How I can make the particle properties refresh every time it loops. In other words, the rotations will be random every time I test the movie, but every time it loops, they remain in their same random positions it chose at the beginning. [code]...

I am trying to create 6 TextFields with a loop which I have done but I can't seem to figure out the right syntax for setting the properties such as font, size, etc. in the loop. Here is my basic code:

Is it possible to make this a mask? The system contains one movieclip of a circle called ball, also a class called ball and a class called particle. I want the particle system movieclips to display an image...I'm sure this is possible...just have not been able to find a way. A little backround, I'm a completely selftaught n00b when it comes to AS3, but I'm grasping it fairly well... the tutorial is on this website, called A Simple Particle System Using Actionscript 3.

I have the following 'for' loop runningit animates squares so they fall down the page and land in rows.Once a row has landed I need to fade up an image on some of the squares. But I can't seem to run anything till the entire for loop is ended... any suggestions? I think I really need to run another routine at the same time, but how do you run 2 'for' loops at the same time?

I am making a banner for my web which consists of jigsaw puzzle pieces (40pieces) moving and positioning until they cover the whole banner.I have stored all final positions (x and y) into 2 separate arrays and created 40 instances (i have 20Mclips and i repeat each one twice to get those 40). What i wanted is make each intance move separatly like with a timer and for loop to pick each piece, do the moves with tweenings and wait around 1sec and then do the next loop with and then move the next piece and so on and so forth.My problem is that I dunno how to cycle through each piece (named and in an array) and make the specific move without doing it all at once.

I'm a newbie to Flash. I have created a basic screensaver which has 8 different layers. 7 are hidden and 1 plays through as it is now. I was wondering if there is any way that on completing the timeline, it starts the timeline again and then shows the second layer and masks the 1st one. It would then do the same, masking the 2nd layer and showing the 3rd and so on.

I have no idea how to use AS3 and I was needing to make my project looping 3 times from the start to the end but stopping on the last frame after the 3rd time it loops. I have no idea how to do this without copying all the frames.

I am trying to make a basic animation that loops indefinitely. My brother, who is a Flash genius (but uses CS3) has suggested I put a gotoAndPlay(1) action after the last frame. This doesn't work.

I am trying to make an animation of around 12 seconds which loops continuously, stop after 30 seconds and continue on mouse over.
I've been trying to do this using a timer, but get the feeling that this might be a seriously misled approach.

I have to stream a webcam video, so I use ustream to do that, which generate a flash embed code for me, and I have a button to turn off/on the light, but when I press the button it refresh the whole page and so the flash component.
There's some way to not refresh the page and still send to command ?

I've been working at this for hours and still no luck what I'm trying to create to have 8 buttons on one frame leading to different scene each. I had an issue with my index.html testing on IE and the preloader just stalls on "loading 0%". he told me that locally the progress event doesn't have time to load and to try uploading it to your server and see if it works. It worked just fine. Rah Rah Kglad.
So today I'm fine tuning the swf/ fla to clean it up. Reduced some picture sizes and deleted unused files and reduced the swf from 4000 KB to 350 KB Rah Rah Gene. replaced the swf in Dreamweaver and re-uploaded with Filezilla. Rah ah Filezilla.
Everything working great and my preload went from 23 seconds to less than 3. So I'm real happy except for one small issue. Firefox and IE both do this. If I hit the refresh button, it stalls on "loading 0%" once again just like it did locally.
If I hit the refresh several times it WILL refresh randomly....2 times refresh......10 times refresh etc.

Spoke to my hosting company who said everything seems fine on the server. BTW he said Chrome did NOT have this issue Rah Rah Chrome.

I am building your standard slideshow flash header for a web page.
There are three main parts:
The Slideshow class A controller class that is used as the projects Document Class Some linking timeline code.
The slideshow class has all the functionality, so I used the Document class to create a new instance of the slideshow and keep a property variable called slideshow that keeps a reference the Slideshow instance.

Despite me being able to call regular methods that are in the Doc Class from the timeline, I can not call properties without the following error, for example when i say slideshow.play():
1061: Call to a possibly undefined method play through a reference with static type com.example.test:Slideshow.

I am new to Flex and trying to modify some existing code.I am trying to It uses and Advanced DataGrid. In the click event, the ListEvent is passed in, and the code is able to access properties such as event.itemRenderer.data.feature.I would like to check whether the user has clicked on a parent (group) record or the child record; at runtime, I can see that the property I want to access is event.itemRenderer.listData.hasChildren. However, the listData property of itemRenderer does not show up in intellisense, and when I try to access that at design time, the project will not build because of the error "Access of possibly undefined property listData". But the property .data.feature doesn't show up in intellisense at design time either, and that builds and runs just fine.
What do I need to do to access event.itemRenderer.listData without throwing errors when I build the project? Do I need to capture a different event, or cast the event object or one of its properties into another object that will have the properties I need at runtime (I've investigated these options but cannot find info on how to do that).

I have a java class which has one field with getter and setter, and a second pair of getter and setter that access this field in another way:

On the Flash/Flex client side, I have a Class with two properties: id and internalId (the id properties are only for testing, at the end they should return the internalId value)
BlazeDS seams to transfer both values: id and internalId, because both have a complete getter setter pair. I want Blaze not to transfer id, only internalId should be transferred.

1) I can't figure out how to have URL links in the text that loads.
2) How can I make the scroller refresh to allow for new text in the dynamic text area. The content changes alright, but the scroller stays in the same position and if it wasn't needed initially, the scroller disappears and doesn't return on new text.

what i'd like to do is create a button, and loop sounds in the "up" state of that button. the only problem is, that if i import the sound to the "up" keyframe and choose loop in the properties it keeps looping until the end of time. what i'd like though is it looping just in the event of the mouse being in the buttons' area. what should i do?

I have two components (lets call them A and B) which have normal inspectable properties (e.g. NAME and AGE) which allow you to enter values via the component inspector. When I type the value for NAME in component B (via the component inspector) I communicate via a singleton class and store this value in a NON INSPECTABLE property located in component A.
When I run the movie, I want to access this non inspectable property within component A; however, it is always null - the value will not persist from design time to runtime. I check that the value is set at design time by tracing the A's non inspectable property once component B has set it - and it does indeed work, so I know component B has managed to set the correct value in A.Basically, what I need to know is, how do you persist properties of a component from design to runtime, without having to make properties inspectable and having to manually type property values via the component inspector?
