ActionScript 2.0 :: Adding Separate Image From XML

I am trying to add a separate image in the background of a carousel...when a carousel image is clicked on, it moves back and the new image appears with it - but nothing loads in the new image. I thought this would be how to do it, but it's not working...what am I doing wrong? here is what it looks like so far: [URL]
I am trying to change a version of the gotoandlearn carousel to add an additional image that appears along with the first image when it's clicked on. I can get the movie clip to appear/disappear properly, but I can't get the photo to pull from the XML file and appear in the movie clip. I've tried everything and what I think should work doesn't. Here is my XML file and action script code: ("the2nd" is the movie instance, "image2" is the photo in the XML file that needs to appear).

I am having is trying to add objects to stage. At the moment I can not put anything onto the stage unless it is in my Main document class (Main). How would I add to stage in my player class and bullet class?

I'm trying to make it so that when a user inputs the correct word an event happens. It almost works except that the event doesn't fire until the NEXT keystroke. Is there a way to test for the word AFTER the keystroke has become part of WriteInOneText.text, without adding a separate button or anything? Here's the code:
I'm now writing a simple socket application for my own learning purposes. It will be a really simple BlackJack application.I was thinking for ways to manage 52 different cards in my app. I could make those 52 cards, as 52 images and then, maybe load them into movieclips at runtime. Or, I could take one big image with all of the cards on it, and create a masked movieclip, and then, shift and slide the image's position, so that the correct graphic of the card shows.y question is: which way is faster? Will flash be better with handling 52 small images, lets say 20x40 (in reality, i will only load like 6 of them in the display list, since black jack almost never deals with huge amount of cards). Or would it be faster, if I had a big image with all the cards (~160x160 maybe) and just reused that with different masking, calculated on runtime?
i've been reading and searching all the related articles but still in the dard...i've 2 movies m1 and m2 - in m1 there are thumbnails and in m2 i need to open the zoomed view of appropriate thumbnail - both the movies are on same page but in different cells of a table.
I'm building a gallery on a website with lots of different size images. I've got all my buttons set out in one swf and placed on the page and I want to put a seperate swf on the page to display the images. The only problem is I can't work out the script to put on the button to open the image in the 2nd swf.

I am loading some separate .swf image galleries in my main .fla; when you go to different sections the image galleries still stay there. How do I make them go away? When you click on the background it takes you to another spot on the timeline and the gallery should disappear, but it just stays there.
I am trying to adapt the gotoandlearn carousel to fit a dog rescue's needs and learn something in the process. What they want is for a 2nd image to load when the first is clicked on. I am new to as3 and am having an issue transferring a Flash Video Gallery into a seperate flash file.Basically I want to add this video player file into a separate flash site I am making but don't know how with as3.I copy all the library assets from the video gallery FLA into the other movie, put the movieclips in the right location and upload all the relevant actionscript files, xml data linked with the original video player file but nothing still shows up when tested live.
I've seen this done on many sites (it even happens on here when attaching links), where the screen darkens and an image gallery or form loads.
My question is, can this be done through Flash, but more importantly how to load a swf file this way. I noticed that the new Nike Running site has done it for their login functionality, where it loads the login box on a darkend screen, not sure whether the actual login is Flash but it's opened from within Flash.

I am loading a scrolling image bar into a separate movie and it works great with the coding I have managed to piece together (since I am not an AS master) the problem I am having is that when the mouse moves out of the scrollbar area it is still controlling the motion from the rest of the movie it is imported into. I am pretty sure that it revolves around a _root.drag._y script command but since I am still learning scripting I am not sure of exactly how to code this....the scrollbar is 90pixels in height and I want the images to keep scrolling at +2 when the mouse leaves the designated area, just not to move with the mouse movement when moving around below the scrollbar.

What I need to do is assign 5 separate dynamic text fields to 5 seperate buttons and at the same time to those same five buttons i would like to add 5 images that i would be able to change merely by swapping out the images in the file theyre in on the server.I would also like to get a nice transition between the images...ALSO i want to dynamically load the images for the buttons that will be used for switching from picture to picture(which im thinking i will be able to do after i know the how to do point the aforementioned things.)
Through tutorials I've found around the net I've been able to get most of the parts together... but i get lost because what they show you for AS2 they don't for AS3 and vice versa, at least that ive seen.so... I guess my question is... would i need to set up 5 seperate dynamic text fields on the stage and then set each one of them to one of the corresponding button. If so what AS code would i need to use to do so. And if not what would i need to do?
The other part of the question would be I know about the UILoader... would i be able to use it as my buttons and images, if so would i need 5 seperate ui loaders for both the Thumbnail buttons and the images or is there a way that would be better to do it? and once i do that would i do the transitions using frames and tweens like with AS2?
I have created a small image gallery for use in a CBT Program.What I am looking to do is, each image in the slide when clicked needs to go to a separate html page.I currently have it working as far as being able to execute a single External Call to go to a HTML Page, but it is working for the entire gallery not individual pictures.I am thinking of separating the way the MC are loading into the container, then tying External Calls Specific to the individual clips.

If I create a new flash AS3 file and create two blank keyframes in my actions layer I can add actions to each keyframe separately no problem. I can then easily switch between the actions frames from the menu bar on the left of the actions input panel. However if I try and do this on any of my projects i've been working on for a while when I create a new blank keyframe in the actions layer and try to add actions to it, I get sent straight back to my first actions keyframe and not a nice blank page. Can I even apply seperate actions to seperate keyframes?
This is NOT the same as my last thread as i am after three and NOT ONE as last time. In the attached movie there are three seperate movies loading into three seperate tweens. Please note that i am happy with this movie as it is, and do not want to change anything about it except for the script itself. It refurs to three seperate clips "b.a","d.c" and "f.e". What i want is for the script to incorperate all three clips under one name of "mc" And instead of have three seperate widths, "width 1","width2" and "width3" i want the script to also incorperate all three widths and heights into just one name of "width" and one name of "height".

I am kind of new to flash and used a template to build a flash website. One of my pages has links on it that when you click them open a pop-up text box. I've looked at the actions of the link to try to figure out how to add an image but can't seem to figure it out. The actions of the link also reference a text file. Been trying to crack adding images to a pdf using AlivePDF 0.1.4.9 for a week or two now. Creating the pdf and adding text was straight forward and easy to do. How ever adding an image has managed to illude us. I have included our code below. We have also tried the addImage() method without success as well. Our code builds perfectly but produces a blank pdf that opens and says An error has occurred on this page
