ActionScript 3.0 :: Creating Menu Populated With Data From Live XML Feed

I am building a menu that is to run on a mobile device.. the menu is populated with data from a live xml feed. and then suppose to be both dragable and "throwable" - meaning if you swipe up or down fast is scrolls with a little velocity physics slowing down over time. I wanted this menu to use as little processor power as possible so I am using scrollRect along with all my menu items being set to
cachAsBitmap= true;
Its working for the most part except once it stops scrolling and the user mouse downs on it again to start dragging, it tends to jump up or down like 20-100 pixels.

i am wondering if it is possible, and if someone would be so kind to help me code a scene where two thumbnails, side by side, are flipped up and down, and back up, each time revealing a new random image culled from a feed such as a flickr feed (or any others available, is there a random google image search feed that i dont know about?).if this is possible, i would need assistance in coding the script so that the flash movie is dynamic and pulls image data in real time from the feed, displays it within the two thumbnail cells, and for added headache pain, i would hope to also learn how to code a random image to be selected based on a visitors date/time stamp.i am a graphic designer with rudimentary knowledge of action script 2.0 (yikes!) so please, go slowly / explain yourself. i have searched the forum, but i cannot find any previous threads that combine the random image generator idea with a live feed (unless if i missed it, please point it out to me if you can find such threads).

I'm trying to use the NetConnection class to connect to a live video feed on an external server. I have it set up to start playing my video when the user clicks a Play button, however, this appears in my output every time I click the Play button:
ArgumentError: Error #2126: NetConnection object must be connected. at flash.net::NetStream/ctor() at flash.net::NetStream() at Over/connectLiveStream()[Over::frame2:31]

I tried making a multidimensional Vector that was populated by other Vectors that are populated by Strings.

This is giving me a Type Coercion error, even though the Vectors all have the correct object types in them. Is the error because I'm putting a Vector full of Strings into another Vector?Also, I'm working with large amounts of data, so using Arrays aren't an option because I need all the performance I can get.
I have installed flash media server, flash cs5, media live encoder to be able to view my webcam feed via my website. Now in addition to these, i started streaming to localhost, and installed a dns updater which updates a name server according to my current ip. Then i wrote this dns address in the feed's source from flash 5 as rtmp://thednsname.somedns.net/live/livestream
so far so good, i also forwarded the ports 1935 incoming and outgoing from modem to my computer as well (because 1935 is said to be the default port number for media server). firewall -> closed (just in case); and my internet provider doesn't block ports...started the media server (with admin privilage in 7), started the live encoder, connect to localhost, start live feed.
NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound : Adobe Flash tried to play a live or recorded stream that does not exist. Source can't be found.
Is there a tool, any type of programming library, or a way to capture live feed of Flash video and save it? I don't want to capture the screen but rather like to capture the actual feed.
I have been working on a Flex application that sends a feed from my webcam to the Flash Media server. The application connects to the server fine but for some reason the camera is not sending anything to the Media Server. I am pretty sure that the answer to my question is really simple but I need another set of eyes to llok at my code and tell me what I am doing wrong.
I have a question about loading new xml data into a already xml populated image gallery. So I have my gallery set up so it calls some xml when it first loads. What I would now like to do is load different sets of images via a different xml sheet via the click of a button.
So for example the loaded gallery already has all thumbs loaded and user can click on them to view the full size image. So next instead of the user having to close this gallery to allow a new gallery to open with a different set of pictures I would just like to have a button. This button will unload the existing thumbs from the gallery and load in new ones from a different xml file.
If anybody can help me with this it would be great as I am still on a steep learning curve with AS3.
we are implementing an AIR application in Flex.We populate dynamically a canvas and present it. The problem is that the data are build not before the the change of canvas. Is there a way to buffer the output and present it after the data has been populated?

I would like to populate a combobox from XML file in Flash. Then, when a list item of combobox is pressed then thumbnail image of that particular category is being loaded in a movieclip from XML file.
I spent a hard time to achieve this, but there is no success.

It works fine and loads the XML inside the flash authoring environment (ie when i preview with crtl+enter), or when I make an executable projector, but when I try to run the SWF by double-clicking, or when the SWF is on the webserver, the text box doesn't display the data...

I am looking at creating a menu with three movieclip buttons on a main menu. I want to keep these buttons on the top of the screen at all times. I am opening different swf's and I want to make sure that the buttons are still showing. I know there is something with changing or swapping the depth of the movie clip when it loads the new swf's in, but I have not found anything that is seeming to work.
I need to create a website that has only one question on it, and then displays the poll results automatically after a user makes a selection, showing the overall results updated in real timepoint me in the right direction on where to get started with this.I imagine I will need some php and possibly mysql to make this guy go.
I've made a few sites a few years ago with flash CS3/AS2 and using the TextArea as an output for xml content. that really sucked and looked terrible as it flashed white everytime it was loading (especially on slow connections). so I don't want to go that route again.sir!ok, so I have a banner that has 3 text elements per page (with various graphics per page behind the text) ...all text needs to be live as it is fed by 3 different languages. (referably the image link too)1. consistant big title across 8 pages2. sub-title that changes per page3. paragraph of text per sub-title4. the background imageEach of the 8 "slides" lasts about 6 seconds each (this part im fine with and sorted in AS2...but not AS3). On the top left are 8 numbered buttons that a user can click on to view whichever "slide" they may have missed or whatever. (using dynamic text fields, but so its nicely formated).

I have created a widget for flash that retrieves the xml rss feed and displays whatever information is in...the title, description, image, etc...Im having a problem to retrieve some very specific information from this XML feed... take a look at how the xml is configured:
I am trying to parse a RSS feed and load the data into separate labels.
For example i want to pick up all the title values within each item of the RSS feed and place that in a designated label.
I am parsing the feed correctly but i am having trouble trying to load the data into the label's, i've tried using the below but the same Title value is entered for 9 out of the 10 labels[code]...
I am trying to read data from [URL] location in my flash file which is residing on a server. But I am not able to get any data. No issues in coding - checked with a local copy. Command used is objMain.CCRSSXML.load("[URL]");
I have followed the tutorial on creating a live page counter in flash and somehow run into a problem to which i don't seem to be finding the solution. Perhaps someone here might be able to offer his/her generous help in solving this issue. Problem: The page counter works just fine the first time i load the page. After doing a refresh using the Ctrl & F5 key or just by clicking on the refresh button in my browser the count keeps going up (which as far as i understood from the tutorial is not supposed to happen).
When i do the same kind of refresh on the tutorial page the count stays unchanged though! I also downloaded the finished fla file but for some reason or other flash MX doesn't let me open it, giving me the error: "unexpected file format". Here is my code of the php file that i wrote for the counter.
