ActionScript 3.0 :: Pulling Movie Clips From Library At Runtime, Dynamic Names?

Currently i am experiencing a problem with pulling Movie Clips from a Library and Tweening it (adding) it to the stage at runtime and then quickly removing it (addChild()) and removeChild(); I have 6 Library items, which i am interested in using.
car_mc1
car_mc2
car_mc3[code].....
My Question:
1) The name is not genereted through the addChild metho, is there an temp Add solution or something that would add on the Fly?
2)The object when working as a single object, gets Tweened out to -200, i just want it to Tween out and get Removed form the stage?
3) The Movie Clip remains on the screen while another instance is brought on when using static naming convetion (this is just to say that i have tested it),I only want the object to be available for the Tween, nothing else

I am wondering if anyone knows of any extensions (or other methods) that give instance names to multiple movie clips at once. I have the same movie clip on hundreds of keyframes and I have to convert them to graphic symbols to animate, then back to movie clips for scripting, but they lose their instance names.

I have created some movieclips and will be using them as buttons. After applying event listeners to them, they do not correlate to their instance names. I have a switch case statement set up to catch when one of the movieclips are clicked on and this is caught, the method is invoked but none of the cases are satisfied as all the buttons have the instance name "instance58" for example....they are all numbered instances.

I'm trying to write a script that uses the instance name of a button to grab a movie clip with the same name from the library and add it to the stage. I also need to remove the movie clip that had the button in it, and be able to pass a variable along to the new movie clip. I got something similar to work using button instance names to jump to a frame label with the same name.

I have a Flash movie as2 that has a main movie that loads other movie clips into a Flash Window .I need to control the actions for the Flash Window movie from the main movie.As the movie in the Window is not on the stage until runtime ,how do i communicate to it from the main movie time line.example:Play the main movie and you click on a button that moves a ball across the stage ,at the same time a window pops up with a linked movie clip embedded in it that will change color when the ball on the stage reaches a specific point.The movie is alot more complicated than that ,as it is a aircraft system simulation. Where the pop is a circuit diagram of the action and the main movie is a flow diagram of the same function.

I have a simple array of movie clips ("box1" "box6") that I have created on the stage. I then have a simple onRollOver function that is iterated for each of these movie clips, as shown below. As it is now it's working fine, but I can forsee two potential problems for when I use larger arrays and apply this technique to my real working files.
If I were to have many more movie clips, the first line of code would be much longer as it lists each movie clip instance name. Is there a way to use, for example, a for loop to include all these movie clips in the array without having to type out all their names? As you can see here, I have used a simple numerically-incremented naming process. I think the problem may be that I am using movie clips with instance names assigned on the stage and not created through ActionScript.The function as I have created it makes all the movie clips gotoAndStop(1) and then the one that has been rolled over goes to frame 2. Is there a way of making all the movie clips in the array except the one that has been rolled over gotoAndStop(1), ie. is it possible to exclude the rolled-over movie clip from the first part of the function? Here it works just fine as it is, but I'm thinking that maybe when I start using more complex functions with tweens etc it may cause problems. Or not?

I have a folder full of SWF files. Each SWF is its own animation. I have several people submitting their animations for this project. I would like to embed all these SWF's into my project and use .play() .stop() and other movieclip related commands on them as a whole. By this I mean, the artist sends me the SWF, my AS3 script embeds it, then I can access it with say animation_1.stop(); without the artist ever having to enter a instance name, or export for ActionScript name.
I plan to create a shell script which will take all the swf's in a folder and create a AS3 file with all the embed statements. The instance name that will be given to each one by the shell script will be the file name. Is this possible to embed a SWF and access it without giving any movie clips instance names or exporting for Actionscript? UPDATE: @annonymously answer below helped a lot. and I want to add multiple buttons, not just this one. I figured out by trial and error that I couldn't just consecutively list the instances, I also found I couldn't just replicate the code and change the instance names. I just need to know how to go about having multiple buttons/clips.

I have a main swf called, main.swf; Inside it I load another movie, skin.swf (this has 10 movieclips in the library with linkage name). What I want is to attach the movieclips from skin.swf inside the main.swf.
But problem is I am not able to attach the movie clip in the main.swf from skin.swf.

I'm new to AS but have some coding background (php, sql, vba) and some basic (non-AS) Flash skills.I want to create a bar chart a bit like this: http:[url].....Really would like some sample code if poss. This is my thinking:
1) Each section of the bar chart will be a movie clip, mc_2, mc_3 etc.
2) There will be an array with Qty, Type, Desc and Name of movie clip (e.g. mc_3).
3) There is a generic bar chart "block" movie clip in the library ("Block")
4) So I plan to loop through the array, attachMovie for each iteration, resize the Movie proportionate to Qty, and colour it by Type.
Problem is: (1) I don't know the right functions to use; (2) Are mc_2, mc_3 INSTANCES of my generic movieclip, "Block" ? (3) should the code sit on the timeline? (4) do i need an empty movie clip to attach the library item to?

Ok, I'm using actionscript 2.0, and I am trying to make a scrolling image gallery. I have a movie clip with three layers. the first contains a movie clip used as a scroll bar. The second is a mask used to hide the overflow content, and the third contains movie clip thumbnails. when I click one of the thumbnails, it loads a symbol containing a larger version of the picture over top of the thumbnails on the same layer. My problem is, the large image is added at the very top of the movie clip, even when it is scrolled out of sight. I want it to appear in sight, so the user doesn't have to scroll all the way back up to the top to see it. This is annoying and confusing. Is there a way to do this?
Here is the code I used to create the scroll effect (there is actually a whole lot more to the code but it is very long, so I am not adding it now. I will if it is needed though)(Oh, and there is no text involved in this. I just got this code off a tutorial and I haven't changed the variable names yet)

How many small size movie clips can I store in the library. On the stage I randomly use 6 of them but this random clips will come from an array full of 3500 m.clips. Is it reasonable , or should I use another way like using xml files.

I'm trying to display random movie clips within the library (See attached fla)
each movie clip needs to display (fade in/fade out) and then proceed to display another movie clip from the library
You'll see how i have tried to do this is by creating a random number

basically, im trying to load random movie clips from the library when i run the function "TRO1".. the logic behind what im trying to do is to to first create an array containing the class names (name given in the "linkage" option) of the movie clips in the library... then randomly select an item from that array... then bring it to the stage.. Here is the code I typed:

When i try to run the function, i get the error message "Instantiation attempted on a non-constructor..."
I think the problem is that flash doesn't understand what "randomCharacter" is in the line "var character:MovieClip = new randomCharacter();"... I assume there is a proper way of writing the "randomCharacter" variable so that i can use it in the succeeding line...

I'm creating a site and when a particular button in the navigation is clicked I want to load the corresponding "page" movie clip onto the stage and remove any other "page" that is currently loaded. I would also like to have a nice alpha fade between them. I've been searching around and can't find anything. I know this is simple like I need a loader container and I need to export for ActionScript the movie clips I want to load into the container.

That I use to load SWF movies into a flash file. I do this because I am unable to compile clips and put them into my main movie library without breaking the actionscript and causing everything to go haywire.The problem with this is that it will only work so long as the swf movie file is within the vicinity of the SWF/Somefile.swf. I need to make a standalone SWF for my purposes.

I have a menu which attach movie clips from the library, when I first probed the preloader there were not any linked movie clips, neither png files (because each button in the menu attach a picture which is inside the movie clip) now that I have put the movie clips in the library the preloader doesn't work and I don't know why.

I created the code below which works as it should using the main timeline actions in AS3 - now, for my project I need this to work in AS3 using class files (basically I'm creating an app which uses pages as class files. This is intended to go on the 2nd page.for some reason though when I've copied it into my project and instantiated it when the page loads, even though all traces say that the squares should be there - they are not! The best I've had so far is one square in the final position![code]

Im having a hard time putting in my head on how would i go at making flash read a xml file (this part I have it going smooth) and then fromt hat elements put on the stage a sprite or a movieclip that is interactive.
To make it clear I want to load and display an image that when you press it it just creates another square beneath it with some text. I believe I have to interate the xml and then use each of the elements with a class and gettin that object onto the stage.
Im using flash builder and as3 and im looking just for pointing in the rigth direction,

We've got an Illustrator file with something over 1,000 layers. We're trying to import this into Flash and keep the layer names intact, such that they become the names of the movie clips that are imported for each layer and can be used programmatically. (It is a diagram and arrows, boxes, etc all have callout names that will eventually allow them to link to a database.)As near as I can tell, the Import dialog will NOT pass this info across between the two parts of the dialog.
