ActionScript 2.0 :: XML Slideshow Photo Gallery SetInterval / ClearInterval

Dec 27, 2005

I'm using a version of XML Slideshow Photogallery that loads slideshow.swf (and other pages) into master.swf. It plays good the first time through and when I trace myInterval, I can see it increment 1,2,3 ... with each slide. When I go to another page and then come back to the slideshow - the myInterval will skip a couple or I get 2 values at the same time. This causes the slideshow to display every other image (or every 3, etc). I can see that the problem is from not clearing the myInterval variable properly. The clearInterval(myInterval); function seems to just clear the last instance created. Is there a way to clear all instances?

ActionScript 2.0 :: SetInterval With A Class - Function Doesn't Work Inside Class ?

Oct 7, 2004

I was wondering why my current code for calling a setInterval on a function doesn't work inside my class.I have this code inside one function, calling a second function.

intID = setInterval(selfReferential, dupe, 30, 0x000000);

The selfReferential keyword refers to the current class,but was defined previously (selfReferential = this; ).I get no errors, but the dupe() function is never called.and I had the selfReferential variable replaced with the this keyword at one point as well.

ActionScript 2.0 :: SetInterval Inside A Loop?

Jan 29, 2008

how to call a function via setInterval a limited number of times (e.g. 20 times).

Code:
function CallMe(Me){
trace(Me);
}
for(var i:Number = 0; i<=20;i++){
setInterval(CallMe(i),3000);
}

My intention for the above simple code would be to have 'i' get traced every 3 seconds. But it doesn't. 'i' just gets dopped out into the output pane all in one go. Do steady release!

Flex - Setting Focus On A List ItemRenderer With TextArea Inside?

Oct 29, 2010

I've wrote a custom itemrenderer for a List component (Flex 3.5) which is a VBox with a Label and a TextArea wrapped inside. All works fine so far but I want the TextArea in the first itemrenderer to receive focus so that it instantly becomes editable when tabbing onto the List. Is that possible and if how would I achieve this?

I've already added an event listener that selects the item at index 0 but the textArea in it should also be focussed at that moment _list.addEventListener(FocusEvent.FOCUS_IN, onListFocusIn);

private function onListFocusIn(e:FocusEvent):void
{
_list.selectedIndex = 0;
}
