ActionScript 2.0 :: Load Movie MX - Show In A CD Presentation?

I have a numb er of movies that I would like to show in a CD presentation. I have a main movie that pays through and has button which I have linked with load movie AS, each mivie has also been set to fullscreen using fscommand. What happens is that the first movie loads then I click the button and it opens that mew movie but it doesn't open it in fullscreen. If I open each movie individually through the swf that work fine and are fullscreen. What am I doing wrong. I have just use the following AS for the buttons in the main movie:

I am using currentSlide.gotoNextSlide to change between slides, however I can't make it stop playback on load of each slide.I have a motion tween with I need to NOT play automatically when the slide loads... but no matter how many iterations of stop(), gotoAndStop(), etc I use, nothing will stop the clip from playing when it is loaded!

I'm trying to use text effects, but cannot get them to work in a slide presentation. Is there anyway to utilize AS3 in this AS2 based function? I need to use a slide show so that the presenter can control the speed of his presentation.

I have a flash movie, that shows a message to a user when it first loads up. When the users mouse enters the stage or moves the mouse the message disappears. However I would like to hide the message if the users mouse starts over the flash movie on the page load. Is this possible or does it need an interaction first?

Making a photo slide show to load as an external movie clip on my site when a button is pushed . Here is a link to the .swf file:[URL]..Basic problem: There is text that describes each set of 6 pictures. After the set of 6 pictures plays through the text is supposed to disappear and a new text appears to label the next set of 6 pictures. Problem is: the text doesn't disappear!
I made all the text layers a symbol/movie clip. I animated each text to disappear at a certain point in the timeline but when I test the movie the texts just remain there and build up one after the other.
When watching the movieclip, pay attention to the text in the lower left screen.

Im trying to create an interactive presentation in a similiar style to the one used in the url below...URL>>.So far i have several movie clips that play in order on the timeline, and several buttons that when hovered over go to a specific label that will play each movie clip again and continue the presentation.[code]What I cannot figure out is how to make the button play a movie clip in the presentation and then pause until the user selects another button (similiar to how the animation works in the example url).

I have a .swf movie that is accessed through a link on a website. At the end of the movie are two buttons: one for "Back" and the other for "Replay." I have the buttons working so the Back button goes to the previous URL and the Replay button, well, replays. However, the Back button opens a new window. Is there a piece of Action Script 3 that I can add to the following to close the window in my .fla Action Script Window to close the window as it jumps to the URL? Here is the script.

What prevents Silverlight MVVM to be implemented like Flex ? Doesn't Silverlight have same capability in event system to do the same? If yes why does Silverlight do things more complicated what's the advantages then ? Is it about using Class Interfaces which are more strongly typed? What are the disadvantages also ? For example as for implementing MULTIPLE VIEWS for 1 View-Model does Flex implementation make it also more obvious?

i'm having this weird pb i don't understand, could someone help me? i'm driving crazy here..what i do is load a movie from a movie but the 2nd movie load a variable. when i test the 2nd movie, it loads its variable and displays it as wanted, but when i load it from the 1st movie, the 2nd movie loads but seem not to load anymore its variable..

I'm using Flash MX 2004 and actionscript 2.0 and have been working with the xml and adding thumbnails to the photo gallery tutorial in Kirupa. What I'd like to do is only show the thumnails onRollOver and then have them go to open a new page outside of the flash site onRelease. So far I found one solution for the onRollOver but I'm not sure it's the best one:

This works great but with one big hitch. It loads all the thumbnails first and then once I run over all of them it hides and shows them onRollOver and onRollOut. Is there a way to hide them when the page first loads and then only start showing them onRollOver? Is there a way to create a mask hiding everything until onRollOver or possibly a setting for the initial mc.borderFill that would create that effect? Or would it be better to try to figure out how to load them onRollOver. The other part is the link to another site onRelease. I have the links setup in my xml but not sure how to set up a geturl onRelease with _blank to read into the actionscript. I'm very new to working with xml and actionscript.

I'm currently making an animation which will eventually exceed the 16,000 frame limit (don't ask haha), so, short of making two movies and having to just start up the next one, what is the code for loading a movie? I presume they need to be in the same directory? So basically all I want is on the last frame of the movie the code executes and the second movie file opens up and starts. I guess I'd want the current movie to close, too.

I Have 3 Movies:MAIN.SWF, contains loading movie actions for Nav.swf and Home.swf.NAV.SWF, contains navagation menu loaded on Level 2 in Main HOME.SWF, contains slideshow for home page loaded on Level 1 in Main In NAV.SWF, there is a MOVIE CLIP "graphmc", which contains a BUTTON "graphicbtn", When this button is clicked, I'd like the HOME.SWF (which is loaded into Main.swf on Level 1) to fade out and unload, and load and fade in Graphics.SWF in place of it.

I'm trying to set up a preloader to show the load progress of the main swf, which has all of it's assets embedded. I found the factory class method as described on bit-101, but no load progress ever seems to show. The swf loads fine, but the bytesLoaded is always equal to bytesTotal and therefore the preloader is never called.

This correctly calls the Factory class first, and then instansiates Main and calls init(). But as I mentioned above the preloading is never shown as it seems to be loading everything straight away.Is this a problem with the way I'm embedding the images or because I'm testing locally?

I need to be able to load a jpeg/png image from disk and show it in flex and send it to a server as a base64 encoded string. But once the image file is loaded, in my flash.display.LoaderInfo object, the bytes property (type of ByteArray) contains more byte than the file content.

I have a Flash site that I'm designing. The movie that I'm working with is the main movie into which my external .swf's will get loaded into. Now in the very first frame of my main .swf I have the progress bar component setup running in manual mode (I'm running in manual mode because I'm not using the loader component in conjunction with the progress bar. I figured that I wouldn't need the loader just yet because this is the progress bar for the main movie and not for an external .swf...) with this code:

Now when I test it in FlashMX 2K4 Pro using "Simulate Download", everything works fine EXCEPT: Theres this white box that shows up right where my progress bar is in the first frame. After the progress bar loads (itself) then, you actually see the "candycane" indeterminate load bar and then after my other frames in the movie loads, it goes into my second frame and everything is cool.How can I make that white box go away? I tried using actionscript that would make the progress bar invisible until after it finished loading and then go to visible, but when I tried that, the component never came back visible. I just need to make that white box go away, it's taking away from the "beauty" of everything else. Also, my load bar doesn't show any percentages. It just flashes "loading" until after the rest of the frames are loaded. How can I get it to show the percentage of whats loaded so far?To download a copy of my .fla, just click here.

I got my dynamic loaded text files into my flash files down...but the problem is it does not show characters such as the % sign.I thought I just had to add a slash before it like /% but it still doesnt work. All it shows is the slash.

I am using Flash CS3 on Windows and using Dreamweaver CS3 to embed my flash content. I have a Flash banner/animation on my main index.html page that I cannot get to show up. I have provided all relative info/files below. It works find on my local hard drive, but when I upload it (from several different FTP clients) it won't show up on several different computers browsers. It's not my FTP, other items are uploading fine, and I don't think it is browser issues.
I checked the source code of the uploaded site against my Dreamweaver code, and it seems to be the same. So I can't understand what's going on.I tried resaving the file under a new name. The weird part is, I embedded a .swf file initially and it worked. I was asked to make edits to the movie, and I renamed it, replaced old files and now it won't work. I've created three swf-files and added to a website.Two are created the same way (AS2), by adding a quicktime-movie and exporting as a swf.
On my computer (mac) and n a PC I can view both movies, but on two other computers (mac) only one of them show up. I've tried to download quicktime player but without results.

I wonder if it is possible to show only the top part of a movie for some scenes? I have set the movie size to 800x1200, but would only like to see the top 800x600 in the browser window for some scenes (the reason for this is that one scene might have very little content, while other scenes could have a lot). Is that possible? I guess that either it's impossible or it's dead simple...

I want to create a shortcut with the key 'f1'. If pressed the movieobject 'uitleg' visible property will be true, the movie object is actually nothing but some text which explains what to do. When pressing f1 again the visible property will go false again and you can continue with the game.
I hoped the following code would work, but nothing happens at all. If i remove the && (uitleg._visible = false) it does work, but I wouldn't know how else to set the property back to false when pressing the f1 key again.

I created a basic flash movie for a client's site. The only action script code that I used in my file is a stop command to stop the movie from looping. My question is why don't my flash animation works when I use LIVE VIEW IN Dreamweaver. or when I preview my site in a browser .the only thing that will display is a huge white box. The flash animation will load up from (Flash Professional) when I do a publish preview but when I insert my flash into Dreamweaver and use live view my flash don't show ...just a white box.
