I came up with the following thumbnail generator code and I tried to attach a ovieClipLoader to each one but it sems to only work for the last generatedthumnail...I'm kindda' new to this This is the part of the code that generates the thumbnails:

I'm using the MovieClipLoader () class to load 1 swf and 1 jpg, what I want is that once BOTH are loaded a certain command get executed.

Right now the command get executed twice, since it does it once the swf is loaded, and once the jpg is loaded:

I'm using the MovieClipLoader class to create a function that builds a preloader for external stuff. I need it to be global so I can call on it wherever in the movie, and I need it to be self contained so the MovieClipLoaders don't cross each other if multiple are running. The below code worked until I made it "_global" and placed everything into the one function.

I have a small problem using MovieClipLoader to load multiple images at the same time. This is the function for loading:

ActionScript Code:

This function is triggered in a for cycle for 4-9 images.The problem is - some of the images don't get fully loaded. It is usually 1 or 2 at most. Some of them don't show at all and some load partially (let's say I see 60% of the image and underneath a gray line). Is there some restriction for multiple connections in Flash? Are the requests made too fast?This problem does not occur in Flash environment, it occurs only online. The listeners execute alright even for the not loaded images. No load error at all.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading Multiple Jpgs Dynamically With LoadMovie And MovieClipLoader

I'm loading multiple instances of the same jpg dynamically to my swf. It works just fine locally, but when I upload it, it only executes the first loading code it encounters in the timeline. I was doing things fairly complexly with 'for' loops and dynamic name generation and stuff, but I've stripped it down to the basics in an effort to get this to work.

Here's some code:

loadMovie('1.jpg', mc1.empty_mc);
loadMovie('1.jpg', mc2.empty_mc);
mcLoader.loadClip('1.jpg', mc3.empty_mc);
mcLoader.loadClip('1.jpg', mc4.empty_mc);
mcLoader.loadClip('1.jpg', mc5.empty_mc);

as you can see, I'm using two different methods of loading the jpgs, just in an effort to pin down exactly what is going on. Locally, they all load fine. When I upload to the server, only the first instance of the loading code is run (so mc1 will get its jpg, but the rest won't). I've tried to swap the order, place the loading code in different areas, try to load different jpgs into each empty mc, but nothing works except that first instance flash gets to in the timeline.

The swf and jpgs are all in the same folder, both locally and on the server. The server the swf is hosted on is Windows 2003 box if that matters. I tried uploading it to a different windows box and got the same problem.

I have a button that I want to work on multiple frames. Currently, I have a scene that automatically starts to play when the playhead enters the first frame (no stop command). I have an event listener in the first frame that listens for a click. After the click the user is supposed to go to another scene.

The problem is that the button is not working. I am assuming that the code in the first frame only applies to the first frame and I need to add additional code that applies as the playhead is playing across the multiple frames.

I want to tween multiple mc with ONE line of code like this one (know its not right but youll get the idea):

I tried this when my mcs are on the stage using instance names:

new ensemble:Array = new Array (one_mc, two_mc, three_mc);
then

I then tried this using linkage (LK) name:

new ensemble:Array = new Array (oneLK, twoLK, threeLK);
then

None of those worked.

im trying to use a use a code segment that makes something avoid the mouse. My issue is the code requires that iff i have more than one object that i want to avoid the mouse than i need to make a new set of variables for the second object and pretty much copy the code than change the variable names. Thats all great and dandy but i have a couple hundred very small objects that i need to avoid the mouse. is there any way to maybe apply the code to each object with an onclipload maybe?

So I have a simple game going now with a character running forward and I have to jump and duck under barriers. I was able to make it all work so that one of my three random barriers I made comes at a random time at you. However, I don't know how to make it so that multiple barriers come at you. I feel I need some sort of loop. How should I alter the code I have already? im new to flash actionscript and i am trying to create a very simple game. in this game i have about 50 walls that i want to stop the player if they collide with it. i cant figure out how to assign the same code to multiple instants and im still fuzzy on alot of the terms flash programmers use but im learning.on an unrelated note i am also having the player push the ball and when i add a collision.block to the ball when it hits the wall it goes right through it because of the ball repositioning itself based on the players location.

So I have been trying to figure out a way to control multiple clips using the same "on press" & "on release" statements located on 1st frame of main timeline. A variable is being set to a value that correlates to the name of each movie clip as an interaction occurs.Ex: user clicks from a selection of buttons & depending on the button clicked it sets clipNum = "1" through "21".What I want is to have something like the following code that will give the user the ability to click and drag the clip with code on the main timeline similar to the following:
