View 1 RepliesIf you test swf you'll see a main nav, and bars randomly tweening back and forth. There are 6 bars, and they are all fixed sizes so the only thing that is tweening randomly is the x position. What I need is to put a short duration on the bars tweening, 5-10 seconds, and have it act as sort of a transition so when you click to go to from one section to another, the tweening bars move around for the short duration and then when they stop a gotoandplay or set visible true action is triggered to load the content. But here is the tricky part...i need to have the bars return to their initial positioning.
What i'm looking into now, is taking the initiate random movement script from the random layer, and placing it within each of the onrelease functions in the navigation layer with some kind of if/else element, like if 10 seconds has passed return bars to initial position and show clip... or something like that... Or...couldn't i put the //initiate the movement part in a function and then activate it onRelease for a few seconds using getTimer somehow and then call another function after getTimer is up that would stop the bars and return them to their initial x positions.
ok im trying to create a clip of a dot that fades randomly between four pre defined colours whilst also randomly varying in the size range 0 - 100%. i am trying to create a smooth size tween also.this is my attempt:

im not exactly sure where to start right now im using a script for dhtml to rotate imaged randomly what i hope to accomplish is background , that will have some type of transition effect and randomly show my images
i have 32 images atm i would like to rotate through i found this and have tried to use it , but not exactly what i want , i need a transitional effect of somekind, and want it to rotate at a given amount of time , say maybe 12seconds[URL]...
I've been putting data into an array via XML, and then selecting at random an image string to load in a pic at random. But whilst doing this, I wanted to remove the String from the Array that I have just used, so I don't get repetition of the same image in the output. I initially thought that pop would remove the string I had just used - But of course it Removes the last value in the Array instead, which doesn't really help.
Ok - so how about randomizing the data once inside the Array, after it has been pulled in from XML!? That way I can load in the 'last' image, and then pop it out! Keeping a randomized selection of images each time 'it' is loaded
Is there by chance a way to "lip sync" an image in flash without animating every transition?
Like using a shapetween, I can go from "Doh" to "Ray" but is there there a way I can make the Doh face and the ray face, then have it fill in inbetween frames for me so I can then trasition to a me and a fa?
(FYI, I'm just doing Doh Ray Me Fa So Tee La right now, should give me an approx sync for what I want.)(Also, yes I know I'm crazy. But I've got a really great head made in illistrator I want to use.)

Im currently working on a project where I have a 92x92 pixel image that needs to tween into a 711x300 pixel image. The images are the same but cropped to these sizes via photoshop, imported into flash, then converted to graphic symbols. I want to have the 92x92 image tween into the 711x300 image.
I say tween, but the two tweens aren't working correctly, I can't seem to find a "crop" like function in flash that will let me adjust the large image for when its supposed to be small, then have it tween between the two sizes as i need them to.
I got 3 images in one transition, but the problem is only the first image's link workingThe 2nd and 3rd image's link is not working.

I am not new to flash. I am making an image transition animation. But when i move an image from one point to another point that in x or y position it gets shaky and image animation is not smooth at all. I am just trapped that what do? i have tried the image in different qualities and resolutions but dont know how to do it.
I am attaching the shaky.zip file. Im using motion tween to animate the image.

View 1 Repliesi am making a website where i need to fade full screen images. At the moment i am using TweenMax engine to change their alpha, but i think its slow on some computers ... Here is the website ( not finished ), you can see what i mean. I tried using colorTransform to change images alpha, but its even slower:

i no, this topic looks like the one i found here, but it is not tottally explanatiory, before the question its nice beiing a part od the community. My question is, in my background i created a movieclip background and inside of that i put the images that i liked to transition one and than comes the other, but this is a lot of time just making the tweenings, it makes no sence having this work, could someone give me a code out there that i could make this background movieclip getting the images from a folder imgbackground from xml? How to create a xml file to the code get this images?

Where the next image in the array that is to be front and center is offset to the left, ready to be in full view...when you click the next button, the current image fades out and the image that is waiting on the side shoots in...I know the xml part,

I'm using XML to load my images dynamically and would like the images to appear in a horizontal manner.
image1 - image2 - image3 - image4 etc.
however, everytime i run the swf, the order of the images are randomized

as my images are of different width, I made use of the imageWidth variable to keep track of where the X co-ordinate should be for the next image.

View 3 RepliesI've made a simple picture slideshow. With 10 frames and on each frame a movieclip. On every frame, I use the 'loadMovie' method to import a file..A set of buttons are used to surf through the frames..Okay, I wanted to know, is there any other possible way to add a fade-in fade-out transition while changing the pic from frame 1 to frame 2.. ?The way i know of doing it will be like this;Making a movieclip, MC1, and in there, another movieclip, imagehandler MC, where that image is brought using 'loadMovie' method. And fading in imagehandler MC from frame 0 to frame 10 using motion tweening like we normally do..And putting that MC1 (with MC2 fade in effect inside)to each of the 10 frames in the main slideshow timeline (making different MC1 like MCs for each image)..But this way its much more work and more cramping in the library..
View 8 RepliesI need to make a banner in which a image appears. After some time it explodes in many many words. Because i don't know how to make the transition from the chunks of image into words so that it would look ok, i reduced it to the image disappearing and the world under it just tween to locations around the stage. My question is what do you suggest to do best to spread the objects all over the stage, except from tweening manually every one of them, regardles it's a timeline or a code tween.

I'm a designer working in tandem with a PHP programmer on a project where we will display a random image via flash from a selection of images stored on a database. Accompanying this image is a tagline and a path for a button and these variables are sent via a php script. The actionscript then picks up these vars via loadVars and displays them on screen - well, almost.
The tagline is displaying in the dynamic text box with no problems, but I'm struggling with how to display the image in the empty MC I've created (called 'pic') and also to attach the path to the button I've created (called 'projectURL_btn'). I'm fairly sure it's something fairly simple but I just can't crack it.

i have a flex app that transitions between 2 states with the toggle of a button. my issue is that the effect of fading only seems to work on the 2nd transition and after. However, for my first transition... going from State1 to studyState... there is no fade effect whatsoever, in fact the components in state1 disappear completely (the footer fills the empty gap where the "body" use to be) and then the flex recreates the studyState (without any fade refilling the "body" with components only in studyState). After this first transition however, going between studyState and State1 working COMPLETELY fine.. why does this happen and how can i make it so that crossfade works STARTING FROM THE VERY FIRST TRANSITION?[code]

I am trying to transition slides with the behavior slide transition options. but I've learned that it works find while going into a slide and doesn't go to the next slide when leaving.So basically I want it so that on right arrow first play out transition then go to next slide.

However, if shockwave flash turned off in Firefox, it won't fallback into image and show bunch of characters instead looking like "CWS..." All other browsers fallback to the image. I verified that we serve application/x-shockwave-flash MIME type on our server.

I am trying to create a page transition that will play a movieCLip transition into a page. and then it stops then when another button is pressed, it will play that transition out while loading the appropriate one. In the attached FLA, if you click on the red button first, the blue transition plays,

and then stops on the stage. When you click the green button second,

it works correctly/ Playing out of the blue Transition and into the Red transition. However if I click it again it does the opposite, and just keep alternating.
If I add the

to the first button then, nothing works right. I will eventually have more buttons, and may need to use a variable to control which "out" transitions is played, but how do I get the buttons to do this?I just want it to exit the current movie clip and play the "in" section of the desired clip.
I want a movieclip consisting of a dynamic text box that, from the time it's loaded onto the stage, loads a randomly selected text string from an array, and continues to loop until the clip is removed from the stage. I also want the text strings to appear in the text box for random intervals between 500 and 3000 milliseconds.
While I've found tutorials here and elsewhere on loading one element from an array, usually triggered by a button, I don't know how to combine/alter it with the other elements.So I want this movieclip on the stage randomly flashing phrases from an array, some for a barely perceptible time, and others for a readable time.
