ActionScript 3.0 :: Save Drawing On A Website So It Accessable For Altering Later?

Lets say that a user has a profile on my webpage and is logged in. Hes using a flash draw app on that site and now he wants to save what his drawn. He wants to save it to his profil in an archive, so he can access it again later on. is this possible? and how would you go about it? the drawing is all within one movieclip (with tons of other movieclips inside it) it has to be saved in such a away so its possible to access the individual movieclip inside main movieclip.

I've designed a painter program where the user can select different colours and 'paint' a custom design on screen. What I would like to do is incorporate a 'Save' button which takes a snapshot of their drawing which they can then save to their computer.

Here is what I have done.I downloaded and installed FMS 3.5 (latest) on a virtual machine running in vmware on my iMac. The virutal machine runs Ubuntu 8.04 and has IP-number 192.168.219.130. Installed and completed I moved the "Legend.flv" file found on the "Beginners guide to streaming..." to my newly installed FMS /opt/adobe/fms/applications/vod/mediaI tested the fms by connecting with my iMac using the admin interface (copied from /opt/adobe/fms/tools/...) and logged in using the following credentials:Server Name: Server 1Server Address: 192.168.219.130Username: *********Password: **********The admin interface connected and all seemd to be just fine.I fired up my SWF made in CS4 (attached file). Basically it is an empty stage with a FLVPlayback component dragged on to the stage. the component has 3 changes made:skin: SkinUnderAllNoFullNoCaption.swfskinBackground: #009933source: rmtp://192.168.219.130/vod/Legend At this stage I only get the green bar with the loading stripes in the progress bar. I.e. the video never starts. If I check the admin tool and the log tabs It seems that no attempts to connect has been made.

i'm working on a class project that allows people to draw on a square, save it, display it for others to see, and then lets anyone to continue drawing on that square.how do i script that? i need to use flash and AS2.0, and i'm trying to do some research on how to do this whole thing, and i'm hearing a lot of things: some say xml, some with php and mysql? whatever it is, i believe this has to be a server-side thing? i don't mind learning light scripting of other languages, but the primary scripting should be AS, since it's a flash class.i'm not sure if this is true, but i think xml, php, and mysql are only text-based? for my project, i imagine that people would be saving an swf and then loading that swf and continue adding. is there a script in AS that generates an swf? maybe jpg is fine too. i just need to be able to save and load something that's image based and not text-based.

im new to this forum and kinda new to flash and php together...i have this project that would load a swf movie on a drawing board and user could draw something over then swf movie. It should be able to save the drawings to the database, so that the user could just load it for later use. for example if the user draws a zigzag line at frame 5 of swf movie and on frame 10 of the swf movie deletes the zigzag line and draw a circle and then saves it. then loads it later, from frame 1 to 4 of the swf movie the zigzag line should not show but on frame 5 to frame 9 it would show and on frame 10 shows only the circle. or just on the specific frame number of the swf movie it will show. like when user draw on frame 6 then on before or after frame 6 it wont show..the second one might be a bit easier to implement.
how do i save the user drawings over the swf movie? and how do i load it? do i have to save everthing (like x and y coordinates, movieclip names) in a textfile? and use that textfile to recreate the swf file drawn? what ways could i implemnt this? hopefully someone to could point me in the right direction.

my saving part, where user select the necessary equipments & draw the connections. user are also able to generate the cable connection list in datagrid component.
I understand that flash doesnt provide saving to image technically, have seen some websites on the teaching & i tried to apply on my flash.
I have this error: 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method save through a reference with static type flash.net:FileReference. at source: fileRef.save(ba,"EMC"+i+".jpg");
I want to save the file locally inside harddisk, without any server script.

I'm still relatively new to the actionscript 3.0 world. I have been given an assignment to make a drawing program that allows me to do many different things. One of the big things that it needs to do is be able to save a file with the drawing information and still be editable. After much searching I see that you can't just write sprites to a file and then they come back cleanly, obviously returns null. I also don't think that registerClassAlias won't work because I don't think it will allow me to convert things back to a sprite. I keep an array of sprites that allows me to undo/redo, and I originally figured I could either write the arrays or the individual sprites to the file, but that is not allowed either. Does anyone have any idea how I can possibly accomplish saving my drawing document and loading my document with keeping all of my sprites in my array separate from each other?

I am brand new to all Adobe applications but have the CS5 Master Suite and have been taking many courses through Lynda.com for months. I wish to learn how to make a small video of an object being sketched. That is use a drawing tablet and stylus (whatever they are called...I have NO idea) and trace over a photo. When finished I wish to have the video of the slowly created tracing of the object sped up and when complete fade away and the actual photograph of the object traced overlap fade into view. In other words use this as a transition technique for presenting a photograph of an object rather then just have it "pop" onto the screen. My questions are: (1) What special drawing pad and stylus are required (if any....can I do it with just the mouse?) (2) Is Flash Professional the program one would use to make such a video? If not which Adobe program is best suited to this task, and (3) Is there a NAME to this "technique" in whatever program was given in answer to question two so I know where to begin and/or look for a tutorial on how to accomplish this technique?

On my website people enter, watch a live stream from a remote server (not my server) and when they click on a button it report it to me and what I want to add is the ability for me to take a screenshot of this stream at the very moment when they click that button and save it on the server. They question is how to implement so? Now I just have that stream in an Iframe that shows it as a .swf object Possible solutions I thought of but don't know whether will work are:
Embedding this Iframe inside a flash object that I will create. That means that on the website the users will see a flash object I created that all it does is to show the stream from an url I give it and when the user clicks on a button inside the html it will send the flash the command to save the screenshot now and then save it on my server (don't know how to implement it, so the second question is, if you think it will work, how to do so?).Second solution is to have an open browser on my server that when the user clicks the button, I send an ajax request to the server that will then order the browser to take a screenshot and save it locally on the server. (again, if you think this solution will work, tell me how to implement so).

How do I make a flash document that records numbers on a server, so that whenever any user uses it, it updates so that when another user accesses it, they will see the current value and can update it. I'm thinking of just starting off simple and making a button that when you click it, the total count for the number of clicks increases by one, but I want to make it so two users using it at the same time will see each others' click and have it updated on their screen (with refreshing).

I am developing (well, trying to anyway) a service where a member can record themselves on our website using their webcam. We need to be able to record that entire webcam session they had on our website for judges to determine whether they've cheated or not (it's a competition-based service). But, I can find no documentation, articles or even a sign that this is possible (other than knowing I've seen it in use many times). And I'm not sure what kind of hosting would be most appropriate for this type of service, and what steps would be required for me to get started on this.

I want to do something which is probably pretty simple but I've got absolutely no idea how to do it!What I want is for the Alpha value of an object (movie clip) to change depending on the x position of the mouse. So when the mouse is at 0 the alpha of the object will be 0%, and when it's at 100 the alpha will be 100%

However, how do i:make the black lines between each item a different colouralter the height of each item - I thought that by making the font bigger, and the leading this would force the list item deeper - but it didn't work

I've copyed the same source code to several scenes, hence I've had to change the variables on each scene, "var spawn" to "var spawn1"I don't get any errors, it's just that in the scenes where I've changed the variables the collision detection does not work.I've checked and rechecked the code and I just cannot figure out this issue.Bottomline, what could have caused functions to malfunction after altering variables and what's an effective way to find the error?

I don't know if i'm in the right category here.I have a line in the center of the screen, and i want it to bend. i guess i have to use vector operations? (I mean, what Illustrator uses. visuals, with vectors instead of pixels). I want to be able to set points, so that the line bends towards that point. And the color under the line should be different than the color above the line. Does anyone know how to get started on something like this?

The bug is where when I shrink a simple circle, it appears to have somehow been altered to the point where the curves are no longer completely circular. Object becomes jagged, then when I bring the the object back to its original shape using the scale tool there the shape is no long a perfect circle.

I've created a complicated animation at a stupidly high frame rate. The .mov file at the moment just runs too slowly. The animation is of a watch interface so the timing is very important and I can't just have the movie file take twice as long at a lower frame rate.
How can I drop the frame rate without altering the overall time? and without manually changing the frame length of each motion tween?

I have a holder movieclip on screen, then I create a loader, load an external SWF into the loader and addChild to my holder:

This all works. Now if I want to come back later on and alter the alpha or position I get an error:

I have two things I wish to change with the display elements in flex. The first on relates to and AdvancedDataGridColumn in a AdvancedDataGrid. This is shown in the picture URL with the words "Word Student Teacher ..." These are the headertext of an AdvancedDataGrid. I want to remove the little "1" symbol and disable the abiliy to click on the column and have them sort.
The second is also shown in the picture and it relates to the mx:ToggleButtonBar shown with the text "Pronunciation Pitch Timing Loudness" At present "Pronunciation" is selected, but is is possible to make this clearer? For example have the currently selected tab show in a different color?

I have an animation and i want a variable to eb set to false once it is done. I was currently using the statement below when i simply used addChild(name); to add it.
MovieClip(this.parent).hero.landing = false;
However i now changed that statement to gamelevel.addChild(name); and the above statement no longer works properly, it changes the variable to false, but it resets immediately after. How do i reference this properly?
