ActionScript 2.0 :: Scrollable Menu Where Multiple Image Of Png Will Load Into
Apr 4, 2007
a) scrollable menu where my multiple image of png will load into
b) multiple (could also be one image) of png images that will gradually appear into the same folder where my .fla file is.
c) a layer of frame (more of a window, it's scrollable upwards & downwards) - the place for my original sized png image to appear
d) dropdown menu - that will contain form1, form2, form3 [form1, form2, form 3 will represent which part of the png image willl be shown in (b): form1 = top, form2 = middle, form3 = bottom]
1) a png image (possible that the png image will come in multiple) will load into my flash movie automatically, specifically all of them will load on a scrollable menu one after another, side by side with the png image size reduced to fit into the menu.
2) once i click one of the png image on the menu, the image will appear beneath its [like what i've explained in (c)]. this image is scrollable only upwards & downwards within the windowframe, and it should be the original size (not the reduced one to be fit into the menu)
3)below, there's a dropdown menu [i've explained in (d)] that will be chosen from, let's say form1 is chosen. the window where the scrollable png image is, will show the part where i set form1 is for.
I have read the tutorial called "loading text from external sources"(with 3 buttons loading 3 different texts) . I tried it but when I click right on the button, it says "cannot place actionscript directly on an object" Must the different buttons be on different layers?(In my project, they are on the last page of my site)
I'm creating a moodboard application where the user can dynamically load an image onto the stage by pressing a thumb of the image in a menu item. I have most of that working but what I would like to know is that, if there is a way the user can interactively scale/transform the image when it is on the stage in the swf file?
I am trying to build a flash where I have a shoe and a bunch of stickers (images set to be symbols) which can be dragged and dropped onto the shoe as decorations. I have figured out how to drag drop and rotate the images onto the shoe. The problem I face now is how to make a scrollable list of the images that can be placed onto the shoe. I have approx 140 sticker images. I was wondering two things....
1. Not so much is it possible, because virtually anything is possible. Is there a relatively easy way to have something like a scrollable thumbnail gallery of x amount of objects from which the object can be dragged from and onto another area of the flash. This leads me to my next question...
2. How can I keep the original image within the gallery?
I was thinking something like a scrolling image gallery of thumbnails so that you could move back and forth through the list looking for the image you want. And then I was wondering to myself is there some sort of command to copy the selected image (symbol) when it is clicked and dragged?
I've been scouring forums and such and really haven't found anything that I think I can use, but then this flash mx is new to me, so I'm not the best at it.
i am trying to build a scrollable menu in flash using xml.i want it to display multiple options, once an option is chosen i want it to display another menu in its place with different options.
I've looked at a lot of the posts on this site and still can't seem to create a really simple scrollable dynamic menu from XML. Would anyone be able to tell me how to create something like this,(Click on November to see what I mean).I'm going nuts! I just want to get something simple working, then I can start to focus on the design
I have built simple scrollable list menu for my mobile app - this is just a simple table with 1 column and there is a small jpg and description text in every row. This is built using the ScrollPane component (with scrollDrag enabled) - and within scrollPane every table row is simply a button object. This all scrolls and works just fine.
When you scroll the list - and when you let go your finger to scroll further it thinks that you've clicked and it opens the link. I am using onClick event at the moment (but also tried TapHandler) and they all do the same thing, they work but you can accidentally open unwanted menu item. How to separate swipe from just tap event in the code, so user doesn't accidentally opens the link?
Ok, so I got this huge image of a map. I put a Mask over it so it will fit on a small screen. But....I want users to be able to view the whole map but click on arrow buttons that will transfer them in all 4 directions. I know I can do this with keyframes, showing different parts of them map each stage....But isn't there a simplier way? Some sort of actionscript code that will tell flash to scroll how many pixels left or right or up or down? And that it will know that the image will stop here so don't scroll more than that?
I'm trying to show image files (jpg, png, gif) that can be larger than the available display area. I've embedded an Image inside a cCanvas (to get scrolling), but the large images are not completely displayed.
Very large images (e.g. 2480 x 3507) have the top or the top and bottom of the image clipped withing the scrolling Image.
What is the largest graphic one can display using the mx.controls.Image ?
I am trying to create a flash service tutorial to appear on a website that will be able to play and load 6 steps of a process separately when prompted with a button click. I do not want to link back and forth between web pages to do so, but rather have the files loaded on demand and played within one flash movie "viewer" to keep things clean.
Each movie is going to be somewhat image heavy. load each of the 6 step movies within one main movie file?
I have a image of a person that I would like to load a certain number of times in a row to show a total of how many people took part in this particular event. In total I need 166 replications of this image, is there any actionscript I can use to do this without having to create a key frame for every separate image?
Is there a way I could use an externally loaded image in multiple movieclips? I load the image using the Loader class but how can I copy it over to some other clips?

I am trying to create an interactive 3D canvas, e.g. it loads up the person image and loads it into several - pre warped- movieclips... trouble is when I run this:
ActionScript Code: function imageLoaded2(e:Event):void { canvas_wrap_mc.canvasF_mc.addChild(imageLoader2);
[Code]....
It only executes the last one instead of them all, when I remove the last one (canvas_white_mc)... it goes to the next last one canvas_black_mc...
I'm obviously doing something wrong, and everything about addChild and loading external images for me is a bit loose weave!
I have the code to copy parts of a huge loaded BitmapData to a target BitmapData that is just the size that I can display. I think I have set the scroll bars of an enclosing Canvas to show the size of the larger image and allow the user to scroll. Now I need to put the selected pixels on the screen. When I try to add a Bitmap component as a child of the Canvas, it get an error because Bitmap is not a UIComponent. What's the best way to put the target BitmapData into an Image component?
i created an application and it has a menu bar at the top of the stage it also has a loader component below it. i need the loader to load an swf when an item is selected from the menu. Does anybody know how to code this. I am using the following code:
I'm looking to do a sliding image menu like this one: [URL]. I can do this using tweening but it is not as smooth as using actionscript. Does anyone know what the name of this is as when I do a search as I can't find any solutions? I've tried 'thumbnail expand' and 'image easing' but am not getting any hits.
I have 24 movie clips on the stage: my_menu.image_holder_mc1 thru my_menu.image_holder_mc24. I want to load an image in each one. How do I identify the holder which to add a child.
The Code I have so far is....
Code: for (var i:Number=1; i<=24;i++){ var myLoader:Loader = new Loader(); myLoader.name = "image_"+i;
I am building a basic database website for my local community and everything is going fine until i try to add more script to control buttons on pages from the menu. The menu has 7 buttons which work, then on each of those pages is 6 more buttons. The first page works fine but when i add the code to the next page to control its buttons i get access of undefined prop. error and keeps playing through whole timeline. This is the code im using to control the buttons on pages from the menu.
I'm trying to make a navigation of sorts using a bunch of thumbnails there will be 3 columns and 3 rows.I have made an array of images, created a button with an empty movie clip in it. And I am attempting to make a 3 by 3 grid of buttons based off the array... Here is my code.
I am trying to load a colour image and then it is changed to black and white image. Here I am using a mask. But it is not getting worked. The code that i am using for this purpose is attached following: import
I developing a site where on the homepage, there are about 6 images that rotate, but if you click on a sub link, a different image loads. But the problem is that, the first image has to cycle through before the second image loads. I want the second image to load immediately.
I have an application that I'm migrating from flex 3 to flex 4.5. In this application, there is some mx Image components that load a simple swf file (image). Spark image doesn't load swf files, so I was wondering, should I keep the mx Image, or should I change it to SWFLoader? Is there any advantages to using one or the other?
This shouldn't be too difficult, but what I have is a button, which in the 'over' state I want to load an external image, and then have the image disappear when the users mouse hovers off the button
I've seen all kinds of accordion menu examples that allow for one pane open at a time, but I really need one that can have more than one open at a time.
I am creating an interactive website so it can be viewed where there is no internet. Each section of the website is split in to different movie clips with the navigation itself being a movie clip on a different layer.Currently I am able to jump to the beginning of frame 1 of a MC then able to navigate to frame 2 but unable to go back to frame 1 through the nav.My biggest problem is jumping to frame 2 of a MC.
I want to have an swf load an image file in an image container within the swf from the querystring. 1. In the query string I'd like the extension of the image file to not show:
2. In the swf I might have more then one place where the same howdy.jpg loads, but in different sizes. Which method would keep the aspect ratio of original and resize to fit varying container sizes?
3. I have some javascript parsing code with an swf example that I got from this page. [URL] But when I tried to alter the fla for my use it didn't work. I wasn't able to find 1 line of actionscript in the query.fla.
