I've have an asp.net app that uses flash for its navigation bar...the flash app uses two class files wrapped in packages that create the functionality of the whole navigation bar. When I run the swf file alone, the flash app works fine...but when I try it in the webserver it fails. Whats more, the flash app in the web server will work fine if I type the full URL to the swf file....it will not work however as an embeded object...and what I mean by that is that the flash app will show up embedded into the .net app but the additional functionality created by the other two class files fails!!!
im not new to PHP and Mysql, but i have working on it in Web apps for the past few yearsI am starting a new project, and it has the following:1.the project itself will be built on Adobe Air (Flash) environments //as per clients's request2.there is going to be a custom dictionary (in php), tht is linked to the Flash program su ch tht when a user clicks the word in flash the dictionary should open and land on the word means etc.
This is driving me nuts and because it's a combination of various technologies together I have a hard time tracking the problem. I wrote a tiny HTTP server that serves .flv files; these flv files are encoded on the spot. The flv files are encoded with adobe's screencodec (I started with libflv but that was too buggy so I ended up implementing my own flv encoder). For the problem below it doesn't matter which codec I use or if I serve plain flv files instead of on-the-spot generated ones (the problem also occurs if I just send 12 h264 encoded files).
I also have a swf that I coded in as3. The as3 opens 12 connections to my server and requests 12 different flv's and just displays them as 12 different videos on the page. I tested the setup with Firefox and chrome and am using the latest flash client (version 10). The HTTP server is pseudo streaming those files; e.g. it tells the client the file is of mime type video/x-flv, tells the filesize is 2GB and just starts streaming. For sake of completeness here's a header it generates:
I would like to create an application whereby users can load in a number of files (images), manipulate them (move them about, basically) and then save the results. Easypeasy. Now, my users typically aren't the most IT-literate people in the world (teachers, basically) and will struggle to understand that in order to use the results elsewhere, they will be required to move all the images and the data file (xml, probably) to whatever computer they need to use it on, re-install the app and then put the files in the appropriate directory to be loaded in.
So, to minimise how complicated this will be, I'd like to create a package (a .zip, perhaps - although I'd prefer a bespoke filetype) that contains the xml and the images, meaning that only one file needs to be moved, which can then be loaded in either via a load dialog, double-clicking it or even drag-drop onto the open app.
I have a photo gallery, with a thumbnail panel (a photo viewer page) that I made, coding the AS3 from the key frame. It just so happens that I saw some class files online that have some good stuff in the tutorial.I've never really worked with .as files and I am intimidated by them.Would it be easier to modify my photo gallery, with a thumbnail panel, from key frame to .as AS3 code or to go from .as to key frame code? I personally feel more comfortable with key frame AS3, but I am not scared to dabble. How can I practice adding a couple of class files to my key frame AS3 code- I'm using regular variables, but the interesting idea I saw uses private variables and public functions, and it imports some stuff?
I'm getting close to finishing the application I'm working on, and the person I'm working for is going to be distributing it via DVD. to package my flash file in some format so that when the user opens the file, it will open the swf in an internet browser?
The reason I need to do this is because I have some xml data in it that is keeping it from being fully functional unless opened in an internet browser. I'm not entirely sure why this occurs, because the file works fine in Flash Player on my computer, but not when moved to anyone elses. So, the workaround is to open it in an internet browser.
Anyway, I figure that in order to have the file open in an internet browser, it'd have to be packaged as an exe or some other similar file type, but we want it to be cross-platform.
Maybe there's an easier way, but I need to find out how to package my swf file so that it automatically opens in a browser.
Using flash professional CS5.5 - creating an Air for Android app. It appears you can't deploy any additional files, other than the swf file, In Air debug launcher (mobile) the additional files deploy. But as soon as you deploy it for real on an android machine it fails to install the extra files. (it's a small sqllite file).I have looked in the final APK file using zip and they are there in the assets folder.
Is it possible to package all external files, such as images and videos, into the final .swf or equivalent file? I want to keep the external files separate because it is easier to change them out while developing, but I don't want them to be external when delivering the project.
i need a simple python lib that check the uploaded files to my webserver are flash media (FLV), by reading the flv header (metadata) and not the mimetype extension.
We have recently deployed Flash Media Streaming server 3.5.2 and Flash Media Encoder on a Windows 2003 machine. Do you guys know of any security best practices to follow for the FMS server deployment on a Windows machine, could you please point me to that resource.
I would like to use different service definitions in a Flex app depending on whether I'm running on:
My local developer machine The test tier The QA tier The production tier
My services are all AMFPHP remote objects, living on different hosts and at different locations depending on which tier I'm on. How can I have my flex app choose the 'correct' tier at runtime to connect to?
I am in the process of creating a vertical scrolling space shooter game for deployment on mobile platforms using AIR.I've used some excellent tutorials online, video tutorials on Lynda and several books, including Game Programming University.Something they all seem to gloss over are the various screens that will be used.
For instance, my game right now will use a splash screen, a main menu screen, a credits screen,a settings screen, a difficulties screen, an instruction screen, an end game screen and save/load screen...and a play game screen, where the actual game will be played.I've created the screens as seperate frames in the main timeline with stop commands in between and code on each page (I know... bad!... but easy). So basically, they can navigate through the menus using buttons (mouseclicks, which will work with touchs as well) and when they are How do I pass data between them? I was thinking of storing it in shared object.
I am having troubles passing an x and y argument into a package function that creates a projectile on stage at the tank.gun's x and y.I have attached a zip of the code I am working on.[code]
I'm running into this weird thing with ASDoc. It will only document one package function per package. For example.I have these two functions:
gs.util.printf gs.util.ftrace
In these files:
gs/util/printf.as gs/util/ftrace.as
The only function that get's documented in ASDocs is "printf". But I know it can do more than one. As an example, in the livedocs [URL] There are more than one functions documented.
I"ve created some flash content that contains two .flv files that I'm interested in distributing. My question is- how do I "package" the files together so the .flv and .swf open together and I also need to ensure that no one else can open and edit them in Flash(ex- someone receives the files, has flash on their computer and can alter my original content).
C:demoABC.as: Error: A file found in a source-path must have the same package structure '', as the definition's package, 'demo'.Where is wrong above command?
This is with Flexbuilder 3.2, Eclipse 3.3.2.I am moving my development environment to a new machine. Actionscript classes that compiled in the old environment now get a compile error:
A file found in a source-path must have an externally visible definition. If a definition in the file is meant to be externally visible, please put the definition in a package.I do declare the package in these classes - I think failure to declare the package is the usual reason for this error. To add to the mystery, many classes in this project compile without errors.
I recently used Flash to create the header for my website. However, when I tried to upload my .fla file along with the .swf (which had no problem), I couldn't because the file format isn't supported. Is there any way I can get around this?
Also, I heard that you have to upload some .js file or something.
I'm working on a project with the jpgEncoder to create an image file that currently downloads but I need help with the code to save the dynamically created jpg back to the webserver.
I used the 'Advanced Slideshow' template in Flash CS5 to create a photo gallery. The images in the template are not placed inside of the project but are separate files (the photos). I tested it on my harddrive and it works perfectly. Then I uploaded it to my website and it doesn't show the images. The folder structure is the same as it is on my harddrive, all the files are the same.
What can I call from within Flex/AS3 that will tell me whether the flex-app/web page is being executed within the local file system or rather was served from a webserver (either localhost or some remote server). Hopefully that's clear. If there's something in Javascript that's acceptable, but some AS3 function would of course be preferable.
I have a problem with a rotating banner which i can't find a solution for... i am sure i am forgetting something, or doing something wrong but i tried 100 things and i can't get a solution for the problem.Local, everything works but when uploaded to the server the flash won't read my xml so won't display anything.I already checked all the paths.. changed the folder names, was very aware of upper and lower case but still no result.
I've been building an XML feed reader, here's the code I'm using:
var myXML:XML;var myLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); myLoader.load(new [code]....
It works fine and loads the XML inside the flash authoring environment (ie when i preview with crtl+enter), or when I make an executable projector, but when I try to run the SWF by double-clicking, or when the SWF is on the webserver, the text box doesn't display the data...
I have installed FMS 3.5 on an Intranet server, and it installs its own version of Apache. This has now caused the localhost to open the FMS page. Disabling FMS 3.5 returns back to the Localhost page.It is not possible to run FMS 3.5 on an existing Webserver with Apache?
I tried some applications like vod and live with localhost. Now I'm trying to use some applications on my site. It's the first thing you need to do, but apparently it's so basic that I can't find information about it.Can someone explain me how to change the "localhost" to a webserver? In other words, how do I set up an application like vod on my site?
I have a simple script that load from a xml file , 3 different languages on a little site. On local testing it working, on remote no, I try to test with remote debug and i have this error on array i think
TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties. at index_fla::MainTimeline/completeHandler()[index_fla.MainTimeline::fra me2:330] at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent() at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete()
I have coded my Flex / PHP project in a local machine. I have used AMFphp for remoting and I got to deploy and test this application in a remote server. How could I do this using Flashbuilder 4.5?
I want people to be able to upload images so should I have them upload it into a db using BLOB or should I have them upload it to the web server? I've been reading people say that the web server is probably better to use, but I don't know about that using AS.
