ActionScript 3.0 :: Video Player - How To Get Rewind Or Start Again Button
Jul 21, 2011
I am creating a video player with my own buttons, play stop are easy, but I can't for the life of me get it to rewind or start again (not loop). It may be worth noting that the flash video is store within a movie clip! The flv instance is flv_close and the movie instance is mv_close.
I'm using the FLVPlayback component and I need a rewind button. I don't want it to go back to the beginning of the video, only go back a couple of seconds everytime the button is pressed.
Problem is that my rewind and fast forward buttons do not work properly in the sense that they start to mess up when you fast forward or rewind past the current scene. It seems to just skip through the whole movie and totally mess up the animation.the code for the controls is on a single layer and reads as the following:
Recently i had developed an as3 videoplayer for a section of a webpage. The player loads the links for the videos from an xml file. It had been tested locally and it works great. BUT when i uploaded the entire "site" on my web server - surprize The stream does not start. And i don't understand why. I've uploaded the exact structure ... and i also know that it reads well from the xml file, cause it loads the video thubnails and names ... just the video won't start.
I'm playing live stream supporting FMLE from FMS. There is no problem with playing if we are starting at first the player and then we are starting the stream with FMLE. The video skipping problem is occurs only if we are starting first the stream with FMLE and than our player.The versions: FMLE 3.0.1.5963, FMIS 4.0.0, Flash Player 10.1.53.64, and codec h.264 Is this a bug in FMS/FMLE or I'm doing something wrong?
We have this legacy code of a flash video player that functions well enough but still has some loose ends I need to tighten up. It can do the basic "switch to full screen and back to normal size" stunts, however with one exception.
On the first fresh load of the app, if I switch to full screen mode first, and then click to play the movie, the player would be in full screen, yet the movie itself would remain in it's original size.
The VideoDisplay object even returns the expected width/height, but the movie just plays in it's original size. If I switch screen sizes during movie playback, then the movie size will shrink or stretch as it should.
I've made a very basic mp3 player with simple play and stop buttons and it works just fine. However I have noticed that when you click play again while the song is playing it plays the song again from the start over the top. Same if you click it 3 times 4 etcetc. I have no idea how to disable the button while the song is playing/until the user clicks stop. This is the code I have on the play button:
on (release) { weddingSound = new Sound(this); weddingSound.attachSound("wedding"); weddingSound.start(0, 99); }
This is the final part of a website I built and the owner is holding out on payment until this is done
I'm rewinding an FLVPlayer w/AS, but the little triangle on the seekbar doesn't move back to the start. The code I'm using is: videoComponent.stop(); videoComponent.seek(0); videoComponent.playheadTime = 0;
Does anyone know of a decent tutorial showing this? I'd like to have the user roll over a button, then start some streaming video. Either they roll over the actual video, or just an invisible button that's placed over the video. Either way.Every time I try to search for this I keep getting "videos about how to create roll over buttons." Not the same, and driving me nutz
I'm trying to create a simple "universal" media player which presents the same user interface (or as similar as possible) for video and audio playback. Unfortunately, FLVPlayback seems not to be able to handle audio files as far as I can tell, so I'm using a Sound and SoundChannel.
My video playback is handled using an FLVPlayback component which is "wired" to standard controls on-the-fly when needed. What I want to do is wire them to the Sound / SoundChannel when I'm playing a sound so that the same UI widgets work in both cases. I'd like to avoid building all my components from scratch because the FLVPlayback component does a lot of nice stuff "for free" but it's starting to look tricky.
The standard PlayPauseButton is a MovieClip with two layers, one containing the Play button (and with the instance name play_mc) and the containing the Pause button (pause_mc). Inside one of these is a movie with some code like this:
I am building a video player and would like to have a forward and rewind button. I was looking at tutorials and it seems like none of them have this. Is there a reason for this?
I'm trying to make my Flex SWF act like a Flash movie SWF so that when the user issues the Play command in the FLash Player it can trigger an event in my Flex SWF file. I'm not sure what event this would hook into or if this is possible with Flex.
I need to remove any ability for the visitor to rewind the video, I need a button that will only come up at the end of the video that will be a link to another page.Is this something I would build from scratch? Does anyone know of a way I can satisfy these requirements with an existing player?
I have been asked to use a lady who stays still but then when you rollover a button her arms moves to that button, I have looked everywhere for some answers but just can't find a single example of one.
Sounds so simple, but I have been trying to sort this for ages and just can't make it work properly
I am fairly new to Actionscripting and brand new to this forum. I hate to start out desperate but I am. Let me set the stage: I created a 7 scene swf in CS3 Actionscript 2.0 and have integrated (under excruciating trials) a voiceover tract (mp3) that is perfectly timed. Now, I have been asked to put in controls so that viewers/listeners can STOP / REWIND / PLAY the swf. After numerous trys I finally got the following script to play the audio with the video:
I am having Fast-Forward and Rewind Functionality in my Custom Video Player, Which I done by calling seek method on regular interval.which works fine. but for same cases , the video playHeadTime get changed , but the frame does not change with that, and video's playHeadTime and Frame does not come with sync.
I'm trying to make an interactive video player where you have a choice of 3 buttons and each button links to a different frame that has a video player embedded in it. Once on of the frames are brought up, I have a button to take you back to the main screen. However, after clicking back to the main screen, I'm running into the following output error:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at memorialsample_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()[memorialsample_fla.MainTime line::frame1:4] at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndPlay() at memorialsample_fla::MainTimeline/gotoMain2()[memorialsample_fla.MainT imeline::frame2:11]
Once the above output error occurs, the buttons are no longer active and no longer work. Here's a look at my code that I have going on: Frame 1: stop()//Link to Frame 2btn_MJ_Main.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, gotoMJ) function gotoMJ (e:MouseEvent){ //btn_Beach_Main.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, gotoBeach) //btn_MJ_Main.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, gotoMJ) btn_Cloud_Main.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, gotoCloud)gotoAndPlay(2) [Code] .....
If you want to see the actual SWF for a better visual at what I'm doing, you can see it here: [URL]. Scroll down to the Flash object, it says "Memorial Tribute Samples". I have the videos streaming, and am not sure how I could get the FLV videos to stop playing when I click the flash's "Return to Samples" button. Right now, the users would have to pause the video if they don't want it to play in the background as they go back to the first frame.
Any way of building in a fullscreen button right into the skin of a video player using actionscript 2? Or perhaps have access to a source file? I've seen the skins with fullscreen with AS3 with CS3, but I need tut on skins with fullscreen using AS2.
I am working on a video player that will have different Languages. The problem that i am have is that i can get the video to switch but i cant get the video to switch back. I have uploaded the file and here is the code that i have have a problem with.
lang.onRelease = function() { if play = English) {
I am doing a postcard flip and would like to rewind my timeline when a button is released. I tried to modify the complexbutton but didn't really get the effect that I was after.
What I am trying to do 1) when the movie opens, I have an arrow to the right, what I want to happen is, when it is clicked, the movie plays and stops at the last frame, easy enough.
2)When the movie is on the last frame there is another button, and when that one is clicked, I want thee movie to reverse. It can't be that hard, can it?
function forwardfunction(event:MouseEvent):void[code]....
I have a strip of pictures that moves from left to right when user clicks "forward" button, pauses when the "pause" button is clicked and rewinds when "rewind" button is clicked.My problem is that after rewind cycle is complete, none of the buttons work again. Also, while in rewind mode, pause button does not pause it.I also had if and else statements for rewindfunction as
Code: if (port_mc.currentFrame == 1) { port_mc.stop();[code]....
Is there any way to disable the "Download This Video" button from RealPlayer. It seems that when users have RealPlayer installed on their machines, it automatically adds a "Download This Video" button to any SWF that loads an FLV.
Edit: My intention isn't to prevent someone from downloading the SWF or FLV, I would just like to remove the ugly button that RealPlayer adds on top of my Flash content.
I'm trying to broaden my horizons with it and so I'm trying to do an update of a quiz program my employer has. Everything has worked well, except for the timer. The button that starts the game has two options, "study" or "exam"; if the study is selected, there is no countdown, just the score keeper. If the exam option is selected, the timer is show (counting up). But, press "Start" and while the quiz begins, the timer, in either case, does not.
I'm going to post the actionscript for the timer that was already there, as well as the start button. I'm hoping someone can explain how this timer is supposed to work and why it's not; and where the disconnect lies in pressing the start button and making it run.The timer is embedded in a movie clip, with two dynamic text boxes, that are for some have no instance name; and actionscript spread out over several frames.Frame 1:
I'm building a flv_video AS3 player. I'm using steaming-video.The player is working fine, but there is something that I want to improve. Currently when I push play button and if I drag&drop the scrubber of progress-bar somewhere in the area that is still not buffered, the player doesn't start to play from that position. So I want to do it.
im creating a portfolio website that primarily uses flv videos for graphics. For example, if you click to go to another section of the website a video plays that actually walks you to that area. What I want to do is be able to load a different video when a button is clicked in the exact same place as the old one. I currently have a working class that plays a video
[Code]...
I want to some how be able to change the variable flvName on the click of a button on my stage and recall the class to change the video. If you can think of an alternate way of doing what i need to do id love to hear it.
