ActionScript 3.0 :: Make The Menu And Mouseclick Event For Replay

I created a game entirely in flash develop. It's running great and looking good. One small problem...I have to make the menu and mouseclick event for replay etc...but they game is entirely on the first frame since it was made in flash develop. as to how I can work around this? I was thinking maybe making the menu movieclips etc and incorporating timers or something of that nature. But when you load the SWF the game goes...so i'd have to pause the game too somehow while the menu is in progress.

I'm working on a custom AS visual component, based on UIComponent class. Inside this component, I have a button I programatically added. I set the mouseClick event of it, and it works fine. When the mouseClick for the button starts, it adds a listener for MouseDown on the stage. This is my problem. Once that MouseDown event listener is initiated it won't ever pay attention to the MouseClick listener of the button (which will
turn off the MouseDown listener!). I've tried setting the priority number when creating the listeners, but this is not working. My mouseClick listeners gets ignored.

Let's say I have 10 different buttons, a click on each button will open a different website. Currently, I have 10 different functions for 10 buttons. Is there a way to simplify the code and only have one function for all the buttons and only pass the URL to the onclick function?

I have a button class which disables the current button when it is clicked, the problem is I need to restore the mouseclick event to all the other button or eventually if you work through the menu all the button will be disabled. How can I iterate through all non-clicked items and restore the clicks to the non-clicked buttons?

if I have two overlapping movieclips and both have onPress function, then the upper movieclip screens the lower one so that the lower movieclip does not react to Mouseclick.
Is this a default behavior?
Is it possible to make both ovrlapping movieclips to react to the same mouseclick?

I made a flash movie and all i need to do is make a replay button, but i have no idea how. i am using cs5. my movies goes through multiple scenes so at the last scene i want them to click on the reply button to go to the 1st scene again. however, i have no idea where my actions layer and labels layer go or what action to put into my button. i looked around, but every video i find, they seem to only be working in one scene and within one layer too.

I've created a repaly button to replay an imported swf file (instance name=dpCuspSub_mc) located in frame 1 of a movie clip. It works, but then it starts looping and I want it to replay only once.

This may come across as beginner stuff: I'm working In ActionScript 3.0. I have a MovieClip called FloorStatusChanges and within it are two MovieClips called Floors and StatusChanges.The MC called Floors contains Three wireframe-looking floors(each floor has it's own MC).The MC called StatusChanges contains three buttons that have the Instance Names of FirstFloorButton, SecondFloorButton, and ThirdFloorButton.Within the FloorStatusChanges MC, I've set up a motion tween for these wireframe-looking floors to move into and out of the stage so that upon clicking one of the buttons in StatusChanges it would, in theory, cause this motion tween to happen. It has stop(); commands between every motion:Within the StatusChanges MC, there are 4 layers. 3 are for each button consecutively and 1 for the Actionscript. I'm moving on to my next massive programming project and I'm trying to decide whether I should code it in as 2.0 or 3.0. I came across the new click event model in 3.0. Right now it's looking like a pain in the butt to me. So now I have to make a function and add it as an event listener? what the hell? What's the benefit? I understand stuff like this makes AS a more complete language but it's kinda annoying.

When game starts, the car runs automatically. Then we click the SPACE button, movement of car stops. And the door of structure near car is available to CLICK.
But in coding I got this error code:

I need to make a button on the first frame saying "play animation", and another at the end saying "replay animation".
I can't figure out how to do this in 3.0. The version I learnt in 2.0 doesn't work, and every internet tutorial I've looked at includes at least 20 lines of something that (to me, as a beginner) looks like indecipherable gibberish.
In 2.0, I was taught to use: on(release) {gotoAndPlay('animstart')}; ...or similar.
What can I use in 3.0? Does it really have to be 20 lines long? I just want to make it go to the next frame, that's all - I've already done the graphics.

When you look at my example, and you click on "Technieken" (=Techniques)and then on "Info", the subitems are not always positioned in the right way. Another time the "Technieken" come to stand under "Info"... weird...

I have a MC in library, and inside I have 3 movie clips, img_mc, bg_mc (this is a background for text) and title_mc (inside this mc I have a textfield named title-txt).
I create a for loop for the MC, and I use e.currentTarget in my tween animations.
When I hovered the title_mc is suposed to scale the background, but because bg_mc are in back of the text, the hover don't works. I do not know how to target the title_mc for on MOUSE:OVER scale the bg_mc.

I am new to Flash and trying to create something that may be simple, but am getting tripped up on.My issue is I have a navigation bar with text. When I mouseover one of the links, I would like a "pop-up" menu to appear. And from there, a CLICK event on them would bring me to a main-timeline frame.
How I went about to test this was I created a rectangle on the first frame of the main timeline, I converted that to a button. On the fifth frame of the main timeline I named the frame. Going into the button now, on the 'OVER' keyframe in its' timeline, I inserted more rectangles to form the pop-up menu. Now, I then converted the first rectangle to a movieclip that I want to on a CLICK goTo the 5th frame of the main timeline.
When I use the usual AS3 code in the actions panel of the movieclip with a basic CICK event, this error appears;
1120: Access of undefined property 'name of movie clip that links to fifth frame'.

I'm having a major brain fog right now...I'm trying to add a click event for each menu item that is loaded from an XML file.
See code below:

So basically everytime a click event occurs on a menu item, the related url from the xml file will be called. However the trace(imgURL) only shows the last item loaded from the XML file which makes sense.
I just can't see how to modify the code so the unique url is associated with each unique menu item click event.

I'm creating a flashwebsite and I've got a problem with submenu appearing/disappering. What is extremely easy in html/jquery is taking me overburned in actiuonscript: make appear a submenu only when the mouse cursor is over its button and not over itself. Indeed I've my button/MC, that contains its submenu (which is a vertical list of MC), and when I go over it, submenu appears, when I leave, sub menu becomes invisible.
BUT, when I go over the space under the button (where my invisible submenu is), submenu become visible another time. I know that cause is the listener associated to the main button is linked to all its nested MC.

the issue i face right now is that there is an item that can be dragged around the screen and if this item is dropped, physics will bring it back to the floor. all good so far. however, when i am currently dragging the item and i right click and choose "show redraw regions" or any other option available in that menu, there is no mouse up event fired, making it impossible for me to simulate the release of the item. i have looked in the googles and the doc:
