ActionScript 3.0 :: Pause Clock When Mouse Inactive Then Restart?

Nov 28, 2010

I am trying to put together some games for my students to help them with their English. I want to be able to detect how long they spend on each game and so I want the clock to stop if the mouse is inactive for 45 seconds and then restart when they begin moving the mouse again. This is so the parents can see how long their kids' have been studying and not just how long the game has been running.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Pause And Restart A Looping WAV?

This code is part of an animation where the audio is set to "Stream" in AS2. When I change the audio file to an Event, the pause and play button don't stop the audio, but the animation still "stopAllClips". When it's set to stream, there's the infamous gap in the playback when it loops.

I've been struggling to figure out a smooth and efficient way to code this animation as an Event so it loops smoothly and can pause and restart all the layers in the same place.[code]...

Professional :: Pause On Movie Won't Restart

Mar 1, 2010

I've built a pause and replay function into a children's book for a client.  Since the narration is in song, I needed to keep the sound file in one piece, so I built a reverse pyramid with regular buttons throughout, truncated from the beginning with each progressive scene. So if you press the pause button at point 1 2 or 3, you are sent with a stop command to the first frame of scene 1 2 or 3, and then there's a "play" button on that first frame with this simple command[code]...

I have created pause buttons for the audio and will be adding in stop features to the movie itself stop however my problem is. When I pause the audio and then go to restart the audio does not restart at the place it paused. It is ramndom in its restart. Like if the phrase was "see you in september" and I pause in the middle of "september" it will not restart in the middle of september...might start at "see" might start and "in" I do not get it. Here is my script which is in the first frame.[code]...

ActionScript 3.0 :: Clock - The Digital Clock Works Fine, But The Analog Clock Just Starts From A Random Time?

Apr 12, 2011

I have to make this analog clock for a university assignment and despite some really good efforts last night and tonight I just can't work out how to get it fully working. There is both a digital and analog clock; the digital clock works fine, but the analog clock just starts from a random time whenever I play the test movie. I am supposed to use the date object, not the timer object. And I am also supposed to add a sound every minute - I have added the sound to the minutes layer and selected but I don't know where to go from there. I seem to be able to find lots of example code for the timer object but not the date.

Flash :: Html - Movies In Inactive Browser Tabs Pause Or Don't Execute In Real Time

Apr 7, 2010

I'm noticing some unexpected behavior. Some time in the last few months, a change in either Firefox, the Flash player, or both, has made it so that Flash movies that are in inactive browser tabs no longer execute in real time. They appear to still execute, but only in bursts, and not in a predictable way. This is a problem because I develop a Flash-based (Actionscript 2.0, Flash CS3) multiplayer game that maintains a network connection and allows players to chat, etc.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Remove EnterFrameListener To Pause A Clock?

Feb 28, 2012

I'm trying to find a way to stop my clock from ticking using event handlers. I almost have it, but for some reason the second hand (the one im only testing at the moment) is still rotating. This is my code that i'm using to try and stop the hand from rotating:

Code:
function clockStop(e:MouseEvent){
sec.removeEventListener(Event.EXIT_FRAME, enterFrameListener);
trace("click");
}
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clockStop);

Just above this code is my enterFrameListener which rotates the minute, second and hour hands. Also, above this i have of course the attached enterFrameListener to the second hand:

Code:
sec.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, enterFrameListener);

ActionScript 2.0 :: Pause A Moving Object On Mouse RollOver

Dec 13, 2006

I am trying to achieve a rollover effect like this menu.

[URL]

The menu is working and sliding perfectly, however it's still a little squirmish, and if I can't figure this out I'll deal with it and let it slide. However it's bugging me and want to correct the "sluggishness" of this issue. I want the menu to pause, or rest when you open it, so that there isn't a chance the it can slide off of the users mouse pointer.

Here is the code

Code:
onClipEvent (load) {
_y = 0;
speed = 5;

[Code]....

I thought a simple on (rollOver) speed = 0 would do the trick, however it just sends the menu in a frenzy.

ActionScript 2.0 :: A Mouse-focus Based Pause Function For A Game?

Mar 4, 2008

So your playing a flash game that's fast paced and mouse-based (hey that rhymes somewhat)... And then you accidentally move your mouse outside of the area of the swf... And then it pauses automatically with a "Continue" button, instead of you just dying or whatever. I've thought you could have a huge button the size of the stage and make it do something when the frame isn't 'mouseover' or whatever, but there's gotta be a better way. Also setting limits on the _xmouse and _ymouse wouldn't work cos sometimes the mouse moves too fast for them to accurately get the last mouseposition...

Jquery - Play Movie Clip On Hover Pause When Mouse Leaves

Does anyone know of a way to get this video to work in other browsers like in the second example? If not, how can I achieve that same idea using Flash?

Actionscript 3 :: AIR App Inactive = Lower Framerate?

Mar 10, 2012

I'm developing an AIR app that is receiving TUIO events from a Framework for a fiducial marker based multitouch table. Until yesterday I was faking the events by mouse to work faster, but then I connected everything to a TUIO simulator and the problems appeared.

The TUIO Simulator is a java app. By dragging markers on the simulator you can send OSC messages that I'm forwarding to my AIR app. The problem is that I'm noticing that when I drag something on the simulator, my AIR app lose the focus, and the AIR framerate suddendly drops. If I drag something on my simulator and I switch super fast to the AIR window, everything goes smooth, so it seems the problem is that if my AIR app is not the active app it's redrawn at a lower framerate (I remember reading something about this, not sure).

So my questions are: am I right about the fact that inactive windows in AIR are redrawn at lower framerate? do you have any workaround to fix it and to allow me to interactive with the java app without my AIR framerate drops?

ActionScript 2.0 :: How To Make Button Inactive

Jan 26, 2007

In my project I have a dynamic text box. You enter you name in the text box and then click the submit button. This then takes your name and puts in on another slide. The only problem is that you can skip this by entering nothing in the text box, then the other dynamic text box calls you "undefined". I was just wondering if there was a way to make the button inactive until the text box has some text in it. I have tried if statements but nothing seems to work.
