ActionScript 2.0 :: Interval - Image Loading Every 30 Seconds

May 23, 2007

I have a website that I'm working on, and it's background consists of different full-screen images. right now, it's set up so that each menu button loads a new image file from a folder into the background mc. What I want instead is for it to load a new image every 30 seconds or so. There needs to be a transition between these images...either a direct fade or a fade to black then to the next image if easier. I doesn't necessarily need to be random.

I have the following actionscript which is working fine, but I would like to wait for some seconds each image once has reached the alpha in 100, if you see the example in the headerwhat it does is that the image fades in and when it gets to 100 starts fading out, and I want that when it gets the alpha in 100, keep it for let's say 5 seconds and then fade it out.

square._alpha = 0; whichPic = 0;
_root.onEnterFrame = function() { if (whichPic<4 && !fadeIn && !fadeOut) { fadeOut = true; whichPic++; } else if (whichPic>=4) { whichPic = 1; } if (square._alpha>10 && fadeOut) {

May 16, 2010

EDIT: It seems that after sometime working on this i have been able to come up with something which works the way i want it too, however there's this small problem. When i hover really fast over my buttons, it feels like flash just has a meltdown and stops running the function i have inside my button onRollOut.

So i got 5 frames with names "marine", "architectural", etc

In the first frame "marine" there is the following code (i've only included 1 of the buttons, but there another 4 with identical code where appropriate):

Code:
stop();
//enter current[] and goto[]
//current[marine][2] -> next[architectural][3]

ActionScript 2.0 :: [FLASH 8] Transitions - Dynamically Loading Images That Stay On The Screen For X Amount Of Seconds

Mar 17, 2006

I am using an external actionscript file, and I have dynamically loading images that stay on the screen for X amount of seconds (the user can set the value of x), then it loads the next image. However, this user would like for there to be a transition, For Example, have it fade out and have the next image in line fade in after the image has been displayed on the screen for X amount of seconds. This user would also like a loading bar, much like the one on the flash banner here: [URL] between each image transition.

I also have it so when someone hovers over a button, the flash banner stops, once they rollout X is reset to 1 and starts the counter again, and sets the movie to play at frame 1. Here is the actionscript file: [URL]

Flash CS4 Loader Class: Image Loads Initially But Error Returned When Loading New Image

Mar 22, 2011

[code]This script is for a loader image gallery in flash, as part of a class assignment. What happens is that in flash, when I open the swf file, the initial image (images/nair_evanescentautumn.png) will load fine. However, clicking on any thumbnail image (including the exact same images/nair_evanescentautumn.png), will result in an error saying the file cannot be found.I cannot figure out why it is doing this... I've tested it over. Clicking each thumbnail does go to the correct position in the two separate functions. All said full-size image links are in the folder images/, and replacing the initial loader image will load the other images in place of the default one. However, clicking on any thumbnail still results in URL not found, even though everything works correctly.[code]Before anyone asks why I'm putting this kind of content into a flash site, I'm not--this is only for a class assignment. I'm just trying to figure out why my images aren't loading right when I'm only doing the exact same thing in the functions as I am on the other pages.Of note, commissions.swf has the exact same feature, just with swf files loaded instead, and it works perfectly fine. home, traditional, digital, and photography all have the image gallery, and all have the same issue (I only referenced one page because if I can fix one page I should be able to fix all of them).As for the artworks, they are all my fiance's. The website design was built for her, and I used the website design for this project because I didn't want to have to build an entirely new interface design. Since the project also required a gallery, I felt that this interface would work just fine.
