ActionScript 3.0 :: Mousedown Button Pause Before Redirect?
Aug 22, 2010
Currently I have a button which is in the form of a face. On MOUSE_DOWN the face smiles and then it redirects to a new URL:
mybutton_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOW N, myHandler);
function myHandler(event:MouseEvent):void {
navigateToURL(new URLRequest("newpage.html"), "_self");
}
I am trying to make it so that it will pause ON the face smiling (MOUSE_DOWN) for a second before redirecting.
I have two button instances on the stage. I've created two functions, one for each button to handle their MOUSE_DOWN event. In both of those functions I have a trace statement to ensure the MOUSE_DOWN events trigger their respective function calls, which each do.
The Problem: When you hover over either button, the button state changes to the "OVER" state as it should. However, when you click the button, the button flickers for a split second and then goes to the "DOWN" state. The flicker appears to be the button going to the "UP" state momentarily and then to the "DOWN" state. The only thing I can think of causing this problem is the fact that there is a MovieClip on the "UP" and "OVER" states that may be inheriting button events.
I've had this happen in the past when using button instances that contain MovieClips inside of them, but never knew how to remedy the problem. As a last resort I guess I could just change all the button instances to movieclips, but I'd like to learn how to accomplish this without needing to do that first.
Here is the only code that exists in the entire file:
Code: var _volumeUpButton:SimpleButton = btn_volume_up; var _volumeDownButton:SimpleButton = btn_volume_down;
Its been a while since i used flash and i need some action script for my latest project. On my button i want: aboutUs_mc to play when mouseover aboutUs2_mc to play when mousedown i also dont want either to play until both the mouseover and mousedown happens. i also dont want them movieclips looped.
I am trying to create a pause button that will pause everything on the screen including movieclips/audio. Right now I can't figure out how to pause the movieclips.
i started with a Multiple mp3 players project and i more complicated with that - as you see in the picture i try to do that when click on the play button for every song this switch the song that selected -first preloading + percentage the mp3 file and after play it immediately and of course there is stop button, pause button when choose a song the previously that play will be muted
I finished the Flash Video Basics Tutorials, but I'd like the video not to start playing straight away. I also want it to stop playing when it's finished and not start over again.Is there also an easy way to have the play-button change into pause button, when the video is paused?
I've created a flash movie for a presentation that has six buttons.Each button has a action script with a root target keyframe,i.e. button three [code]When the timeline reaches the target keyframe the movie stops and movie clip animations for that keyframe play.I have actionsript in the main timeline that allows me to play the main time line in reverse [code] The pause should pause the movie clips if I'm pausing in the target keyframes.
I am autoplaying a FLV in a SWF in scene 1. I have created buttons on this same scene that will do different things, and present different information. I really want that button to pause that autoplaying video when it starts those actions. How can I accomplish this?
i am having a problem in creating a plause, play button.The problem now is the button just can pause 1 sound.i have many sound at timeline and it will play 1 by 1.
This is wat i have do at the 1rst but it cant pause all the sound. i try to remove mySound.attachSound("tomato");but it wont work also. the another problem is if i click the play button for 2 times, it will got 2 sound play together.
mySound = new Sound(); mySound.attachSound("sound1"); mySound.start(0,99);
I've got a little flash video I made with multiple scenes, frame by frame animation, some text, sound etc. I figured I'd add a pause button so slower readers could read the text. And it ALMOST works.I took the code right out of an actionscript 3 tutorial on the adobe tv, worked fine when I did the tutorial, but that had only the one scene.And as far as I can tell it works fine in my video: in the first scene and then doesn't. I'm wondering if it has to do with button instances or something but I've tried everything I can think of: copy pasting code into the next scene, changing names. But I get a duplicate functions error with that and it doesn't work at all!Does anyone know how to get this to work with more than just one scene?
Here is the code:
play(); pauseButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER , pausePlay); function pausePlay(e:MouseEvent):void { stop(); }
And then the same again with Mouse out and resume play and play in the brackets.
I'm trying to code the space bar key as a pause/play function in my flv player. I'm using Lee Brimlow's flv player tutorial as a model for my flv player so essentially it's driven via netstream coding. I've tried two different codes, code 1 being something I used a while back on another project and code 2 something I've been trying (hoping) would work better.
I don't use Flash that much so the question may sound simple, but how do I pause audio in a timeline? I have added the audio, play and stop button. When I test it works fine, but I can't figure out how to add the pause button, or the play/pause button.
I'm making a website for music and video and need to find out how i go about making a pause button for audio,. it has to pause the sound being played and then restart the sound from the point it was paused
I'm working on a simple Video player that plays upon click. Than, once the movie is done playing, the oplay button re-appears and you can re-play the movie.I'm trying to add a Pause button when a user puts a mouse over a movie.. So, the pause button should appear once the Mouse is over the Movie and dis appear when the MOuse is moved..Below is the script so far:
import fl.video.*;import flash.display.MovieClip; var myVideo:FLVPlayback = new FLVPlayback();var playbtn:playBtn = new playBtn();var staticpic:staticPic = new staticPic();
I am trying to just have a Pause button appear in frame 620 of my timeline and users can click this to pause the timeline if they want to slow down and read my text. However, with the below code, I get an error message of:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at Untitled_fla::MainTimeline/frame620()
Here is my code on frame 620
//Pause Button code btnPause.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, stopLoop); function stopLoop(evtobj:MouseEvent):void{ stop(); }
The music and sounds continue, but the graphics and text stop progressing.
I'm making a mp3 player using flash and i would like to have the play and pause function all in one button rather having separating into two buttons. Here is the code what I have so far.
Code:
playpause_button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playpauseButtonClick); function playpauseButtonClick( event:MouseEvent):void { theChannel = theSound.play(pausepoint);
I know you are all probably very busy already but I was hoping you might be able to help me with an issue I am having in Flash CS3. It is my first project, and in retrospect I realize I have gotten in over my head but it is too late to turn back.The project is a recruitment video of sorts that will be distributed on cd-rom. When it runs, an intro video plays on the main screen, and there are buttons that will take the user to other pages with more videos and information. The problem I am having is that the intro video can still be heard in the background even when the user clicks to go to another page. I've tried multiple solutions from the boards but I am either doing something wrong or the solutions just aren't appropriate for my situation. Basically my question is this, how do I get a custom-created button (named "More" in my case) to pause the FLV Playback, or even just mute it's sound?
I am a newbie to flash. I am having problem to unpause my pause button, it works fine locally in my computer but when i upload the swf file online, it is not possible to unpause it again.Here are my code:
Let's say this is movieclip 1 which i named it as m1. var snd1:Sound = new Sound(); var snd1URL:URLRequest = new URLRequest("c5_1.wav")
I checked all flaskit sources and tutorials. All of them are telling about mp3 players with stop, play and pause buttons.
Is there any source or tutorial about a radio which continiously play songs ? No pause, no play, no stop button. it will play songs in specific folder nonstop in loop. ?
I'm trying to create buttons so a viewer can pause and then play an externally loaded swf. My project can be accessed at the linke below. This is how I want the project to function
-Click a room on the building (choose Accounting for this discussion)
-Click one of the demo options (choose Ending a Period for this discussion)
- Now that the demo plays, I want the user to be able to play and pause the demo swf.
The demo .swfs were created in Captivate so I don't have access to their timeline. They are loaded into an empty Loader component using the MovieClipLoader Class.
I'm extremely new to Flash and I am making a website and want to have a single button that when pressed pauses or plays a music file. I was able to create one that works by following a tutorial that I found online but the problem is that the button is on the main timeline so as I move away from it, it stops working. I think that it would work better if I was able to make a movie clip out of the button so that it doesn't sit on the main timeline and will keep working no matter where I am on the timeline. All I need is one button that pauses and plays music when pressed. I also want to be able to have a "music on" line of text and "music off" line of text depending on whether the music is playing or not.
Well as the title says I need to create an Play/Pause button in one. So when I click on the button it plays my animation, then when I click on it again it pauses it. And then when I click on it again it plays the animation where it was. etc. etc.
I know how to create a simple button and give it an event and an function, but I cant figure out how to get those 2 functions together in one?
I have created a Pause and Play button that toggles between states. It controls a Timeline with synced Sound. When I use it the sound and animation go out of sync. Can anyone help me with this or perhaps have better code I could swap out to make this work?
Below is what I am currently using:On the first frame of an Action Script layer put this AS:
Put the Pause and Play buttons directly over each other on 2 layers for the duration of the timeline.Pause Button on top. (unless you have a STOP on the first line then maybe the Play button will start it.
designer by trade & having difficulty getting my head around scripting. For most of what I'm doing, I'm managing to get by modifying snippetts that I've found online. However, one spot where I'm now stuck is making a pause button work for streaming mp3 files. I should qualify that adding the pause button was an after thought that I now realise is essential to the project working properly. The mp3 needs to start playing as soon as it starts downloading which is working fine. The mp3 needs to stop when the user goes to the next or the previous page, which is also working fine. But when the pause button is clicked first time, nothing happens. When it's clicked a second time, another instance of the mp3 starts playing. The pause and stop buttons work on this second instance, but not the first. I'm sure there's something really straight forward that I'm missing here, but I need a hand to find it. Following is the script as it now stands.
I am trying to make an animation that will pause and start again after a certain time. The problem is I don't have any experience with Actionscript (or programming of any sort for that matter)..I found this link that appears to explain how it's done, but I can't seem to replicate it. I'm not even sure which version of Actionscript this is.. [URL]
I am trying to set up a presentation with small clips (pictures that fade in and out) but I need to insert pause so I can provide some explanations to the public. I create a button and inserted an action (stop) on a specific frame, then on click, the timeline move on to the next frame and the animation starts again.This works well. this is the code snippets I used
I'd like to pause an animation loop when I rollover a button(the button is part of the area that is being animated and I want all the other buttons to stop animating except for the one I rollover) and then start the animation back up again when I rollout.
I have a play/pause button on my animation which works a treat when all animations are within the main movie clip. Now I would like to have some movement within the main movieclip and some within individual sub movie clips. Once I go to play the animation all animated objects within the main movieclip are stopped but the sub movie clips are playing. How can I stop the sub movie clips to???
The following is the current code I have ActionScript Code: stop (); play_btn.onRelease = function(){ gotoAndStop(2); _parent.play(); [Code] .....
