I want to rotate a 2d object on its' y-axis but it won't make a complete circle. It just turns 90and then turns back the same 90 in the opposite direction. How can I make my 2d object make a full circle?

View 2 RepliesI am trying create a rotating circle with buttons/menus around the edges and this would simply rotate around, not like a 3D carousel, just basic rotation of a circle triggered by movement of the mouse on a vertical axis!I have attached a jpg example to give you an idea of what I am trying to create.Would anyone be able to direct me to some tutorial something similar as I can't seem to find anything.

I have a movieclip and when I do 3D rotation from Transform panel, It rotates perfect, center is in the middle of image, and when I apply mc.rotationY, rotation center is in left of the image, aren't 3D rotation from Transform panel and mc.rotationY from AS same? what's up?
View 2 RepliesI have a circle: Width 530 and height 800. I want an object to follow this circle using a motion path, but you cant do that in pure actionscript, so I tried rotating the circle with the object attached, but warping the circle at the same time... so width becomes 530 and height becomes 800... but because the circle has rotated at the same time, it looks like it hasn't moved - except for the object attached.

This was the closest... but it still dances around the page before anything happens.... and it isn't reading the sizes properly? 530 isn't 530, but something bigger, and 800 is actually smaller?

This is my semi-finished art project URL...If you open it normally (providing you have a webcam) it works perfectly however I'm looking to showcase the piece on a projector and need to have it full screen.[code]I have made the piece so that the "orbs" rotate around the center point and the diamter of the rotation alters dependant on the activity level of the webcam. It looks very pretty when you open the swf. normally but when full screened the centres of rotation are completely off.Whats the best way around this? I'm in desperate need of full screen capability! [code]ps forgot to mention. all code is inside a blank movieclip called "orb" and then a copy of the movieclip is placed in every corner but flipped/rotated to achieve the butterfly/symmetry effect. this is the issue i belive that effects the full screen stuff.

I have a magnifying glass image on my stage fixed on the right hand side, with the glass area of the magnifying glass cut out as a movie clip called glass_mc.
Now i also have a map to the left of that image. What im trying to do, is when you roll over the map, a zoomed version of that map will appear in the glass zoomed in or out depending on what zoom level i make it.
I have got it working using a rectangle but how would i go about placing the bitmap into the circle so the zoomed bitmap is displayed is as a circle shape.[code]...

I am trying to implement a 3D rotation using image sequence for a project, basically like this [URL]..I found a couple of flash components for this which uses xml to load the sequence of images, but I am not able to add those hot spots which move along with the object.

This should be easy, but I can't find a good way to make an Engine and a couple of Illustrated cars circle around the inside of a snow globe. I'm using Flash CS4 but am not familiar enough with the bones tool or 3d to get it to look rightpoint me in the right direction. This is kind of important. I'm not a beginner, and this is harder than it first seems to be.So this is what I need: to make a tween between a partial small circle to a big circle. What I mean is I want to use the Oval Primitive tool and on frame 1 I'll have a circle (radius 100px) with Start Angle: 0 and End Angle: 230 and on frame 50 I'll need the same 100px circle with Start Angle: 0 and End Angle: 300.

I would like an image (width 200px, height 600px) to appear on the timeline by being revealed by different sized circles (varying from 30px-5px). I am thinking of using an image mask and creating seperate circles across the timeline, so that when the movie plays, each random sized circle, one after one, will reveal the image at the end. So this is probably going to be quite time consuming. Also, does anyone know of any flash image effects helpers in general, I'm looking for something similar like green socks except for image effects...
