ActionScript 3.0 :: XML Images Loaded To A Layer Under Animated Timeline?
Feb 10, 2011
I want to load jpgs using an external XML file into a flash layer and have a timeline playing over the top of them. I invision having photos loaded to a box on the left side of the stage covering 1/3 of the area, and then loading photos also to a box on the right side of the stage while an animation plays of the clients logo in the middle 1/3 of the stage area. My Action script skills are very limited. I have been able in the pass to modify what I have found on the web to work for my purposes. But, I have not been able to find anything that has multiple players on one stage or anything close. I created a swf that alternates loading an image on left and then right but it plays over the top of ... and then loads a third image behind the client logo in the middle covering the entire stage. But I would be happy with just a left and right alternating if possible.
I created an animated text on the main timeline. Then I exported it as an animatd-gif with transparent check. The resulting gif is not transparent, the background is the color of the stage.
How can make a transparent gif without the stage coloring?
I have a series of thumbnails that I have made into movieclips so that I could animate them. I have named all the instances. I have a main jump page to go to a particular picture. Each picture has a set of thumbnails (movie clips) that are animated on each. When I built it, they work fine by themselves, but when I created my "jump page" the smaller thumbs lose their overstate and onRelease. My actionscript loads on the jump page and to a frame that I request with no problem, but. Why is my actionscript not working?
I'm used to add actionscript to objects (eg buttons) but I want to learn how to add it to a timeline in a layer (i've learned that it is best practise). Eg. I want to play a movieclip when a button is activated and i write this[code]...
set text property of textfields nested in clips on an animated timelines.
All assets are named from the first frame of the outer movieclip. Debugging this in Flash Builder, we can see that the textfield property is being set, but probably because of the multiple keyframes within the outer movieclip AND inner movieclip, there is some confusion occurring...
Testing various scenarios with nested animated movieclips, and nested NON-animated movieclips, the results are this:
It works in this scenario:
mcMainContainer(with animated timeline)>mcSubContainer(with no timeline)>myTextfield
But as soon as we have a nested animated timeline, like this:
Main requirements for that gallery are:- must be updated via xml file- must be auto resize- thumbnails must be floating like in example- also must have preloaderhat's allIt is my first serious project with flash and it will be good to get any tips how to start doing all of that.Especially I am interested how it is possible to make such floating thumbnails which are also preloading.
Is it possible to duplicate a timeline layer in Flash CS4, including all keyframes? I use it a lot in Illustrator and Photoshop, but can't find it here. Is there a trick to do this?
Is there a way to change the background color of the layers the Flash timeline itself? I'm using XP, and there is not enough difference in the color of a selected layer and one with extended keyframes that is not selected. At school I use a Mac and there is definitely a blue vs. a gray. On my computer, they are two very close shades of gray.
I've got a movieclip with two layers - a background movieclip, and above that, a mask movieclip (as you might guess, this layer is masking the first). Due to design necessity, the mask is animated on the timeline across 60 frames. The problem arises when I use an Event.RESIZE listener to change the width of the parent movieclip when the browser window is resized. Any code to reference the mask, i.e
Is there any method with which I can get to know which of the two movieclips I'm using is lying above or below in the timeline 'layer' arrangement in flash.
what I'm asking is if have two movieclips 'a' and 'b'. One in layer 10 of timeline of flash professional and 'b' on layer 1. Will be able to change the index order using pure as3 code to visually keep the movieclip on the 10th layer on top of the movieclip on 1st layer?
I made a button a stage, and I want the button to take the user to a separate scene that I have named "Biography page" when it is clicked. The thing is, I want all my actions on one specific layer. So I made an instance name for my button, "aboutme". The thing is... I have no idea how to write the code.
I am developing a flash web site using ACTIONSCRIPT 3. There is a menu of small icons that, when one of them is clicked, the program loads the correspondent SWF into a loader and then presents it in a "virtual screen" ( a rectangular area ) in the web page. The problem is that some of these child SWFs have an embedded background sound and I DO NOT KNOW how to mute them from the main SWF when a user decides to do so by clicking a "mute" button.
Each SWF embedded sound has its own layer in its timeline and is set as Sync: Event, Repeat:1.
I'm confused as to how Flash CS5 treats symbol instances across different frames in a given layer; If I add an object to a layer, and then add a keyframe to the existing frame set, are there now two instances of the object, one for each frame? When I change the color of the instance in the first key frame, the second keyframes instance stays the same. Is there anyway to edit across all frames? Paste across all frames?
So, can I access layers on this MainTimeline to get all Movie Clips on this layer ? So I can do a simple operation "A_1_2.buttonMode = true;" to all my MC's (in an array for example) without writing every line (lot of MC's on layer and lot of lines).
I have a dynamic text field in a MC that should loop, but for some reason it plays once then vanishes. The text from the XML file does show up, and the text field is still there but blank. I have checked the basic stuff like anti alias for animation, embed, no stop(); or anything that simple. Here is the XML, all my instances are labeled correctly in the .fla
I am needing to create a preloader that advances a 10 frame animation every 10% loaded. So there will be a percentage indicator (dynamic text) and a short animation as the load bar (10 frames). The animation is of tape winding into a tape measure, and when it's fully inside the loading is complete and timeline moves onto next frame. I have been able to do this with AS2, using a combination of (stop) and (play) commands whenever the next 10% was loaded.
I am making a Layer contains 312 Key Frames that is made of 312 gif images (each image contains a specific detail for my movie).what I have done;
-I have made a Keyframe in Frame 1 (imported Det1.gif to stage)
-then Selected Frames 2 to 312 and pressed F6 (Made 312 Key Frames that they all contains Det1.gif)
-Now I am one by one, going to different frames and cicking on Det1.gif image, and click SwapImage.
Now that I am talking to you, I have Swaped 50 of them, But still I have a long way infront of me to go before I finish those 312 SWAP images one by one.
really stuck with my thumbnails. Already get to open (load) the movie (container) with all the images but only get that the first thumbnail open all the container, so i canī set each particular thumbnail to open the corresponding big size image, this is what i got nowInto Characters and Illustrations, and click on the first thumb (upper-left)...really bad
I'd like to import dozens of images and have them in sequence in a single layer. I did this once before, I made a .swf out of a video game cutscene and I recall importing the images to the stage then I asked somewhere else how to make them appear in the layers field. Then I did something that put each image in its own layer and I had to manually move them and make them appear in sequence.
So if anybody knows how to import and put in a single layer in sequence or simply import each image into its own layer
I'm trying to build a prototype for strings to be loaded into textfields. I want to break up a string and put each and every char in it in to the textfield with a 1 second interval. This is what I've come up with, I don't get any script errors but nothing seems to work anyway. Any ideas how to accomplish this?
I would like to RUN/LOAD my loaded SWF or Movie Clips BEHIND some existing Masks already designed in a scene or simply arrange theirvisibility position in ActionScript 3 while loading them with CODING only
On one layer I have a gallery loading the content from an xml file. On the layer above I have two square blocks on either side of the screen, with a gap in the middle for where the main picture will be displayed. The two blocks are 50%percent alpha. This is because the gallery thats loaded, loads the images in a line, which is movable, whereby the user can click either the left or right image and the gallery moves along, displaying the next or previous image into the middle spot where there are no blocks shading it.
I am loading a swf in my main timeline in Flash CS4 using the AS3.However the movie appears on top of everything else, while I need it to be below everything else. What is the way to specify a layer or order for the loaded swf?
trying to create an animated preloader.how to do a basic bar preloader but what I want is to fill a swirl shape (attached) based on the amount loaded.I can easily enough create the movie clip where the full outline is there and then it fills up but I have no idea how to turn that into a preloaded and have it fill based on the percent loaded. Am I correct in assuming I can't use a mask because of the irregular shape?
i have got a layer that contains some movie clips but i would like them hidden by default and then displayed when an option is chosen from the combobox.
I have been tyring to export an animated banner, in animated.gif format. it's a simple animated text with no gradients. it should go on top of a graphic which has some gradients and is multi-coloured and with effects (the colours are similar to the one/i used in the page) as you can see here the text looks a bit funny.url...
