ActionScript 2.0 :: Stop Yoyo Or Reverse Tween?

I want the tween to end when the alpha and the _x tween go back to the beginning. here is my code

I cant stop the code without interuppting the reversal of the tween.

I have a tween in my .fla that isnt working properly. I have 2 buttons, Start and Yoyo. When I click the "Start" button the tween runs. Clicking the "Yoyo" button play the tween in reverse. All fine, but when I press the "Start" button again after I've ran the animation twice the animation always run in yoyo mode. What my problem. Code:

So I have this mc: this.slidingMenu it's a mc of a ring shaped menu, which turn around when 2 button get clicked. When the button on the right, mc goes forward until stop(), when the button on the left mc goes reverse until the stop(). In the first case i use gotoanplay, and everything goes fine. my reverse button causes the timeline to ignore the stop() function on its keyframe and play backwards all the way to the start. Since it keeps trying to play the previous frame, it's frozen at frame 1.

I'm using the native Tween class and have a several tweens which make a button, when clicked, fly up into the corner of the screen. Then some time later yoyo() that tween to bring the button back to where it started.

The problem is that we have a replay button that replays from certain points on the timeline.

I want that if on the "screen" (not flash screens just our term for the range of frames that correspond to the timeline between those certain replay points) the user clicks replay that the button will always play the tween backward, i.e., flyout from the upper corner back to the "start" point.

Since there is no reverse() method or playInReverse() the only choice seems to be yoyo(). And one would think that fforward() followed by a yoyo() would make it always play backward. But I can't make it seem to work.

I have an simple animation playing using the tween event, then I have an even listener to check when it's finished. On finish I want the tween to play in reverse. I used yoyo() which half does what I want but this loops, is there anything that will just reverse like yoyo but just stop at the beginning of the tween

so i'm now working on a mp3 player, and i got stucked with something. so here's my problem: i've a got bar (songBar) on which it will appear the artist and the song name(artist_txt). what i want is when de title_txt width is larger than the songBar.width, the text to scroll from right to left, and when the tween is finished to scroll from left to right(all this tween has to be a loop). if the width of artist_txt is smaller or equal to the songBar.width then artist_txt is aligned in the center of the songBar. all i'm trying to code it's just what you see in winamp player.

I have a Fade-in/ Fade-out movie that works with the 'alpha'. It begins on a Mouse_Over and works its way toward 0, but stops and reverses from where ever it is at on a Mouse_Out and works it's way back towards 100. I pretty sure someone here showed it to me -- and it has been the cats' meow. I'm wondering if Flash will let you do the same thing with a motion. I played around a little and replaced the 'alpha' call in the function with 'motion' and the code stayed blue (which I'm assuming means that it is acceptable). This would make a really great function, assuming that it is possible. I've enclosed the 'alpha' code so that you can see what I am referring to.

I'm making a "master movie" for an assignment and I'm stuck right now. What I've got is an Intro page that will serve at the Parent.swf to load 4 other child swf's upon a mouse click. The problem is I have a theater stage where I tweened an animation to make it appear the curtain on the stage is going up but once it reaches it maximum height....the tween abruptly stops. I want it to HOLD there until a user clicks a button.

I am currently working on a flash presentation and I have this code to play the slides:

What happens is that when I press the leftBtn or rightBtn it plays the whole presentation, ignoring the stops I put in the MC. My mc has slides every 5 frames with tweens between them.

How can I make this and have my MC stop in every slide instead of just reading all at once?

I've started using Motion Tweening in CS4 and I am puzzled by something with how the durations are set. The best way I can describe this is by comparing it to what are now called Classic Tweens. In a Classic Tween, I set the beginning and end keyframes of a particular animation, and when the playhead reaches the ending keyframe, the animation stops. In a CS4+ Motion Tween, I set the first keyframe and then make changes using the motion editor, but when I add frames to the timeline, the tween keeps on growing, and the animation doesn't stop correctly. Is there some trick to telling the Motion Tween that it should only be X amount of frames?

I have a lot of traces because I can't figure out what is going on. When you roll over the menu_hello, it stops the "up" perfectly, and on rollout resumes. but if it is going down, and you rollover, and the trace confirms the down, and the rolling over.... but IT DOESNT STOP.

I have 4 buttons that are part of the main tween (they are scrolling across the screen).When you hover over one they do a small animation.When you click it you get sent to a web page in a new window.Up to here everything is working fine.I'm trying / need to get the whole scrolling animation to stop when hovering over one of the buttons, i tried adding "onrollover" to each button with referance to the main movie - nothing.Tried adding a code in my action frame that applies to every button..

have a movie clip that I am moving with tweens. When the user clicks a button it creates a new tween and the movie clip moves. However, I have another button that sets the position of the same movie clip. The problem comes when this button is clicked if the tween is in progress. The tween continues and my content moves out of view. Is there a way to stop or delete the tween when the second button is clicked?Here is a simplified example of the relevant AS:

Is there a bug in the as3 tween class that causes tweens to stop before completing. I read that there is and that a 3rd party tween class should be used. I'm just starting out learning as3 and experimenting but this would be good to know when I move onto more complex projects. Also the solution for this was to make your function global. Does this simply mean place your function in the top level of your movie.

I use alpha tween when Im about to show a new content and then if they change content the first content will alpha down to 0 right away.

example:

lets say i have two tabs, "contact us" and "about us" and a person click the "about us" tab they will then trigger this [code]...

and if they then click on the "contact us" tab within 1 second they will alpha down the "about us" content but because the tween time isnt up it will come back again. So I need a way to remove the other tween.
