Actionscript 3 :: XML Portfolio Images Stack On Top Of Each Other Instead Of Being Terminated

Feb 13, 2011

i recently started to learn AS3 and i decided to make a portfolio website with it. I am loading the information about the websites i created from an external XML file.Everything its working well but when i load a new picture to the stage the previous picture remains there which in my understanding it shouldn't happen. As i understood from Adobe's AS3 Guide once you create a new instance of a loader, the previous one should be erased.

I've been looking all over the place for a solution but i can't find one that will work. I tried using the .unload class and i tried removeChild as well but it keeps giving me errors.

ActionScript 3.0 :: String Literal Must Be Terminated Before Line Break

Dec 28, 2008

I have copied some code from a tutorial only I seem to be getting problems with strings whenever I use newlines. Even putting:[code]Does this mean that in CS4 that newlines in strings are not allowed? I've also tried concatenating the string lines together using += but that didn't work and was tedious. Also, adding to the end or start of lines doesn't seem to work.

Flash :: C# - Block Elements In The Web Browser Control?

Jan 17, 2012

I building a C# application with a WebBrowser control in it and and I am trying to figure out a way to get the flash content within the web page to not display as it is sucking up a ton of my CPU and memory. I've been trying to remove the <object> tag within the page (there's only one) by getting it via browser.Document.GetElementsByTagName("object") and setting its outerHtml to an empty string. It returns one element (confirmed by the Count property) but accessing the first element ([0]) gives an index out of range error. I've tried doing it via a foreach loop but nothing happens at all and there are no errors. If I try to retrieve <div> elements instead of <object> elements, the foreach loop runs. Am I doing something wrong here, is there a bug, or is there a better way to remove the flash content?

[Code]...

EDIT: I just figured out that while the DocumentCompleted event is being called, it is being called before JavaScript injects the flash content onto the page. I've tried a few "sleeping"-like methods but they all stop the web page from processing too. Any way to wait for more time (5 seconds or so) while the webpage continues to render?

Flash - Block / Prevent Loaded SWF From Accessing Loader Stage

Sep 29, 2011

I have two SWFs: a Loader SWF, and a Loaded SWF. I need to add the Loaded SWF to the display hierarchy, but I don't want to give it free access to the stage. It may, for instance, attempt to change the scaleMode, and I don't want that to happen. What are some good methods for restricting loaded content's access to the stage? I may, for instance, want to allow it to access the stageWidth and stageHeight, but not the scaleMode or align.

Additional Constraints. I can't change anything about the Loaded SWF. Both SWFs are in the local-with-file-system sandbox. These SWFs are both Flash Player 10, ActionScript 3, made in Flash Professional. Not AIR, not Flex. I'd love to be able to implement a proxy class or a getter to somehow intercept calls to the stage, but I don't believe there is any way to.

I don't believe, for example, that you can subclass the Stage class and use that subclass in place of the normal Stage object referenced by the stage property in all MovieClips. The stage property is read-only, so it can't be cross-scripted by the Loader to point to something different.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading Data From XMl File And Uses It To Run An If Statement. If Statement Fails?

Oct 10, 2008

The Flash movie contains 2 Text files, one Component button, and 1 component checkbox.The purpose of the application is to load an XML file(works)Populate 2 text fields with information from the XML file(works)Compare the two text fields, if they contain the same information then the checkbox, via AS is told to be selected. (Heres the problem);

Heres the code:

Code:
runCode_btn.onPress = function() {
data_xml = new XML();
data_xml.ignoreWhite = true;
data_xml.onLoad = function(success) {

[code]....

The idea behind this app is that its an electronic form. The user fills it out, the information is then sent to a newly created XML file, months later the open the XML file in flash, and Flash fills out text fields and check and or unchecks Checkboxes based on the XML data.CheckBoxes are mandatory.But I don't see how I'll be able to use them if i can't create and condition statements based on the loaded Data.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Use A For Statement To Create An If Statement

Jul 12, 2010

what I'm trying to do is create an else if argument for each object in an array based on a user set number

Code:
for(var i:int=0; i < numberOfElseIfs; i++){
GENERATE AS3 CODE
}

to which I want it to GENERATE THE FOLLOWING CODE:

Code:
}else if(baskets[i].used == false){
baskets[i].used = true;
drawButton(i);
}

the problem is obviously that the compiler reads this code rather than understanding I'm trying to regenerate the code within the for loop...does that make sense :S? So basically I need as3 to read the code between the for statement as if it is going to echo that out later. Is this even possible?

Actionscript :: HtmlLoader Block Ads?

Dec 14, 2010

I've got an AIR app that is loading mx:HTMLs. I would like to block the ads that show in them just like Adblock Plus for Firefox does (see http://adblockplus.org/en/). I subscribe to the Easylist USA filter.

var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.google.com");
thisHtmlWindow.open();
thisHtmlWindow.htmlContent.htmlLoader.load(req);

I don't know where to begin to interrupt the HTML GET-ting process in actionscript. This is where I suspect I can add the HTTP filter. It'd be nice to subscribe to the filter and periodically download it/update it to make sure the major ad networks are blocked.
