I'm having trouble accessing some components that reside inside of a movieclip that i'm displaying inside of a window component through the PopUpManager:
how can i access any components that exist within the linked movie clip in my library? i have two labels that I want to update but can't figure out for the life of me how...
Okay I have this problem and I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong. Here is an outline of what is happening:1. I have a movie clip that contains two components, a combo box and a check box.2. The combo box has the instance name "comboBox", and the check box has the instance name "checkBox".3. The movie clip is exported for actionscript with the identifier "test".4. I run the following code:
I have a component in AIR like so:[code]The 2 alerts both work. however nothing happens when you click the new window link.all 3 links works when in a real browser so I know its ok.Is there just no support for window.open in the AIR HTML component? or is this a bug?Is there a work around?
I made a script that creates a MovieClip (two stationary Ovals, side by side) from the library and transports them from the left side of the stage to the right.The idea would be to make the RIGHT Oval decrease in size as the MovieClip is traveling while keeping the LEFT Oval the same size. (All of them being part of an Array)I thought to convert the right Oval to a MovieClip within the parent MovieClip, but I have not been able to access the ".width" and ".height" of the nested MovieClip.Not sure whether I'm on the right track or not.
I've loaded a external swf, what i want to do is interact with the movieclips inside of that swf.For example there's a box in the external swf, ... I want to add a motion tween to it when I click on a button on the container swf, so that the box pop's in on the stage.
I need to disable some buttons in a movie in level0. I manage to do that. but the thing is i have some other buttons inside a movieclip and i can't disable them... what should i do? how can i acess the buttons inside the movieclip to disable them? the code i'm using for the buttons in level0 is:
on (release) { for (i=0; i<4; i++) { _level0["button"+i].enabled = false; }
and for acessing the buttons inside MyMovieClip...?
I have a MC that is too tall for my stage and want to place it inside a ScrollPane. The probelm is accessing functions inside the MC. I have tried scrollpane.content.mc.function but that doesn't work. How do you access a mc inside tghe scrollpane?
how to build a button inside a movieclip. I have a template that has movieclips within movieclips, and when I create a button (all using AS2) the button will work if I test the scene, but in the whole flash movie it does not work. I also have some buttons located inside a ScrollPane that also do not call correctly.
I'm trying to understand how to build a button inside a movieclip. I want to dynamically load the graphic of the button into an mc inside each frame of the button (up and over). Inside each frame I have a movie clip (canvas and canvas_over). The green box is the button object (header_btn):
This is my code: var hLoader:Loader = new Loader(); hLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, hLoaded); hLoader.load(new URLRequest("[URL]")); function hLoaded(event:Event):void { [Code] ..... It would be nice though if as3 allowed for buttons to contain objects.
I have a movieclip with 10 bitmaps in it. I wanna access each of them.
myMovieClip is the movieclip containing those 10 bitmaps. I wanna access those bitmaps one by one. All 10 bitmaps are imported separately. I tried this :
for ( var i =0 ; i< myMovieClip.numChildren ; i++) { trace ( myMovieClip.getChildAt(i) ); }
Problem is numChildren comes "1" only, as if it doesnot consider those 10 pieces of bitmap.
I'm running into an error accessing a movieclip from a loaded swf. Inside of my loadedMovie.swf file, I have a movie with the instance name of "bg". I want to change the width of that to movie clip when it is loaded into the parent movie but I'm getting an error saying "Access of possibly undefined property bg through a reference with static type flash.display:Loader."
Code: Select all/* ---------- LOADER ---------- */ var myLoader: Loader = new Loader(); myLoader.load(new URLRequest("loadedMovie.swf"));
I have a an image, lets call it "StageSkin.png".This is an image which is really just a border, and the middle of the image is "windowed", meaning that it is meant to show other information inside of it.The information inside of it is in the form of a component (based on a canvas component, lets call it 'Gauge').I want to create a component out of the 'StageSkin' image and the 'Gauge' component inside of it that would allow me to resize the component with the 'Gauge' component staying inside of StageSkin's window.I searched on this, and got the code below, but the embedded component just overlaps the entire image. What do I need to do?
I'm building this game, and it was working fine, until I used the menuBar component. It's not code related, 'cause i've commented out the script that does things with the menuBar. If I drag the MenuBar component from the component window, onto my Stage , the game refuses to work. If I deleet it (but keep it IN my library), it still doesn't work!. But if I turn the export settings of the MenuBar off, it works! The classes that i'm using for my game are called Node.as, JawBreaker.as The class I want to use to do something with the menuBar is called GameMenu.as (but that doesn't matter, since I commented the calling of that class out).
I had a question Yesterday, and posted in the Flash 8 Section of this forum...well, I have a question now...When I open a Window Component(with a movie clip inside it ...ofcourse) via Popup Manager from the Menu Component, the Window opens up, but I can't go back to the menu and open it. Any suggestions on how?Here is a part of my code (which I believe will summarize the rest of my code):
I have two components. One is called "InsideComp" and one is called "OutsideComp". OutsideComp has InsideComp as one piece of its component, and in my main MXML file, I have embedded an instance of OutsideComp. How do I access a public variable of InsideComp within my main MXML file?In Actionscript, I could just do something like:OutsideComp.InsideComp.valToChange = 5; But I dont know how to do it in MXML. I know this is probably an easy question.
I have a window component on my main timeline that gets called up on several instances. When the popup window appears, everything looks fine, except that the user can still click on links that are now behind the actual popup window itself. My question is how do I keep those buttons from being active while the popup window is active?
But I have a serious problem. Someone has to help me before I lose my mind. That's the project I've sent before. I've just returned from holiday and I'm stuck in focusing between mc's. My .fla file is included. I want my app to jump to the next movie clip after entering a letter to the current one. But there I have the problem : accessing mc inside mc. You'll see the details on the .fla file.[URL]..
I work with 3d animation. Im have a problem with a personal website Im doing, I have a link in a button inside a flash movie to open a new window and play a youtube movie:
on (release) { var jscommand:String = "window.open('http://www.youtube.com/v/b0L4XLODhAA&hl=en&fs=1&','win','height=344,width=4 25,toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes');"; getURL("javascript:" + jscommand + " void(0);"); }
This works fine in Firefox but in IE it doesnt work, I then change the /v/ in the youtube link with /p.swf?video_id= and now I have the window open showing the small youtube thumbnail of my video but once a click play, nothing happens, I check it and is not loading anything.
unable to figure out how you can access a List Component Skins using ActionScript. What I'm trying to do is access the CellRenderedSelectedUp skin and:
1. Change it's color using ActionScript
2. Make it change its' color when that list item is clicked
So, let's say that the first item in the List is clicked. I want ActionScript to override the default coloring of the Selected Up skin (say change the color to yellow) and stay that color(yellow) until another list item is clicked on.
I have been stuck on this problem for a while, and wonder if anyone knows the answer. It is concerning accessing some properties of a custom component. I marked the problem with the keyword [PROBLEM] in the following snippets of code.
I have a two components Test_Interface.mxml & teacher_fullscreen.mxml. I called teacher_fullscreen.mxml from Test_Interface.mxml by
[Code]...
Now I created an instance of Test_interface in my 2nd mxml by
Code: public var par:Test_Interface=new Test_Interface(); Actually, I wanted to disable a button in Test_interaface.mxml with id = "b1" from my 2nd mxml using the object created above. So I gave par.b1.enabled=false; It did not give any compile errors but during run time cannot access object or method of null reference sandbox error was returned for the statement par.b1.enabled=false. So how do I change the property of a button in one component from other.
