ActionScript 3.0 :: Setting Index Of MovieClip - Loading Images?

Mar 31, 2011

I am working on a simple action-script3 slideshow. The thing that I have modified is the movie loads the list in two separate sections. The problem is I want the movie clip to load one image on the right then one image on the left. When the one on the left loads, it loads over top of the right image. I want send the image on the right to be on top again when the left image loads.

Here is my code specific to the images loading:
ActionScript Code:
function nextImage():void{
if(my_times > 0){
var my_image1:Loader = Loader(my_loaders_array[my_playback_counter]);
my_image_slides.addChild(my_image1);
my_image1.x = 26.1
[Code] .....
The idea is, when my_image1 is loaded, I want to have the depth of my_image to be on top.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Setting Child Index In A Class?

Sep 26, 2009

Im trying to build a class that moves around some movieclips on the stage, but it would never be that easy would it!

Code:
package {
import flash.display.MovieClip;
public class Rotation extends MovieClip {

[Code]...

So I waddled it down to the "stage.addChildAt(mcContainer[i], i);" bit and I've tried everything that I could think of, but nothing seems to work.

With this version of the code, I would get "The supplied index is out of bounds." error, I can change it to addChildAt etc, but that just gives me a different error.

I had this working when it was in a flash file, its converting it into a usable class thats bugging me. All the MovieClips in the array are being exported for Actionscript.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Setting Child Index From Within Array?

Sep 14, 2010

Here's what I'm trying to accomplish: I have as3 script that successfully displays an array of MovieClips, the MCs have variable xy positions, and in some cases they overlap each other. I have a function within the array that I can't quite figure out. Here's what I'd like the function to do: When the cursor rolls over a particular MC displayed by the array,I'd like that MC to be brought to the front of the others. This is my script:

var myArray:Array = new Array(); for(var i:int=0; i<8; i++) { myArray[i]= new myImage();addChild(myArray[i]);myArray[i].x = 180*i;myArray[i].y = 330;myArray[i].addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER , overlap);
function overlap (event:MouseEvent):void

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading Images Into Empty Movieclip

first step:

How do i position dynamically loaded images inside of an empty movieclip? The empty movie clip is named "cldImage" i tried to give the content loaded an instance name of content_mc and reposition it:

[Code]...

However that did not work...the image is still positioned to the bottom right of the center of the movclip cldImage.i know that movieclips have a default registration in the center - and image registrations are in the top left corner - what i am trying to achieve is to have the image load in the center of my stage in which the empty movieclip itself is placed.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Loading Dynamic XML And Images Into Assigned MovieClip

I have written the following to send variables to PHP which searches a MySQL database and returns the results in XML. However I cannot get the XML data loaded into the assigned Movie Clips. I think the problem might be somewhere in the URLLoader.
var imageDir:String = "Images/";
var getImage:XML;
var imageList = new Array();
var newPic:MovieClip = new MovieClip();
var thumbnailGroup:MovieClip = new MovieClip();
var loadGallery:String = "getImage.php";

Flex :: Tab Index On Flash Movieclip?

Dec 30, 2010

I have a form that pops up in flex, it is a movieclip contained within a UIComponent. Within this movieclip are form fields.

For some reason I can't get the tab button working to be able to tab between the fields. I set up each field with a tabindex, but that doesn't work.

Is there anything else I need to do besides this? This is basically all the code I am using:

email.tabIndex = 1;
city.tabIndex = 2;
firstName.tabIndex = 3;
etc.

Is this not working because of flex? And if so, what is a workaround?

sendStream.peerStreams[0]["farID"]

how can I make my send stream function know to use the array index where the peerID is?

In many examples, "event.currentTarget.contentLoaderInfo.url" returns the full path to the image selected. i just want the index number. Adobe does not make is easy to figure out what other properties are available to me from the contentLoaderInfo. Is 'SelectedIndex' or something like that available? Where does an inspiring AS programmer find the contentLoaderInfo properties and or methods available? Is url the only thing that us usable here?

var thumbnails:Array = ["tn_2010OpenHouse_00.jpg","tn_2010OpenHouse_01.jpg"];

Actionscript 3 :: Prohibit Users From Loading Swf Files By Flash Loader.load() And Only Allow Loading Images?

Apr 1, 2010

I want to have an AS3 app load images from url supplied by the user. But I don't want a malicious user to be able to load an SWF file in place of the image, such as with an altered extension "maliciousSwf.png". Well, not sure how big a security threat that is above and beyond the ability of the hacker to decompile swf, but I think that ideally such behavior should not be allowed.

So, is there any way to prevent this? When people allow users to load images in their Flash apps, do they somehow guard against loading of SWF? Or is this really absolutely no big deal?
