View 4 RepliesI'm trying to load all the images to display on the stage from an xml file.I am also trying to add them onto the stage using the Bitmap class. This is where I am having trouble. I am using the Bitmap class so I can use their width and height.Right now I'm only able to see one image on stage when I use the Bitmap class. If I don't use the Bitmap class and just addChild(iconLoader) inside the loop in the xmlLoaded function I can see all of the images. But I want to use the Bitmap class.

I'm trying to figure out how contentLoaderInfo works; I'm trying to display 5 images on stage and place them horizontally based on their individual widths. Everything works fine except inside displayImage i remains at 5. Each width traces out correctly, but i stays at 5. What is it about contentLoaderInfo that I'm not understanding?

appears to be a problem with masking text. Trying to embed it now. So, I have a button that I want to display a label movieclip on mouseover, yeah? -and the clip contains a blank dynamic textField with an instance name of "label_text". So, I have one of these clips as a private variable in the button's class definition, and the constructor passes the button's instance name to the label's constructor to set the text field.Unfortunately, the text will only show if I actually open up the label's clip in the library and type something in. Not very dynamic!

I am using a third party flash as3 code to load graphics using sprite. There is a class (load) that takes care of the loading of the graphics.In a new class(getname), I want to be able to1. Load the graphics (done)2. On mouseover change the color of graphics(done)3. Display name of rolled over graphic (not working). I have tried the following in

I get a null object error. Now I have used the mousevent routine(e.target.name) and can display the instance #(instance149). But what I really want is the name of the graphics that the load function loads (graphics and the dbf with all the attributes including the name).

I know how to do this. But When you mouseover one block and come out of it, the text will be still there until you move onto another block, which I don't know how to.

Would I have to code something in the flash (create a button for each...?), or can I map the flash like I would an image?

I would like it to grow (tween) to the new size but and alpha fade would work as well.

However, on mine I would like the images to be static unless the mouse is over the images in which case its position on the x axis determines the direction and speed they scroll.
View 1 RepliesI'm creating a web site that is composed by 9 images, side by side. The site is 968 px wide and 200 px high. Each of the 9 images is 484 px wide and 200 px high originally, but they are masked so that they first appear to have the widths 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, 99, and 484. When the user mouses over a picture, that picture is "unmasked" and showing itself in it's whole width (484), while the others "shrink" to give room for the big one. It's random which picture has the width 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, or 99, but the "chosen" picture is always 484 wide and the sum of the width of the other 8 pictures is always 484 as well.In other words, I want to have the masks tween in size to reveal the image that is rolled over and at the same time have the other 8 masks randomly shrink only revealing a portion of each picture..
View 4 RepliesI'm having issues with my action script in that only one of the mouseover / mouseout event works consistently which is the Mouse3Over functions. Mouse1Over function works fine on initial startup but stops working once I mouse over the 2 other images. For each gotoAndPlay, I've setup the timeline to go to that frame and play for 5 frames to show the image on the mouse over, and then on the mouse out is to go to that specific frame where i've setup to make the image disappear. After the 5 frames, on the 6th frame I added actionscript to that layer to stop();

My whole goal is to sort of do a zoomed in image of that part of the picture like you see on some websites when you mouse over a designated section of the image the close up image shows up.
I have a flash file sitting inside of a web page in our company domain. There is another server (used to store images) that is part of the domain but is not running any web services (for security reasons). A folder on the images server is however shared in such a way that any site on the web server can display images from the images server as long as the user is plugged into the domain. For example, both I and my boss can pull up a web site on the web server and see all the information, but only he can see the images
because I have Vista Basic and no domain support. This is done via "<img src='\serverNamedirectory.'/>"
That's ok, but on this particular instance I don't want to display the image on the webpage, I want it in a SWF on the page. However the SWF can't seem to load the images even though the page it's sitting in could. I've tried tons of variations of URLRequests and Loaders, most resulting in security errors. Since most of the online discussions about these errors revolve around cross-domain access, I can't seem to find any tech support for our specific situation.
Is there a way using flash you can display images but each one selected randomly from say an array of different images?

I need it so when i mouseover a movieclip text appears in a textfield at the bottom of the stage.
also when i click the mc the text stays there as im dragging it into the correct location.
I have a basic mouseover in my flex application which changes an image onmouseover and changes it back onmouseout using the code mouse Over "functionToChangeImageSource()" and another one to mouseout.It works fine when you slowly mouse over and out, however if I quickly move the mouse over it, it occasionally stays on the mouseover image and the mouseout function doesnt appear to kick in. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or does anyone have any ideas why its happening?Also, I've tried the rollOver and rollOut instead but it has the same problem.[code]I'd imagine you're correct about the mouseover event not completing before mouseout is but how to I fix this?
View 3 RepliesI have a library swf (asset.swf), it's document class binded to Asset.as, and in the Constructor function of Asset,[code]as known to all, we cannot visit the stage attribute before the display object added to the stage.so, when my loader.swf try to load asset.swf, it throws exception and the loading come to failure is there some one tell me how to load the asset.swf? I cannot modify the asset.swf.

But the Problem is when i take my mouse over the movie clip both events called tracing the string in the output panel
Infact, things should be done like that on mouse over, its text is printed and when i take my mouse away[out] from the movieClip MouseOut event should be called.

Is there an easier way to display random images, for example I want it to display an image or two and then three or four second�s later change to another. I have over 100 images to display and don�t really want create each frame and place a new image on every 5 or so frame. There must be somewhere out there some action script that can do this, c

I am loading a series of images that animate a sinking log. The log sinks down in water and then rises back up so I display 3 images to sink and the same images in reverse so it rises again and repeated continually.
What I get is the images being displayed in some weird order and not in the order as in urls16?[code]...
I'm making a Matching Game in Flex. I want to have images from one array on my left and images from the second array on my right, so that user can drag&drop images from the left onto matching images on the right.I have mx:HBox and two mx:VBox inside. Now, how can I display images in VBox that I have in my gameArray, if the length of my array (amount of images) may differ? I would have to create as many mx:Image as the length of my gameArray, but how do I do it in MXML?

i am sure i have all of the code i need apart from one piece which tells it that at the end of the project start a new row.
1) I bought a photo gallery that works well, but when I use it in a project I'm working on, the thumbnail images don't display, but everything else does including XML loaded text so I'm pretty sure it has to do with the actionscript and the level it's targeting.
2) I also can't figure out how to shrink the size of the full view photo which seems to also be loaded somehow with action script to a blank MC, but it may not be in the script below... there's a lot of script here that I don't understand.
