ActionScript 2.0 :: Drawn Image Is Displayed Under Hidden Layer?
Jan 27, 2012
I've created two layers: 'actions' and 'msk';'msk' containes gradient transparent rectangle. 'msk' layer is hidden in flash IDE'actions' layer containes code, drawing rectangle of other color;
i have got a layer that contains some movie clips but i would like them hidden by default and then displayed when an option is chosen from the combobox.
I have researched the infamous 'Flash hogging keyboard focus' issue, but I believe our issue may involve a workaround that someone else has already come across. I've tried the various solutions I've found on stackoverflow and other sites, which I summarize below.We have a web app, and a particular interface loads several divs that we are using as "tabs". When a user clicks one of the tabs, we hide the current div and un-hide the new one. Our main tab (which is loaded when the page loads) embeds a document from Scribd, which is loaded as a Flash movie. When a user clicks on the Flash movie, they scroll with the mouse/keyboard like normal, and when they click outside of the document control returns as expected.When they navigate to another tab and then return to the original tab and click on the embedded Flash to navigate within it, the embedded Flash steals control of the mouse scroll and won't let it go. The user can click in this document and scroll with the arrow keys and then click out of the document and scroll the parent window with the arrow keys, but mouse scrolling is still bound to the embedded Flash movie. The only remedy is a hard page refresh.[code]This doesn't work -- I can confirm that the element is removed from the DOM, but when it is returned to the DOM it hogs mouse scrolling when clicked just like before.I also tried a similar solution, but instead of removing the element I called [code]
The movieclip itself has button functionaliy (ROLL_OVER etc) and is on the stage with a bunch of other movieclips with listeners.The hidden layer of this movieclip off to the side a bit from the main part of the clip, and its getting in the way of other movieclips that also have listeners... so the other movie clips lose their 'functionality' when I'm hovering over them at a spot where the hidden layer is. I need this hidden layer to appear at certain times so I can't get rid of it totally. Currently I am changing the x value of the hidden layer to push it off the stage, and then pulling it back when I need it (and this works) but this seems a bit unnecessary..
I'm new to actionscript 3.0. I'm facing a problem on my flash file that I created. I did a carousel through scripting but the carousel was hidden behind a background image that i added on one of the layer. What can be the problem for the carousel to be hidden behind the background image?here is the code for the carousel:
const NUMBER_OF_ITEMS:uint = 8; var menuItems:Array = new Array(); var txtArray:Array = ["Pop/Rock", "Hip Hop", "Electrónica", "Jazz", "Ambient", "Folk",
I am building an air app, which includes an XML with text and images.Although the text/links and all the html tags work, images do not. How do I fix this?I didn't find any option in publish settings that may have to do with it.Forgot to mention, I am using Flash CS4 and AS3 to build this.
Im trying to build a site where the images are load in via AS. The problem I'm running into is that the image that is loading from outside of the swf file is now covering my hot spot( buttons). How do I make it so that the load in image will always show up under the hot spots ( buttons)?
I am creating a preloader for a an image that is drawn from an xml attribute linkage. within the instance of the item being loaded there is an onEnterframe that contains this preloader.
Error "TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at Show/displayImage() at Show$iinit()" public function displayImage(imgPath:String,imgWidth:Number,imgHeigt:Number,imgXPos:N umber,imgYPos:Number) { var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(imgPath); var loader:Loader = new Loader(); loader.load(request); loader.x = imgXPos; loader.y = imgYPos; addChild(loader); trace(loader.content.width); }
i need to have the user be able to draw an image with lines, and then i need Flash to recognize this image somehow, and once the image is recognized, that specific .swf assigned to that image is opened. Now i have the drawing down cold in Flash .Even if it's a "That is so not possible!" type of remark

i used URLStream object to load an image file progressively by reading it into a bytearray My code is very much similar to that atthe problem that i got is a very rare problem i.e. it occurs very rarelythe problem is that sometimes the image does not get fully displayed even after event.complete of the urlstream object.(the last packet of image data is not shown);i used a timer with delay 100ms after the event.complete event to address this issue for the time being.
For instance the mx.controls.Image objects are only displayed when i add them directly to the main application object. If i add a "subimage" to the previously created Image object it simply doesnt show.
What I want to do:
var img : Image = new Image; var subimg : Image = new Image; img.source = "images/panel.png";
I want the page to be drawn as in intro animation. For example the screen is blank at first and then the image is drawn from the outside in a thin line until the whole page is drawn and then fade the lines into the actual design.
I have a gallery where if a thumbnail is selected it preloads, then fades out the current image and fades in the next.
If the user selects a thumbnail then selects a different thumbnail before the previous image has fully loaded (and faded to alpha=100) it is problematic. How could I code this so that a thumbnail could only be selected if there is an image displayed on screen?
My files are here [URL]
I also need to do exactly the same thing with the main menu buttons. I've attached the .fla + dummy .swfs
I want to tween between two integers. Example: I buffer 360 frames (images). I want to skip to frame 100 (from frame 1), but I want to use ease to make it look better. All I need is to tween an integer that I will use for the current image displayed. So far so good, but I'm not getting how to update my image in the tween:
I am trying to draw a line from x1, y1 to x2,y2 and i want it to be a line that repeats a pattern from an image. All I can see is that you can only draw lines and change their color or thickness but I would like it to repeat an image. Is that possible or do i have to use a really long and thin rectangle with a bitmap fill?The problem is I am making a game where the user will be able to actually draw the line so i have to make it be created dynamically. The game fantastic contraption [URL] has in the game a feature where you draw lines of any length and position that are filed with a picture.
I need to make a series of 35 buttons that display an image when clicked. However, I need the previous displayed image to disappear when any other button is clicked.I have this to toggle the images on/off:[code]Any idea what I can add to the function to turn all the other buttons visibility to false when any other button is clicked?
I'm writing a flash movie that creates a few boxes displaying an image that you can flying around the screen with a sort of gravity effect eventually slowing them down. I've managed to do what I thought would be the hard part... I've made a movie clip in which theres a button (to detect the clicks and drags) which contains a graphic (a .png file). After adding some nice bits of code, I can now stick loads of instances of the movie clip on the main stage and then start flinging them round.
Now what I want to do next is change the image displayed on the button in each instance of the movie. Logically, something like : myinstanceofmovie.nameofbutton.mygraphic="name_of_ other_image.png" ...or something...
I'm trying to write a little flex app that has a paint/canvas type feature to draw an image, which I then want to post to a rails server side. I'm following the post here, but can't get as far as he did due to the following error: NoMethodError (undefined method `rewind' for #):I googled that and found this which says the problem is due to an empty filename, but I thought I had that from the example. However, I altered the example to simplify the post by reducing the form parameters, but I could have easily messed something up since I really don't know what I'm doing with this multipart form content. I was hoping to at least log the request params, but unfortunately I can't, since it's failing before being routed and due to my inexperience with rails. I'll ask that in a separate question and hopefully be able to edit this question with the request params.
The purpose of this is too allow a user to upload an image from their machine to be displayed on a website. The code's pretty straight forward and i have it all working fine, but have come across an issue. When certain portrait images are selected to be loaded and displayed, they get rotated at some point in the process and become landscape? There doesn't appear to be any consistency to the way they are rotated. Some are clockwise, some counter clockwise.
The one thing i've noticed though, is that it doesn't appear to be an issue with images that have been re-saved (so simply taken into photoshop and then saved without any modification), only images that are the original source of an image taken by a digital camera? This has got me wondering whether there's a possible issue with flash reading the meta data of the source image? The attached zip file contains the source code and swf, a selection of images from 2 different camera's and a modified image.
Just to note, due to the dimensions of the images, in the source code the bitmap is scaled to 0.1 so that the result can be clearly seen. I've tested this without the scaling and the image still gets rotated. There's a trace in the Event.COMPLETE handler of the Loader.loadbytes() method and you can see from this that the width and height of the loaded image have been switched? Note - due to the size of the zip file (4.6MB) because of the images, i've put them up on my server for download instead.[URL]
I'm trying to put an image, generated from some text, in a RichEditableText. Since it's a styled text, I thought about putting it another RichEditableText, style it, then print it to a Bitmap to use as source for InlineGraphicsElement.I use the following code to do that
var txt:RichEditableText = new RichEditableText(); txt.text = name; // Appliy given styles to the text flow of input rich editable text
I have just taken over a Flash website for a friend (like two days ago!) He needs me to add a picture to a movie in his website. He likes how the previous designer has the images fading in and out not a slide show, i 10 layers with actions on each) so I figured I could duplicate/copy an existing layer & paste it into a new one... but here is my problem, when I change out the image on the new layer it also changes the image from the copied layer. What am I doing wrong?
I'm loading an image in a UILoader Component (created during runtime). var lb:UILoader = new UILoader(); addChild(lb); Now when I load any image into this then it loads on top of everything.I know this is because it goes over the top of stack. But is there any solution by which i can move it downwards or even at the bottommost layer. I've tried setChildIndex(lb, 0) though but it didn't work.
I downloaded an image from the web and brought it into Flash. I then created a new layer and began tracing over the image with the pen tool. When all was said and done, I went to use the paint bucket tool to fill in the sections of the paths I created. My only problem is I can't fill the image. I click and click and no color is being filled. I tried converting the selection to both movie clip and graphic symbols and I still can't fill it in.
