy, but the only thing I want to do is make a textfield that's always focused. When I click next to the textfield on a picture or on the root the focus changes and that's not what I need, the textfield has to stay focused.
View 8 RepliesI've recently began using Flash, and came across an error which I'm afraid I've yet to resolve.While animating some text with the use of masks, it becomes blurred, like this: URL..As you can see, the first text - videos - has no problems, while the second text appears blurred. In the animation, the same happens.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to saturate a flash animation from left to right with a blurred wipe. I am attempting to do this by creating duplicate movie clips, with one of the movie clips having a filter to completely desaturate the color. I am hiding the saturated movie clip with a mask (basic rectangle) that I am animating to move out of the way revealing the "color". I would like my desired effect to "fade" in by adding a horizontal "x" blur to the mask. I have been successful at wiping in the saturation, but Flash seems to be ignoring the blur on the mask I have created.
View 7 RepliesIt is a small widget. It lives in an iframe, and because of this, this method is not working. And since the iframe is loaded from a different domain there is no way to reach the top level window object.

"With the recent new 10.3 player this should be much easier, since there are new events for this specific situation."
So, using a simple flash object, and maybe js callbacks this might be the solution, but what are theese events?
I have 3 text field and i want to change its background when it is focused and change it back to white when the focus is lost.
I tried keeping background = true and border = true, but still i can't change the background.
Also when i keep tf.backgroundColor = 0x00FF00 outside the onSetFocus method then the textfield contains that background.
I have a Flash CS3 movie (AS2) wich uses pixel fonts. The text is within a movie clip that uses the tween class to move with ease. Whe I publish it, everything OK, the text looks very crispy. But I want this movie to be centered in the browser window so I've used the tags <center> </center> in the html file as you can see below. When you play the movie it plays in the center but... with IE8 the text is blurred if the browser window is maximize, but crispy if you minimize the window!! With other browsers it works well with all windows sizes, IE7, Firefox, Safari...
Here is an exemple: [URL]
Code:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="es" lang="es">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />

I am using MX 04 and I have a rather large background for my movie 2046x396 and I made it into a mc to pan right to left... it looks ok in the designer and plays fine in the library, but with I testrun the movie it looks like the image is getting smeared on the screen... the movie speed is 60fps and the background mc I have tried from 100 to 300 frame motion tween.

Have you ever tried to mask a blurred movieclip? If the mask is made manually and set on stage it works ok, if we use:mc.mask = mask;it seems like the mask is also blurred and it doesn't work as expected! Do you have any idea on how to solve this?
View 8 RepliesI'm looking for a code to stop all flash animations on a web page when this page/tab is not focused or active. Because this problem causes performance loss at any computer.
View 1 RepliesHow to make my Text Field Focused , from first load?
View 3 RepliesI don't know if this would be more appropriate under the 3D forum but it could go either way. I'm having a problem: when I access the 3D rotation properties of a DisplayObject (specifically a MovieClip containing a Loader and some TextFields), it becomes bitmapped and loses its scalability. Is this supposed to happen, and is there a way to regain scalability after rotationX/Y/Z are set to 0.0?
View 1 RepliesI have seen people complain about this, but no work arounds. The blurry eddges I see on the rounded portion of round rectangles is awful. IS there a workaround?
View 5 RepliesI was wondering if it is possible to have a mask applied through the setMask(); and have 2 out of the 4 edges blurred. That way you can can get kind of a soft wipe transition.
View 9 RepliesWhen I rotate a sprite - it ends up blurred - or smoothed.
Code:
// rotate sprite
_person.rotationY = 180;
How can I avoid this?
I could get some direction on something that I have been wondering about for a while. There have several flash video players that I have seen that only start to load/play the video when the object is visible on the screen.
For instance, if I click a link to an html page with an auto playing flv on it, and then minimize the window. The video will only start to play/load once I maximize the window again.
The other instance I have seen it is with the position of the page. So if an flv is placed onto a long html page, all the way at the bottom, it will only begin to load/play once I have scrolled to make it visible.
I have done some searching but have not been able to determine what this would even be refered to as. Is it controlled by Javascript or Actionscript, or is this just a the way flash player functions?
Why do MC's display blurred in IE and not in Flashplayer or Firefox?
View 5 RepliesI have a series of movieclips containing both bitmaps and text.After applying some 3d transformations and moving in 3d space, my text and bitmaps are slightly blurred. This is AFTER I reset all the 3d coordinates (ie z=0, rotationX=0, rotationY=0) Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a solution to get my crisp text and bitmaps back?
View 3 RepliesI have two separate video widgets running on the same test page [URL] and when an input textfield from one of the widgets receives focus or is typed into, the other widget goes black.
View 1 Repliesit's possible to change the default key (space bar key) to execute the action of the focused element in the stage?If you ever worked with the Focus Manager you've possibly seen that when you press the space bar the focused item is "executed".Can you disable that "executor" or can you change the space key with the enter key?
View 2 RepliesI just recently started playing with cs5 and it's new features. I tried to rotate a textfield with the 3D rotation tool, but when you do this, the textfields gets blurry.And it seems like it's not a vector text anymore, because when you zoom in, it still is blurry.Is there a way to prevent that?
View 5 RepliesI am making a flash game and I am trying to make it as efficient as possible. I need to set a timer and then do something after the timer runs out.So, that being said I am wondering which method would be faster (or more efficient):Making a timer object and listening to the TimerEvent.TIMER_COMPLETE or in the ENTER_FRAME event of the game checking a Boolean (time) and then if it is true, incrementing a variable until that variable is equal to x, then performing the operations.
[Code]...
so as my title says. I'm wondering if specifying the datatype in actionscript 3 on variables actually makes code run faster
