I am using the fla's that were posted on [URL] regarding the image gallery where the box scales and resizes depending on what it loads(using XML) within it. The boxe's top left stays static which is the goal and the rest resizes according to what loads. Now inside the actionscript it has spacing of 10 which puts space around the bottom and right sides of the image that is loaded but does not put spacing on the left and top. I m trying to get the space so it is on the top and left also, basically so the image loaded is centered within the border. To clarify more simply I just want a even border around the images that it loads. Here is a link to the files being used: [URL] Also for some reason when I tried testing to download the .fla myself from the above link it loaded a page with a whole lot of characters.

As shown in the example... I have entered an action to load a movie when I press a button.It works fine but the original swf was made at 800 by 600 when I need it to be 400 by 200.Is there a way to have the video loaded smaller using some kind of width and height line to the command above?I don't want to have to go redue the swf I am loading in...In the swf, I am working on this for class, so It is not finished or have any real sense to it, other than what is required by the teacher

ok here is my problem (i will explain it to the best of my abilites)i have 3 buttons which each load 1 seperate SWF into an empty movie clipg. servicesbutton loads services.swf into contentsMCthat is fine that is working fine my problem occurs when the loaded movie button is clicked on again... it resets the loaded SWF back to frame 1... how can i make the loadmove command abit more cleverer? like dont load the movie if its already loaded?

I've got an SWF that'll be viewed via a webpage, that loads a choice of 7 different web pages/SWFs depending on buttons clicked.The problem is these files are quite big and take a good few seconds to load each, so for each SWF, I created a progress bar on frame 1, that then loads frame 2 (where all the code and content is) once it's ready. The code I used is as follows:[code]The problem is as you can see from is that it takes ages to load the loader! So I end up with a blankurl... screen then the loading bar, then the content. Making the loading screen pretty useless!

My site has a picture gallery. It works with a movieholder and the loadMovie command. It has 9 buttons, one for each picture, and they work. There's also a previous and next button to navigate through the pictures, there the loadMovie command gives problems.
Here are 2 lines that are used in the previous button:

I get the following error with that button:
Error opening URL "file:///C|/school/multimedia/VOLLEDIG%20NIEUWE%20SITE/images/NaN.swf"
I know nothing about a Nan.swf. I don't understand why these lines don't work in the previous button, because the 1 button (the button that loads image 1) also uses the first line, and that works. I know only very basic actionscript, but the code of the previous and next buttons are supposed to be correct except for those lines with loadMovie. In publish settings is actionscript 2.0 set.

im working on a maths style jigsaw, and ive come across a problem of sorts, ive set random1_txt.text to 1 and random1_txt.text to 2 for testing, basically i want to randomise two textfields between 1 and 10, and also randomise the sign between either a - or a +
the answer can be computed by flash, now what i need it to do is stop on the frame number of the answer in answer_mc, these frames contain graphics of all numbers 1-20 in alpha format, this is so that the answer is in place, now the user can drag and drop movieclips into the answer box, and receive a correct or incorrect response
im at a loss on how to do this, i havent gotten around to randomising the sign as of yet i need to do more research but the general idea is as above

i am trying to write an image gallery using the loadMovie comand, loading jpegs into a blank movie clip the thing is, all the tutorials seem based around issuing the loadMovie command as you press a button to actually view that particular picture what I am trying to achieve is to have maybe the 1st and 2nd image of the gallery included in the flash movie and these load up and show instantly but whilst the viewer is looking at these the swf is busy preloading all the other images in the background. The idea being that images are loaded faster than the navigation that takes place so when the user clicks on the 3rd image it is already loaded and displays instantly and so on and so forth question is, how do i achieve this ? Do i still use loadMovie but have one script at the 1st frame that loads say all 20 images each into a different empty movie clip ?

I have the following which works fine just out side of the loop statement:
loadMovie("icons/test.jpg", "pIcon0.Icon");
But inside the loop statement no image shows up.
I need it in the loop statement because eventually the code will call the jpgs out of an array based on the loop variable. And put them in a movieclip number by the variable also.

I have created an interface that uses a lot of the loadMovie command using levels. Once I have loaded a movie on say level 3...in that level 3 movieclip I will have another navigation that will load and then use the loadMovie command to load movie on level 3 as well. It loads it correctly but the back button that would contain the unloadMovie(3) command isn't unloading, say if the user wants to go back.

I have a photographer's portfolio site in the works. I'm using loadMovie connected to thumbail buttons of each photo to show a larger version of the photo. Here is the script[code]...
Now the photographer would also like to have a next/previous arrow buttons so the user can click through like a slide show. Is there a way to have Flash know what movie is currently loaded and based on that information go to the next or previous?

I have a HTML stageholder, this calls a "mainMenu.swf" which essentially controls my site. This "mainMenu.swf" has three buttons: intro, portfolio and contact which are all individual movies. So far, all good... When I have clicked into the portfolio section a 3x3 grid loads with nine buttons, one of these buttons loads a preview page for four movies, when I load one of these movies it plays fine. What is the path to get the loadMovie command to jump back to the 3x3 grid page from this movie? Basically, what is the command to jump up a directory when using loadMovie?

I want to load a movie loadMovie ("target", _root....) and so on. My question is can you target a specific scene in the load movie command?? I have a movie with a button that loads a new movie into level 0 so it replaces the first movie. Now in the new movie I have a button that unloads the new movie and loads the previous one. But it starts it off at the veru beginning of the movie. I want it to pick up where the first button click took place.

I tried this code but doesnt work properly, anyone has a solution? i need to load different swfs in the same MC depending on the frame, i have placed the simple loadmovie code in each frame with the different swfs and it works but i would prefer to keep the code in 1 frame. This would be even better if using labels instead of frames.

I know. This topic has been addressed several times in various posts. And I've read and tried all of them, however nothing seems to work. I'm not sure if due to the circumstances...I'll explain.
I have made 2 files: main.swf and products.swf. A button in main.swf has the following code:

_root.loadMovie("products.swf");
}
This works great, but what I really want to do is go to frame label "Range" in products.swf. A note of explanation: I'm not trying to load products.swf into a container movieclip, I want to replace main.swf with products.swf and go to Range label.

I have a .swf menu with 20 or so links. Each link opens up a new html page that in turn embeds the same swf menu. All I want is to simply have the html tell the swf to gotoAndStop a specific frame label that really just 'highlights' that particular button, so the user knows where they are. that's it... used to be able to do this with fsCommand, or so i thought.

so i have an empty movie clip on the stage that loads an external jpeg. on my computer, i have the jpegs in the same folder as the swf/fla file. i had it load:

_root.emptypic.loadMovie("attention_MED.jpg");
_root.emptytext_mc.gotoAndPlay("attention");
}
i uploaded it with the swf in the same directory as the rest of the jpegs, but they didn't load. then i changed the "attention_MED.jpg" to http://site.com/attention_MED.jpg and it still wouldn't load.
and yes, i made sure the jpegs aren't progressive. the weird thing is, they load fine when i'm testing the swf on my computer. they just don't work after i've uploaded them? i don't know what to do!

Basically this script works just fine and loads the appropriate movie. The transistion exit frame also works correctly. What I am trying to do is load the movie site_services.swf and jump to frame label "database" after the preloader. I was attempting to use _root.contents.FLabel = "database"; to set the variable.

After i look in kirupa foruns(and others) i found lots of information about how to load a movie into a container, making that the movie starts in a specific frame label.
I have 2 movies, the fist one "main.swf" contains the "container", the 2nd "teste.swf" contain the frames labeled like "F1", "F2" "F3" "F4" and "F5".

Everything is embedded in an HTML site. The HTML loads a preloader that then loads the actual flash movie. Inside this movie I created a few buttons, inside a scroll bar movie clip. I want the buttons to load a whole new movie inside the same html. The code I'm using in the button is simply:
on(release) {
loadMovie("new_movie.swf", 0);
}
The problem is that it works beautifully in the Flash movie tester but doesn't do anything when tested inside the browser, embedded in the HTML. I think the problem is that the HTML embeds as an object the first movie, the preloader for the menu movie, not the menu movie itself.

and I have this swf file with cms that I'd like for this menu to load. Currently the swf file load external text using this code:

but when the xml menu loads this swf file its structure loads but not its data.I tried using :

Is it possible to change a frame label within a gotoAndStop('label') with the parameters in a function?I'm playing around with updating code as I learn more and more techniques, and at the moment the code is a basic click-a-button to select the object shape, and on press the button disappears:
